Are there any beaches with some 'serious' waves on Cozumel or Costa Maya?

I don't imagine that there are on Castaway Cay but how about the others. My little guy likes to chase the waves and try to jump over them. I've only been to Cozumel and I don't recall there being any and I know nothing about Costa Maya. Of the two places, any suggestions as to where to rent waverunners the most affordably? Thanks!

On Cozumel the Eastern shore is very choppy. The day we were there it was to choppy to swim with whitecaps. Also, the shoreline is very rocky so it would not be wise to jump the waves. It looked a lot like the Maine coastline, but with much nicer water. I don't know about the waves at the beaches in Cozumel, Playa sol, Mr. Sancho's, Paradise, as they are on the west shore of the island and the water is much more tranquil. I wish I knew how to post a pic to show you.

    Let me try this...

    Hopefully that will work!

The current on the east side of Cozumel is very strong. Be carefull.
