We are going to our 1st cruise on 8/31 and would like to meet anyone who would cruise that day too.

wait....we might be going on your cruise. The title of the thread says 2005 ~ I assume you meant 2006

I started a thread too and just shamelessly bumped it again looking for someone, anyone that was going with us!! :teeth:

it will just be me and DH ~ celebrating our 10th anniversary! I wish it could be a 7 night cruise, but I just couldn't leave the kiddos for that long ~ not that I wouldn't leave them, I just don't have someone that could take them for a whole week!

Anyway ~ hopefully you meant 2006, not 2005...it would be nice to have a fellow Diser on board! Only 5 months away :sail:  :cheer2: :woohoo:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Maybe that's why nobody was responding to my post!!!

I am so glad I am not the only dis member to go on this date... I can already smell the waters...

Awwwwwwww...Happy Anniversary!!! My DH and I also went on a cruise on our 10th Anniversary but it was on Carnival Cruise. But this time we will be going with our 2 DS 10 and 8. This would be their first and they can't hardly wait... We will be spending 4 days @ WDW before the cruise.

glad to see you changed the date to 2006 ;)

I was begining to think there was no one from DIS onboard!! I was thinking we might be able to get a heck of an upgrade too if the ship is that empty!! :rotfl2:

My girls are 16, 8 and 5...they had a blast on our 4 night cruise last August. They are pretty sad they can't come with us this time, but I have a 7 night Western surprise trip planned for next January :woohoo:

Do you have any excursions in mind yet? We did the catamaran snorkle in Nassau last year and had a good time. DD5 was petrified to be in the water, so DH and I took turns sitting on the boat with her. We also did parasailing on CC ~ DD5 went into the kids club. I am thinking we might just stay on the ship on Nassau day this year and go to the spa...didn't have the chance to last time

We can only wish!!! :wizard:

You have girls... lucky you! :rotfl: I was thinking about doing the 4 days cruise with the boys but school starts and they also wanted to do the WDW. We went to WDW last year but didnt' have time to do everything. I have been thinking about doing the Western Cruise for a while now and I might just do that too. Can't do it on January but Maybe sometimes on May or August again. My DH and 2 DS wanted to do the Parasailing, banana boat ride and snorkeling and just hang out. I wanted to do some excursion and maybe do the catamaran. What can you recommend in Nassau?

Is it August yet??? My boys just can't wait... they keep asking me about it EVERY DAY!!!

the catamaran snorkle in Nassau was good...we had never snorkeled before, so I don't know how it compares with other snorkeling excursions. It wasn't too long ~ we were able to get back onboard around lunch time and enjoy the pools. DD and I went to the straw market on the way back to the ship...I picked up a couple of t-shirts for the kids, but that's about it. I didn't really like it much.

I've heard that Atlantis was good, but pricey. Some people say you can book a day room either at Atlantis or at the neighboring Comfort Inn (they can enjoy Atlantis ammenities) and get wrist bands to enjoy their pools and water slides etc.

We never did the banana boat...DH and I meant too, but forgot about once we got the kids into the clubs and moved over to Serenity Bay for the afternoon!! I am so looking forward to hanging out on that beach again!!

I haven't let myself get too excited about this trip...for a while I wasn't sure we would even be able to go...I was going to ask my MIL to take the girls for us, but she already babysits DH's neices and nephews all during the year. I didn't want to overload her. DH's sister offered to take the girls for us, so now we are good to go!! :cheer2: :woohoo:

I do feel a little weird taking a Disney cruise without kids, but I know that the ship is clean and beautiful and we had a blast last year....I did look into other cruise lines, but nothing appealed to me for the shorter cruises. I was afraid the ship would be run down or we would just be kicking ourselves saying "why didn't we go DCL???"

I am also kind of worried that we will see all the kids having a great time and feel guilty about not taking our kids, but hopefully we will just be able to enjoy ourselves for a change knowing that we will be bringing the kids in January!

Maybe your boys could make a countdown chain or calendar...I just saw on another thread that someone put an equal amount of jellybeans in a jar to the number of days left to the cruise. they let their kids take a jellybean from the jar each day until they are gone....a fun and yummy way to count down the timne left!!

hopefully others will join in soon

This is also our 1st cruise and we will be doing the 4 day resort stay before too. My 10 year old daughter was hoping she could find a girl her age to chat with and hang out with once there. Her neigbor did that last year on the mexican cruise and had the best time with the friend she met.

Hello... I am glad we have another dis members going to the same day... :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: yeyyyy... Maybe your daugther could be friends with my DS 10 yrs old.

Where are you going to be staying on your 4 day resort stay? We will be at SSR from Aug. 27 - Aug. 31. My kids can't wait already for this cruise. It will be their first and they can't stop talking about the food they are going to eat... so funny... just like mom. :rotfl:

We will be at the GF from the 26th-31st. We are really hoping it is not crazy crowded. We usually go on the off season. My daughter is so excited too. Will you guys be going on excursions or mostly hanging on the boat. We definatly will be exploring off the ship but the young one is looking forward to hanging out in the kids area on the ship.

Kan do Dis

hi there kandodis!
Good to see another DISER on board.

Last year we went to WDW ffrom 8/24 - 8/28 and it wasn't too crowded for us. We saw a quite a bit in such a short period of time. The key for us was planning and getting to the parks at opening (actually getting to the gate about 30 minutes before opening....the lines can get large)
Also, we did not take advantage of extra magic PM hours....only the AM hours which were great. I have heard that the PM hours are crazy crowded.

We are skipping WDW this year :guilty: but are loking forward to just relaxing on the ship!

hey! Only about 2 months left!! Got my spa ressies online earlier this month, airfare is all set (yay Southwest!), car rental ressies done....now that all that is done, this waiting is the hardest part!!

Anyone have any plans for Nassau day? We are going to the spa in the AM then DH wants to head over to Atlantis to check out the casino for a "few minutes"

Checking my reservation on Disney Cruise almost everyday waiting to see if my stateroom has been assigned yet, but it's still listed as GTY

Just thought I'd check in and see if anyone else new is going to join us :beach:

Hi Cepmom!

I knowwwwwwwww!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:   2 months to go! I can't wait. But we are leaving for Orlando on Aug. 27 to head to WDW first for 4 days! So actually its less than 2 months now! :cloud9: :cloud9:

This waiting stuff is killing me! I got my Palo Reservation, the parasailing in Castaway and the banana boat ride. My kids can't swim so I got them a private swimming lesson next week. I haven't plan anything at Nassau yet! My dad is in a wheelchair so I don't know what excursion would be good for him. I think we are just going to get a taxi and go to Atlantis and the Straw Market for a couple of hours and them get them back to the ship and my family and I could do other stuff too. What's good @ Nassau??? I want to make this special for my parents too since this was a 45th year anniversary gift for them.

As for the GTY on your stateroom, here's pixie dust pixiedust: pixiedust: hoping you get an upgrade. We are in stateroom 2030. I am going to ask when we get to the port if there would be available upgrade for fee.

My Dkids are sooo excited already and now they are in that phase, when are we leaving Mom! I started with 182 days now only 60 more days to go! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Hi there ~
We are down to 15 days to the cruise!! DH and I will be leaving for FL 2 weeks from tomorrow. I am getting so excited ~ I can't stand it!! I wish I could start packing, but seeing as it's hot as heck here, I am still wearing all the clothes I want to pack!

I just got through DD9's birthday party and now I can focus more on picking up all the things we need to get still as well as getting the kids ready for back to school.

They start school on 9/6, so no time to shop for them when we return.

Found out my stateroom assignment ~ a small upgrade to a cat 11 on deck 6 ~ yay!

How are you guys doing? Your boys must be so excited!

I did see another thread for this cruise ~ hopefully they will see us over here and join in.

What time are you planning on arriving at the port?
last year we were a little later than I would have liked, so this year I am going to try and get there by 10:30 so I can spend some time looking around the terminal, get onboard early and enjoy the ship ASAP!

We should try to meet up at some point....do you have a Mickey Head to wear?

Just saw this thread. Posted on the other thread. Am going with 2 other moms. I cannot wait! My DH and I have taken our 4 kids (and both sets of our parents) on two 7 dayers and my DH and I went on the Western 7 day by ourselves after those. It was GREAT! When we went alone we stayed pretty much in the adult only areas so really didn't see all the kids too much. There were a few times we said we wished the kids were there, then we'd go lounge by the adult pool and think "ahhhhh". You will have a great time.
My friends and I are in 2066, so we are close. I can't wait to see their reactions to this cruise! Maybe we'll all take our DH's and DKids next time.
