Best Time Of Year for Disney world

i loved going the second week of December.

i have horrible allergies so summer time isn't the best, neither is spring.

plus it's not overly hot or overly crowded and the christmas decorations are so pretty!

We have always loved Dec, but last year it was surprisingly crowded that first week.

Funny - we thought exactly the opposite. So much so that we are returning the same week this year!

My vote is for early December. Everything looks so special all decorated for the holidays. And as an added bonus - no extreme heat and humidity!

Everyone's perceptions are different about the "best" time. It is best to make a list of your priorities (weather, crowd levels, other activities) and then research from there!

Happy planning!

I want to take my husband to disneyworld, he has never gone, what do you think are the best times to go?

By January we are already tired of snow in PA, but we go in APril the 2nd week. I t works out great usually after Easter Dh and DS birthday celebrations! The weather is wonderful and they ahve the flower and garden show that gets me dreaming of a garden that the deer won't eat!!!

THe weather is perfect get a great tan and some great swimming in!

Now that I think of it tohugh, I don't think anytime is a bad time at WDW!!!!

ITs just whimisical! :wizard:

UH, ANYTIME? :teeth: actually, it depends on what you like to do and what type of weather you like. If you like to be comfortable, not too cold I'd say around December or January. Also, there are lots of different things to do that time of year! Holiday decorations all go up and you get that wonderful happy feeling! The next trip we take will be during the holiday season, there is just nothing like it! The only problem with taking a vacation in Florida is that the weather can be different every year! :confused3 I would go ANYTIME accept for SUMMER! between the end of May and end of September it's usually going to be HOT! :sunny: Whatever you choose to do, have a wonderful time! pixiedust: Helen

The week after Jersey Week is our favorite...usually around the second week of November. It is still warm enough to swim, NO crowds and as a bonus the Christmas decorations go up the Thurs. night before Thanksgiving. If I weren't having a baby this Christmas Day we would be going back then. Now we are going the last week of Sept. and I am really concerned that the crowds are going to be heavy.

I vote for the week AFTER thanksgiving. Last year was very slow. There was almost no wait for any ride. The longest line was Space Mtn which was only 10 minutes. Soarin' was only 5 minutes! The weather was perfect (75 to 80 during the day, high 50's to low 60's at night) and the holiday decorations were out in full force.

But frankly, any time is a great time to go if you make the time to appreciate all of the fun and magic :)

We loved end of April early May. The weather was nice and the crowds were light. Staying at OKW was extra special and it was perfect swimming.

My answer would be .....ANYTIME!!! I find whenever we go , whether it is Summer, Spring, Winter or Fall is GREAT, that is if you can make travel arrangements fitting your schedule, of course! So do enjoy when it is :sunny: convenient for you.

The week of Thanksgiving (2005) was a little to busy for me but that was mostly at the Magic Kingdom. The rest of the parks were OK but not quite as slow as I would prefer. The week after Thanksgiving was perfect. No crowds, shorter lines, and the weather was absolutely wonderful. During the day it was around 75-85 and the evenings were chilly. (sweatshirt weather) Almost no humidity.

In 2004 we went in February over Presidents day weekend. To busy for me and to much humidity however it was not really hot, just humid.

We are going this year Jan 10-16, I will post a trip report when I get back

We don't have many trips under our belt but we really did enjoy our last trip the last week of Sept. The weather was still hot/humid but that made the pool that much more refreshing. Not much of a crowd either. We also did Thanksgiving...I mean right over the holiday. The weather was nice. Cool in the am and pm and 80's during the day. The crowds were huge!!!!! The decorations are beautiful.
When ever you decide to go have a GREAT TRIP!

Was that like Thanksgiving day? I want to go the Thursday -Sunday of the holiday weekend but not if the crowds are really bad.

Here's my take, there are pros and cons all year:

Avoid peak school vacation times. They will be the most crowded, though they offer the longest park hours, too. If you go during a really uncrowded time, expect your first timer to say, "What are all these empty queues about?" A moderate crowd will more likely impress your first timer a little more. It can be creepy to be in a park that has long, empty queues.

Consider avoiding the winter months (Dec - early Feb), as the weather will be cold. It's no fun to go on a water ride when it's cold. The pools also loose something when it's only 50 degrees outside.

Avoid peak hurricane season. Enough said.

The thing about going in spring is, after a long winter (depending in where you're from) - there's nothing like seeing fresh flowers and feeling the warm air! Certain times are crowed - but Epcot's flower show was really nice. A little bit of crowds is not a bad thing for a newbie.

May through September can be HOT. I dunno...for me, I don't enjoy crowds when I'm really hot.

Late fall has low crowds (nears the end of hurricane season), but maybe isn't as thrilling a time as spring.

For a first trip, I'd avoid the Christmas decorations. Reserve that for a second trip, when you can appreciate the difference. Disney under regular decorations is grand enough, and a first timer adult might find something actually distasteful about combining so much commercialism with such an important relgious holiday (and potentially be offended if they are not a Christian)

We did Wed-Sat and it was busy. We used fastpass alot and for the most part we got to ride what we wanted. Just about every ride had a wait of over an hour. We tried to fastpass Rock n Rollercoaster and they were all gone by noon. On the flip side the parks are open really long hours. Mk was open till midnight if I remember right. After the fireworks things really cleared out, that was great. For a comparison when we went in Sept our longest wait was 20 mins for Soarin.
