any good buffets around town?

anything good open up? last trip we ate at the wood grill buffet, not bad , but they closed it to turn into a golden corral. I'd love there to be a ponderosa like they used to, with the all you can eat chicken wings etc ( do any of their locals still do that?)
prefer not to go to golden corral, (& lobster places,, beeen there , done that)

10-15 years ago there used to be tons of Ponderosa's and a couple of Golden Corrals,today there's tons of Golden Corrals and just a couple of Ponderosa's.The Ponderosa's were getting junkier as the years passed so I'm fine with them dissapearing,I haven't been in one in several years.I like Golden Corral,I don't do the buffets as much as I used to but I have no issues going into Golden Corral.I did that Wood fire Grill about two years ago and I thought it was slightly better than Golden Corral but also slightly more expensive,on my last trip I did notice it became another Golden Corral.The best buffet I've done in the last couple of years was at the Seminole Coconut Creek casino down here in south Florida,but still about 50 miles north of me.Its funny there's also a Golden Corral right across the street from that casino,luckily I don't live near there or I would gain a bunch of pounds eating at those buffets.

I do enjoy the Golden Corral but I did notice that of the ones on 192, there was one better than the rest......but I can't remember which! Does anybody have any idea which one is a cut above??

Take Hwy 50 West heading into Clermont

On the Left .... Before you join Hwy 27 there is A Golden Corral

( It is not on the Tourist Trail )

There is a " Gas Station " at the entrance.

You can see the Disney Fireworks from there. Not sure if you can see the New

( Being Built ) Ferris Wheel up by Universal Studios.


Have you tried food in "The Cracker Barrel " Restaurant Chain ?

Well worth a visit.

Really? Didn't know that, thanks for the info. Oh wait. I just looked it up and it is the Wood Grill Buffet. Owned by Western Sizzlin. Still listed, maybe still in business. We have one in Charlottesville VA and the lines are always out the door.

I live in Clermont. There is no way you can see the Disney fireworks from here. Also this location is at least 30 minutes away from Disney.

I might be wrong But take a trip to The Golden Corral and go to the gable end of the car park & face down the hill looking towards Hwy 27 south

The Gas station will be on your right .

Look over to your left say towards Animal Kingdom and you should see them.

You might also see them from Scofield Road on the 5 mile sand road Circuit.

( On Left on Hwy 27 South just before Large Mast )

The Clermont Golden Corral is one of the best , if not the best ,

around ... Clean , Good food , good staff .

It may be 30 min drive from Disney area But that is the attraction for a lot of people.

We drive to there from beyond Cagans Crossing on Hwy 27 ( about 25 miles )

We do have places to eat , which are nearer to us , on the 192 butwe do like

a buffet choice of meal.

Well, shoot . I preferred the quieter atmosphere of Wood Grill to Golden Corral. And their ice cream was better, too.
