We are staying here in Sept for the first time. We have twins that are 10 yrs old and a 4 year old. We picked the resort for the nice pool and easy access to EP and HS. I have just read that some people are saying the rooms are "worn". I know we are paying for location, but for $400/night, I don't want old rooms.;) Any comments on recent stays? Thanks

Worn? I thought they recently renovated? Are you sure you didn't read that about the BC villas? Because IMHO, those are the rooms that look worn.

We just stayed there last month and I had read a few of those comments as well but I didn't find it to be in need of an update at all. There were a couple of the tiniest details in our room that were a little worn but nothing worth complaining about. I have heard the villas are more in need of an update but haven't seen them myself.

Think I read the reviews on tripadvisor. It said BC not the villas but maybe they just didn't write in Villas. Just hope the rooms are in decent shape.

Well we had a room on the 5th floor club level and my MIL had a standard view room on the 4th floor and both of them were very nice rooms in great shape. I really wouldn't be concerned by those reviews.

With twin 10yo and a 4yo...you will barely see the room. Can you say Storm Along Bay???

We are staying there a few nights (for the first time) prior to a BLT stay, and I say, no worries. It isn't a modern design (like BLT), but few beachy places are. As long as there isn't a bedspread, I'm good!

    Have fun!

I recently stayed here and while its not a favorite, I wouldn't say the rooms were worn. The hallways maybe, but that happens, especially at such a busy resort. The room was beautiful with full balcony overlooking the "quiet" pool.

In my opinion, the yacht club did seem fresher and cleaner to me. Both have that great pool though.

BC is my favorite resort on property! We stayed in a fourth floor room overlooking the quiet pool with the lake and Boardwalk in the distance and my only disappointment was that our balcony was only big enough for one person to stand--I didn't know some rooms had full balconies and some didn't so I didn't specifically request one. Other than that I wouldn't say the rooms were worn or anything. You're definitely paying for location but you're also paying for the incredible pool and other amenities.

We stayed there in April. While I wasn't thrilled with our stay (sorry BC fans, please don't :duck: ;)), I wouldn't say the rooms were worn. The hallways, however, were a different story. The carpet consistently looked like it was in need of very good vacuuming and it was buckled pretty badly - like ripples high enough that I felt I needed to look down when walking because I was afraid I'd trip. And it wasn't just in a spot or two. Now granted, we had a lot of hallway to cover because we were in one of the rooms way down by the "secret" exit to Epcot.

We were at the BC two weeks ago, and yes, I feel like it's worn, particularly compared to our stay last year at the YC, which seemed much fresher. Carpet in the hallways was just as described above (coming up in places at the seams, buckled, spotted, worn, etc.); our door to our closet was coming off the hinges; the elevator by our room had buttons that were broken and was out of order several times during our stay.

I'm a Disney lover just as much as anyone else here, and I love the location and theming of the BC/YC resorts, but a $400 a night hotel shouldn't be in such sad shape. The Yacht Club seems to be in much nicer shape and condition, and if we were going back this year, that's where I'd choose to stay (or I'd stay at the Boardwalk).

We just stayed at BC in June for 5th time and we love it! I agree that the hallways are a bit worn, but I probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't read it on here. Our room was great as usual! However, my one complaint is that the walls are PAPER THIN!!! We had VERY loud neighbors for several nights at the beginning of our trip. There child was screaming at 3 AM and they didn't even try to quiet him. However, I do understand that at a family resort you are going to get this. I just wish they had made the walls a little thicker. Can also hear all hallway noise. With that said, I would NEVER not stay there because of this.

My take on the BC (after doing a split stay at BC and Poly last December):

Rooms did show a bit of normal wear and tear (most noticably in the bathroom) but not enough to detract at all from the experience (overall, I really like the feel of the decor of the BC rooms).

I didn't like the ambiance of the resort as much as the Poly. While I find the theming attractive, it isn't as relaxing or enveloping. I also thought the resort seemed more chaotic (especially BC Markeplace in the morning) and the average guest more pushy and rude.

SAB, while really cool, is, IMO, too big for its own good. For example, I didn't like having to walk outside of the the pool area to get on the water slide. On the other hand, the CMs at the pool were wonderful, especially the guy doing the music/games for the kids in the afternoon (keep in mind, this was in early December when the pool is less busy).

As others have stated, if you like Epcot and DHS, the location of the resort is its biggest selling point. The advantage of being less than a 10 minute walk from World Showcase cannot be understated, especially after Illuminations. Being within walking distance of the Boardwalk is also very nice.

We're also big fans of the Cape May breakfast and it's great to be able to get to this so conveniently.

Overall, I like the BC as a home base for my EP and HS days on a split stay (or if I were on a trip where I was only visiting those parks). Not sure if I'd ever book it for an entire vacation, especially if I planned to spend multiple days at MK (there are at least 3 or 4 other resorts that I think have better ambiance/theming and better transportation to MK and/or AK).

i agree with this on the rooms v. halls issue but we only stayed one night before our cruise at the end of April. I didn't love our short stay (although we had a great view of sab and i think the bw) but think it was the club level i found to be disappointing and not bc. it is a nice hotel, but if i stayed at an Epcot resort again i think i would give yacht club or bwi a try.

Our room at BCV was quite worn. The bathroom especially. Can't speak to the regular rooms.

I'm not sure I am liking the sound of this. :worried: - I booked BC for our October trip - I know the location is fantastic (especially for F&W) - but there are no discounts (yet - fingers crossed;)) - so it is a lot of $$$ and I am not feeling the *:lovestrucLOVE:lovestruc* . I may rethink our plans.
