I'm looking for the best kept secret cafes of DWD. Does anyone know of simple cafes that serve good sandwiches, salads and soups either in the parks or in the resorts? My mom and I are looking for not too expensive and lite fare meals when we go on out trip this summer.

    thank you :)

We went to Columbia Harbor House in MK as a stop on a tour and really enjoyed it. We split a tuna sandwich and a hummus sandwich which had broccoli slaw on it. I was not expecting to like it, but LOVED it. If you get your food and sit upstairs, you can avoid the crowds a bit too.

For me, it's definitely the turkey club at Captain Cooks at the Poly. It's a gigantic portion (3 halves!), really good multigrain bread & very good quality turkey......plus you can wash it down with a self serve Dole Whip!!:thumbsup2

Another vote for Earl of Sandwich and also for the Taco Salad at PB.

Also many of the resorts have a Build-your Own Salad-with either Chicken , Shrimp. Salmon, or Steak (depends on location) About $11 and it is huge! Art of Animation, The All Stars, POP, and both Port Orleans offer it.

Here's one we had at POFQ.

    Yummy!

This one had 3 large scoops of shrimp along with all the other toppings we selected.

Had a very fresh and tasty chicken Caesar sandwich at Min & Bills in DHS.

We were waiting for the parade and I was FAMISHED. I picked it because it was close by and i was starting to get hangry. We had dinner plans not to far off, so i shrugged, ordered, and got a tasty sandwich with good crusty bread, fresh crisp greens, flavorful chicken, and just enough dressing. I had at least 5 people ask me where I got it, it looked so good.

Another vote for Capt. Cooks! They also have a "grown-up grilled cheese" with three kinds of cheese on that same delicious multigrain bread. So good!
