The current edition of Mouse Matters states that Aunt Polly's Dockside Inn has been closed permanently. Is this correct?I thought it was still open seasonally. It has always been a favorite spot of mine.:)

Oh, I didn't know that! I hope it's not true! We were planning on making a stop there this summer. :guilty:

I haven't heard that either, but we lived there for a year in 2005-2006, and have been back many times since then, and haven't seen it open. So I would guess they are just closing it down.

We haven't seen it open at any time this year and two vending machines have been added, one of which partially obstructs Polly's. Here's hoping that it reopens.

Are they permanently closing this down?!?!
We are going in November and Havent seen this place open in our last 3 trips.

Hoping I can sit by the river and watch the boats go by while enjoying some icecream and apple pie at aunt pollys.....

Anyone know - are t hey ever re-opening....so sad if not:sad1: .

Sadly, Aunt Polly has packed herself a few of her PB&J sandwiches and moved on.

The only thing left are vending machines.

I wonder if they're planning the same changes to TSI that they made out in DL CA (Pirates theme). My friend went & said it is very well done.

As much as a soft spot as I have for TSI from when my DS was a Little Davy Crockett fan, I'd love to see them do something with TSI.

Nope. The pirate overlay made more sense at DL where there PotC sits right on the Rivers of America and faces TSI. At WDW it doesn't.

UPDATE: I just called a friend of mine who works over at TSI and she's confirmed that WDW will NOT get a Pirate Overlay anytime soon, if at all -- although she pointed out that the "Scavenger Fort" on TSI does sport the Jolly Roger.

Maybe WDW will get a CBJ layover:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That makes sense, never thought of it that way.

One more reason I need to head West soon. I'd really like to see Pirate's Lair.

. . . The only thing left are vending machines . . .

1) Vending machines don't take breaks or lunches.
2) Vending machiens don't need health insurance.
3) Vending machines don't have to bring in "x" dollars per labor hour.
4) Vending machines don't make me feel like I am on Tom Sawyer Island.

I like #4 ;) Right!!!! Exactly - the concept of transporting guests to a 'quieter' & simpler time is kinda lost when your jamming that dollar bill to get a snickers....:rotfl: :rotfl:

In the machines' defense, they only dispense Coca-Cola products ($2.50 for a 20 oz. bottle) and they are themed to look like shipping crates. And truthfully, I'll bet Tom never looked across the Missouri river and saw a Haunted Mansion -- or a runaway mine train rumbling around a southwestern butte.
