Best thing you've eaten at disneyland resort!

I found out the hours for the Cove Bar: Friday thru Sunday 12pm to 10pm Closed Monday thru Thursday  So we won't be able to try it. You'd think during the summer they'd have it open everyday. Oh well...I'll get my drink on somewhere else :thumbsup2.

I just don't understand the logic behind that. I'm sure there is a reason but it's beyond me.

awwww ..thats too bad :(.. well dear there is UVA. or the Grand cal. hotel bar, if you are looking for a bar with cocktails other then beer and wine...

yeah i don't either..oh wit i think i know why. casue they close so early on the weekdays.maybe that is why? or the info she got was for off season..i think i might ask this weekend when i go, i would like to know and i will share my info! :cutie:

The Hearthstone Lounge is the one in GCH. There is (or was?) a bar area inside the Rainforest Cafe called the Magic Mushroom Lounge (I'm sure they sell some cool drinks). Lots of places to have drinks when the Cove Bar is closed!

i agree with that.. oh hey i forgot about rainforest..and there is espn zone! lol :)

Thank you that would be great. I just liked the way the place looked, and thought it would be fun to get some snacks and a cocktail and still in the middle of DCA. Maybe the CM was working on "Off Season Time"?
Thanks for ideas on alternatives everybody! I'll check those out...back to the food porn for me!:yay:

In no particular order....

1. Chocolate covered banana ice cream
2. Tuna sandwich from Blue Ribbon Bakery
3. Crab Cakes from Blue Bayou
4. Chicken Fusilli from Pizza Port
5. Chicken Caesar Salad and Pommes Frites from Cafe Orleans
6. Clam Chowder in a bread bowl from Royal Street Veranda

Wow, didn't realize I had so many favorites! ;)

Ok, I am curious. Where do you get the chocolate covered banana ice cream? That sounds wonderful! :rotfl::banana:

1. Squab/Duck at Napa Rose
2. Shredded Beef Nachos at Whitewater Snacks
3. Edamame at Lucky Fortune Cookery (easily the best snack at DLR and the best edamame I've had anywhere)
4. Fried Chicken at Plaza Inn
5. Loaded Baked Potato Soup at Carnation Cafe
6. Honorable mention: Fried Mozzarella at Farmer's Market or Stage Door Cafe.

At the ice cream carts they are chocolate covered frozen bananas and they really are heaven on a stick!!!! Just like that hand dipped corndog Disney sure has a way with food on a stick, not to mention all the yummy stick goodness at Bengal BBQ..... I am making myself very hungry!! :)

Really? Wow, that is surprising. During the summer they're usually open every day. Hopefully the CM is mistaken and you'll still get a chance at the Lobster Nachos :)

Some of my favourite eats:

~ Pumpkin Muffin from the Blue Ribbon Bakery
~ Gumbo and fresh french bread with butter from the Jazz Kitchen Express :lovestruc
~ Cheshire Cat Tail from Pooh's Corner
~ Apple Pie Candy Apple from Pooh's Corner
~ Pommes Frites from Cafe Orleans
~ Dole Whip Float while sitting in the Tiki Room! :)
~ brunch at Goofy's Kitchen

chocolate chip supreme cookie (yummmmmmmmmmm i dont know how they make it but the dough is like perfect)
beignets <3
and of course clam chowder bowl

They sell them as a "starter" at Cafe Orleans. I think you could probably just order the fries alone? I could be wrong though.

I have been to Cafe Orleans multiple times and always order the Pommes Frites and the Beignets...that is my meal and it is sooooooo good!

Other faves are the lemonade from the cart in Frontierland (no added syrup please), the pb sandwiches from the candy shop on mainstreet, the chocolate covered pretzel stick with caramel and nuts from poohs corner, baked potato soup from carnation cafe, rasta pasta from Rainforest Cafe, Chicken fusilli from Redd Rockets, Tostada Salad from Rancho Del Zocalo, the sausage and biscuits and gravy from House of Blues Gospel brunch, the mocha sundae from mainstreet, clam chowder in a bread bowl from Royal Street Verandah (though I want to try the brocoli cheese in a bread bowl from Harbour Gallery), corn dog from the Red Wagon, and the steamboat from Riverbelle Terrace breakfast!

Can't wait to go back in December and am hoping to try the pot pie from Carnation Cafe and additional items from the candy shops!

Yummy!

The best thing was during a christmas parade while watching it, when it had suddenly got very cold and damp from fog.

Hot chocolate and shortbread cookies.

Since we're talking about them, I just wanted to share a pic of the YUMMY Pommes Frites and Beignets at Cafe Orleans. Threw in a pic of the tasty Monte Cristo too!

That's just not nice! LOL. I knew I should have steered clear of this thread. :rotfl: All three of those are definitely on the menu for our next trip.

Monte Cristo and Beignets were just like donuts or something imo, but those fries were extraordinary! :)

Fried Mozzerella, Mile High Chocolate Cake, & Chicken Fingers at the Stage Door Cafe. Yum!

I wondered about that cake. I have seen photos of the Mile High cake and it looks so decadent and tempting (and huge), but I wasn't clear on if it was sold at Stage Door counter service or inside of Golden Horseshoe (I have not been into the Golden Horseshoe in centuries)! So you have answered my question! I am guessing you can get it at Stage Door but you don't have to go into Golden Horseshoe with it. You can just take it and eat elsewhere?

What exactly are beignets?

Those french fries just look like a skinny version of the garlic parmesan fries they have at Red Robin.
