Aulani was our first add on and the first we were going to use the monthly payment option for the dues. So I called Member Accounting today to make sure we had set things up right for the payments to be sucked out of our bank. Turns out, they couldn't give me an amount or date when payments would start. I looked on my DVC member page and the amount is there as is the option to pay it, but the CM told me the dues for Aulani have been "postponed" until the issues there have been resolved. I asked what that meant. She said the AMOUNT might have to be changed, which sort of surprised me given all the coverage of the issue and the clear implication that current owners would not see their dues increased immediately beyond what we contracted for. Then she said once the postponement was lifted, they would just hit our account for the amount due, which w/b several months of dues hitting all at once. So I emailed Member Services asking if the amount of dues was subject to change immediately, and whether, when they start collecting dues, they would at least notify us before they suck it all out of our bank account so we might have some advance notice. Maybe we could use a credit card BEFORE they hit our account, to keep us from bouncing checks. Just thought I'd share.
