As our trip gets closer and closer I'm finding myself sort of dreading it. Not the trip itself, but there's so much excitement and fun in the anticipation of the trip itself. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to get there. But it's nice to have something so great to look forward too. Anyone else feel the same way - you can't wait for the trip to begin but dread it because the fun of anticipation is gone?

I know the feeling - I don't sleep right about 3 days before we leave because I'm thinking of the last minute packing items, cleaning the house, and all those other silly pre-vacation rituals. However - once we land at MCO I am Miss Mellow Girl. But yes, the anticipation of the trip can make one go crazy!

    I, too, can relate.

But after a two-week trip, I'm glad to be home, and at the moment, we all feel quite Disney-ed out. Never thought I'd say that.

I know what you mean. I am so excited about the trip but also am worried that we will not have a great time. I do not want my kids to say years from now "why did you make us go there?, we hated it!" :confused3 I know that I am just stressing myself out but I always panic before we leave.

I agree that planning is part of the fun of it all! I remember when we went to Disney 4 years ago and I was really bummed when I got home. We look forward to it for so long, and then it is over in a week(at least for us it is only a week)! Guess we just have to enjoy the time we are at Disney and take LOTS of pictures!!! I just keep thinking of how I get to scrapbook all the pictures when I get back. I even bought the Creative Memories Mickey coverset! That will be fun to put together! Have a good trip everyone!!! :sunny:

WOW I thought I was the only one that was feeling this way. DH has never been and I have been so busy talking it up that I am actually worried he won't like it? Ridiculous I know but there it is...

In 2002, I took my first DW trip with my DH and felt exactly the same way. I had gone a number of times with my family, growing up. He had never gone. I am a Disney fanatic, and I was also afraid that I was so hyped up because I am nuts for DW and anything Disney, that when my DH got to experience it for himself, I thought that he might not feel the same way. Was I Wrong!!! He loved it! It was the best DW trip ever, because I was with him and I got to see him feel like a little kid again. It was so wonderful. Now, we are going again (leaving in 7 days!!! -- well, really now it's 6 days and 18 hours), and he's been just as excited as I am this time. It's so great to share that with him. Don't worry. When you and your DH arrive, the Disney Magic will get a hold of him. It's hard not to.

I am having the same fears. I have planned and planned for our upcoming August trip. We are going with some people who have never been and so the planning has been left up to me. I fear that they will not get the same feeling that I have. There are 4 teens, 3 of whom have never been. I have tried to build some things in for them but again, I am fearful. All this time and money could be wasted if they don't have a good time. Guess I am really stressed.

The planning of my disney trip is half the fun. When all of the planning is done you can actually sit back and relax. But then I feel myself getting bored- thank goodness for these boards and you great people!!! Once we actually embark on our trip and while at Disney we are already planning our next trip- sick ain't I???? What's life without Disney???

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I love the planning, and end up doing most of it. But, I kind of feel that it's my responsibility to see that everyone has the best time possible. I've only been to WDW once before, having grown up in So Cal, and DL, but will be going with others that have never been, I just want everyone else to love it as much as I do!

The night before I really cannot sleep...just like in the disney commercial! :happytv: I'm so excited, and anxious, and worried I've packed everything (because I'm notorious for forgetting things). I literally have to knock myself out with hot chocolate. The drive down is one of the funnest parts- I make special cds for the car, including one with some of my favorite disney songs. :rolleyes1 Then it gets exciting to start seeing the "Disney signs". Once you arrive in the first park it all goes by pretty quickly because you're having so much fun. But then on the last day I get a little sad because I know I'm leaving. But its all totally worth it! :)

My DH and I love that commercial! :happytv: We always say that it depicts how we are, even though we are in our thirties. Already, we're having trouble sleeping and we're not leaving until Thursday. The bad thing is that we are leaving super early (3:30 a.m.) to go to the airport, and we are debating whether it's even worth going to sleep that last night. Part of us thinks that we are going to be so off the wall :Pinkbounc that we won't be able to. The other is more reasonable and says that we better get some sleep or we'll crash at some point with fatigue during our first day. The good thing is that we aren't going to a park until the next day. That first day is just hanging out at the resort and DTD.

Any suggestions anyone? Should we bother trying to go to sleep?

I too know the feeling. This morning I got up and I was like yipee we will be leaving for disney in 2 weeks. Then by the middle of the day I'm like hey we will be on our way home in 3 weeks and it will all be over. :sad1: All the planning will be over and then before you know it it will be august and time for DD to go back to school and me to go back to work. I'm really going to try to focus on the positive for the rest of the two weeks. :thumbsup2

I leave in three hours for WDW!!! My DH and I are so excited, that we are simply staying awake. :yay: :yay: :yay: We planned for our first day to be a day to relax anyway, which is good, because we couldn't sleep even if we wanted to. Maybe we'll catch some z's on the plane.

lol, I know what this is like, sadly our last night home, I must get sleep, I'll have classes just before we leave, and I don't think it would be a good idea to sleep through those, especially as a first term freshman, first marking period is so important, it basically sets you for the rest of college! grrr.....

I'm really happy my BF is coming along, but I to am worried he won't like it (when I told him about the plans, he said "are we going to Islands of Adventure?".......I'm afraid he won't like Disney as much :(

But we should have fun!! My sister is excited, watched the planning video at least once a day (more like three at this point, and its about 4 months away) the funny thing is she is afraid of the charaters, so if there is any that she wants autographs for she goes to me when they come up and says "sissy, will you get me Lilo's autograph?" The list so far is about ten charaters, :rotfl2: hmmm, maybe I should keep a word pad so I dont forget any.....

We also are listening to Disney music, like all the time (I kinda of am now  ) My sister and I know the words to "Whale of a Tale" from 20,000 leagues under the sea and the "spectrum song" by heart, and we do a funny dances everytime they comes on :dance3: :woohoo: . we are 9 years apart in age (me-17, she-8) but its more like she my daughter (expect for the rivally when my folks come home :rolleyes1

Anyway, done blabbing with loose lips, all in all, we do have a let down, but try not to think about it, just enjoy it while you have it, and take lost of pictures and hang out on DIS and plan your next trip to make yourself feel better!

I know what you mean!!! I have been obsessing (and having a blast) over planning this trip for 6+ months. The majority of my free time has been spent doing something related to our Disney vacation (mostly reading/ posting here on the boards!). I was just thinking the other day that I will be in withdrawal when I get back! My next trip is tentatively planned for the summer of '08. Should I start right away and spend 2 years planning the next trip?? :rotfl:

We just returned this past weekend. Believe it or not, we started planning our return trip before we even left! Though everyone has said it's a crazy time of the year to go, we are planning on going for Christmas and New Year's '07. Can't wait!!!
