Back from Kidani....

    We love it there so much. We had a standard view 2 bedroom dedicated, room 7519 in the Timon section. I couldnt have asked for a better location (of course if i had enough points for a Savannah view, but 9 days in a 2 bedroom was great!). The staff was great and the room was gorgeous! The weather was beautiful and we had such a great time.
    We had 2 small problems with the busses, my FIL is in a wheelchair and he rented a scooter for the trip. One day the driver got a bit aggrivated with him because i guess he wasn't movong as fast as he wasnted him to..well the driver took over the controls (while FIL was sitting on the scooter!) and smashed his hand into the wall. He was ok and we had a great day...THEN, my MIL and FIL took my girls' to Downtown disney, as they pulled up to the Marketplace the driver let everyone off (including my MIL and kids) and pulled away..so my FIL starts yelling saying you forgot me..guy pulls around to the bus stop and calls my MIL in (now she thinks he needs help getting FIL off) the freaking bus driver pulls away LEAVING my kids (9,8,5) ALONE! Now they are yelling and he didn't listen..FIL is now trying to get up to probably choke the guy..lol He then drops them off (and another lady in a wheelchair that he forgot) at the Pleasure island stop..its no torrential downpours..Fil says i need you to take me back...drivers response "Too bad, im off duty"!!!!! Luckily my 9 yo DD (who is like 18 :) ) knew enough to keep the girls together and she jumped on the next bus back to Animal Kingdom lodge..and waited in the lobby. Thestaff was very apologetic...
    Other than that we had a fantastic trip and can't wait to go back next year!!!!!:cool1:

    Glad to hear you had a great time. That was not a great situation for your FIL and the girls, but I am glad it worked out.

    We were there 8/21-8/25 in a standard 1 bedroom, which looked out on the smaller savannah that wraps around to the front of the resort, so we had tons of animals out our balcony. It was a pleasant surprise, I think we were in room 7757 Pumba section.

    It was our first trip and we had a great time.....:thumbsup2

    So glad you had a great time but I can't believe you are taking it so well about your girls being left alone at the Market Place, that is just so awful of the driver not to have done something about it, did your MIL or FIL not get his name to report him..I just think its so bad of him. I know you are saying your 9 year old is like an 18 year old but she isn't she is 9 without the experience of an 18 year old! So glad it turned out well but it could have had a far worse outcome for another family if he had done this to them!

    Someone in authority needs to be told about the bus incident.

    We love Kidani, this October will be our 4th trip staying at Kidani :) time staying there.

    That bus driver should be fired.

    Glad you enjoyed your stay, how was it in August? Weather, Lines at the parks etc.... We always go in the fall, but our DD is getting to the age where taking her out of school is going to be difficult, looking for a new time of year to go.

    Wow, I'm shocked at the bus service you received! :eek: Normally the bus drivers are much more professional.

    I'm glad you enjoyed Kidani, I think it is a beautiful hotel!

    I am glad you had a fun trip - your attitude is very positive and uplifting. Still, I would report the bus incident to someone in authority. Had something happened to your girls, or had they been unable to wisely get "home", something awful could have happened, and that would be horrible.

    Wow, good thing your daughter knew what to do! My DS once jumped ahead of us on an elevator (6yrs old at the time) at Penney's. Next thing we knew, two sweet older ladies escorted him back down to us:goodvibes What kind of view did you have in the standard? We are looking at a Kidani stay next year, but not able to do a savannah view. Glad to see you really enjoyed Kidani!!

    Oh believe me, we did not take it well. We contacted everyone we could have and told them about the situation and gave them the bus number and time of day. You know what they offered us??? 2 fastpasses, my husband told them to take the FP's and shove them up their ***..lol. We did need a room for one more night and the manager of Kidani gave us an amazing rate...I am still upset, and my kids wouldn't ride the busses for the rest of the trip..but I didn't want to harp on this situation, we love Disney and didn't want this to be what my kids remembered from the trip. It was funny how no one wanted to tak responsibility though and kept transferring us to all different numbers.
    I think this August was a bit more crowded than past years, but it was fine. Weather was good, but hot.

    This makes the situation worse, in my mind, but I don't know what else you could do then, or now, but it really is unacceptable and something that I never would expect from Disney. It never should have happened.

    I couldn't agree more! Not only is this not the Disney standard, with so many people out of work I would think Disney has the opportunity to vet just the right wired people for these positions. That was uncalled for.

    I still think doing a little follow up now that you're home wouldn't be a bad idea. Would she start with Member Services or go to a more operational Disney segment since it involved transportation?

    Hi that is such a shame. I have found when I am not happy about something and those on the bottom of the feeding pole aren't helpful I take it up the chain even if it ends up at the top. We had a situation with another company regarding an extended warranty and our broken laptop. It took a few weeks of calling and asking who was over that person until I got all the way up the ladder to someone who could do something.

    What happened to your family is a situation I would take up the top. Good luck. Hope you get it resolved.

    I hope to heaven you reported that bus driver! That's awful! He should loose his job over that. and I'm a pretty passive person, but heads woulda rolled over that one! Sheesh. Glad the rest of your trip went well. and you must be so proud of your daughter!
