Best Seats for Aladdin

It depends on what you want to see. I loved our seats in the first row of the Mezzanine when we saw it last March. You want to be up high if you want to take in the full show because parts of it do occur off the stage itself. I would love to sit down in the Orchestra level if I actually get to see it in September, just to be closer to the stage and got some better photo opportunities.

We've seen it three times. Once last year in the orchestra, and twice this past trip. The first time this trip we walked in at the last minute and sat in the Mezzanine. Maybe about half way back. We did not like it as much as down below because you can't see the expressions on their faces.

So we decided to see it again. We arrive half hour before the show and the other areas were already full and only mezzanine was available. So we decided to come back for the next one an hour early. We got there before they started letting people in and line up in the street. In a few minutes, they let people in to the line and orchestra was loaded first. We were nearer to the front of that line than the back, but not the very first either. When they let us in most people tend to walk towards the back of the orchestra seating but we made a beeline for the front. We found seats off the to right of the stage (as you face the stage) about 6 rows back. Awesome seats! It is much better to be closer to the stage off to the side than far in the back center.

You can see Aladdin winking, the expressions on Carpet (who is silent). Well worth the hours wait to be close for that one. :thumbsup2

We sat in the first row of the back orchestra section and I loved it. You can see the stage up close, and the parade passes right in front of you!

I thought I would add this - photos of our view from 1st row in the Mezzanine - to give you an idea of how far from the stage you are.

If you have preferred seating tickets, how long before the show start should you get there to line up? Where do you line up? Is it better to be in the front center, right or left side or are all the seats in the preferred area good? Thanks in advance!

We have never done preferred seating and although we have seen Alladin a few times, we were always late and sat in the very back top! Looking forward to a different view without having to climb a million steps.

:thumbsup2 this is always where we sat last time we saw the show. it meant having to line up really early , but for us it was well worth it. my daughter loved it cause Aladdin would wave at her as he went past. you also have a great view of the carpet ride scene.

We saw the VIPs lining up in the front of the theater. Check with a CM when you get there. Not sure how learly you need to be there. If I had first pick, I'd be front and center. An aisle is neat because the characters walk right past you.

We had preferred seating and showed up about 20 mins before showtime. There were a lot of people in front of us, but we still had great seats.

3 years ago I saw the show without preferred seating, and while I don't remember where we sat, I remember that the view was just fine. It's not that huge of a theatre.

Preferred seating vouchers for Aladdin are included when you book packages through Disney Travel (via Disney, AAA, etc). We do also have a wait list here on the DIS for people who have extra vouchers to share the magic if they don't use theirs. You can find the thread here. It's not a guarantee for vouchers, but it has helped quite a few people recently!

Don't forget that Aladdin's last day is August 15th unless theres been some changes I haven't heard.

That's old news. It was announced back in May that Aladdin was being extended, although construction near the theater may impact some performance dates/times still. The schedule hasn't been released for September yet.

Here's the article posted on the Disney Parks Blog: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...nted-genies-run-extended-at-hyperion-theater/

I SO hope it's still around in November. It's one of my favorites, but we haven't been able to see it since 2007. I really want to see it again, even if it's just one more time!

Thanks everyone for the helpful hints about seating! This trip I hope to plan a little better and not come at the last minute and have to sit all the way up in the nosebleed section in the last row-lol. The only thing I really remember was all the steps! It seemed like a million steps. My kids loved it back then so I hope they like it again.

Anyone been more recently? How early are folks arriving and does it always fill up?

I think my daughter would really love this.

I'd like to get in the front row of the back orchestra seats. How early should I arrive?

There is no assigned seating...

The Hyperion has three levels of seating.
Orchestra: Lower level, with the back half raised and under the next level.
Mezzanine: Middle level, you must walk up 55 steps or wait for the elevator.
Balcony: Top level, and additional stairs or escalator.

The Hyperian has about 1,800 seats, With Wheelchair sections at the back of each level. Orchestra holds about 1,000, Mezzanine about 450, Balcony 350.

Starting about one hour before the show time, They fill in the waiting areas in order: Orchestra - Mezzanine - Balcony. There is a smaller VIP waiting section.

10 minutes before show time they let in the VIP section into the Orchastra section lower level, and begin the the climb to the upper levels. Then open the Orchestra section to the upper Orchestra entrance. (Handicapped is allowed to use the lower entrance). You can then go from the upper Orchestra and fill in any open seat in the lower section. All levels are entered from the top, and exit after the show at the botom.

At the show time they close the doors and stop letting people in and make the announcement about no flash photography in English, Japanese, and Spanish. About 5 minutes later a cast member standing in front of the stage with a headset makes sure that everyone is seated, tells them to start, and exits.

Everyone has a different favorite spot. I like the right front of the Orchestra section as you can see the performers up close during the Key scenes. Others like front and center, or the front of the raised Orchestra section. The front or center of the Mezzanine is a good spot to see the show overall, and you get a great view of the flying carpet. The Balcony is very high and nobody wants to sit there.

If you show up 30-45 minutes early you will get the Orchestra section. 15-30 minutes early the Mezzanine, and close the show time the Balcony.

From the Mezzainine: they no longer allow anyone in the front row...

You only get VIP vouchers with some vacation plans where you book your hotel and DL Tickets together. (AAA, etc.).

To get the seats in the front row to the raised section at the back of Orcheastra, you need to have VIP Vouchers, or arrive when they open the waiting area 50-60 minutes before show time.
