Hello!

My 8 year old son needs a lot of visual tools to help manage his expectations. We usually use picture schedules, but that is a little too involved for me to make for each possible attraction at each park (plus, we are working on flexibility with him).

I am looking for a great picture-only map for each park (similar to the traditional one, only without the legend key numbers and letters). I'd like to laminate one for each park so that when we are at Pirates and he starts working himself up over wanting to ride Dumbo next, we can show him the map and he can see all the other rides we will pass that he will also want to ride, and we can then readjust his expectations. Just telling him verbally doesn't work for him, and he isn't able to read at all, so any letters would just confuse him. I've searched everywhere, but I can't find anything that has the small drawings of the rides from the general map without the letters covering them. I've tried to screen cap from the MDE, and that kind of works, but if anyone knows of a map, I'd be eternally grateful.

All the maps I have seen have letters or words on them unless you go to a GPS map like this screen capture.
But this might be kind of hard to navigate from.image.jpeg

Let me see what else I can come up with.

I can create a labeled map with the google maps just like SueM in MN just posted above. What parks are you going to and when are you leaving for your trip. I'm leaving on my trip this coming Thursday and won't be back till the following Monday but if you need it right away I will try to make them ASAP.

The closest I've seen is in the MDE app. It has markers for some attractions and wait times for others, but no real words.

This is one idea - taking that map from above and dropping pictures on it.
I just added enough to get the idea. And, the screen capture is not high quality.

Here's another possibility. The pictures are color coded by area

Don't know if this makes it better - putting half of the map makes it bigger though

Other half of map with a little overlapimage.jpeg

Where did you find these symbols I'm making CoriM48 maps for each park and I love those little symbols but I need more for every park is thier a website with those on it.
I made it using an iPad communicatin app called Proloquo2Go.
The stick figure symbols are part of the app. The buttons with pictures were just grabbed from the Internet. I sized them to the buttons, added a colored backgrounds and the same color border inside of Proloquo2Go.
They are inside of the app in that format, so they are not in a format I can share, other than doing a screen shot of the communication page.
