Any DREAM Concierge Reviews?

other lines have reserved theater seating for concierge guests. I put this in my comment card and spoke to someone about it. If enough ask for it, it may happen ...... doesn't hurt to ask

That's one of the many perks I appreciated about our Suite experience on our two NCL Epic cruises. They do not have actual reserved seating for the shows but Suite guests meet at the concierge desk before showtime and are escorted into the theatre through a back door before the non-concierge passengers. No waiting in line. :goodvibes It's nice because you have your pick of any seat in the theatre instead of one set area.

I hope DCL does eventually add a similar perk.

Why would they bump you?

I'm pretty sure it's a connecting room and I'm worried they'll take it to connect with the suite next door.

Simply call DCL or your travel agent and have them put a "Do Not Move" notation on your reservation.

I'm considering it, but wouldn't want to keep a family from having connecting rooms, if they're the only connecting concierge rooms.

You can still put a "do not move" notation on. Just because some new person WANTS a connecting room doesn't ensure that it's available. You booked first when that particular cabin was open to be booked. If you don't have the notation, then its possible they'd change you.

Put that notation on, and it's probably NOT going to happen. Of course with any cruise line, they can change just about anything they want. But they are far less likely to do it, except in a case of a need to do maintenance on a cabin.

I have called DCL before to ask if a particular cabin is available. If it is not, then I am just told, "sorry not available".

I think the RARE case would be the two V's and the Cat T that are next to the Royal Suites. Actually #12000 (the T in between the RS) and the two Cat V's rarely show up on the website, probably because they tend to hold them back. I HAVE seen them online...just not often.

So call and do it.

We are scheduled to stay in 12510 in October and would love to see pictures of the room and especially the verandah if anyone has any.

Both if you don't mind. Did you like the room?

Thank You

You're welcome! We did like the room, even though we really didn't spend much time in it! :goodvibes The pictures I have give you a pretty good idea of how tight it is with the pull out couch open to get to the balcony. I would definitely recommend this cabin to watch the fireworks from...awesome view right out on the balcony!

Not sure if that will work...if not the pictures are on page 36 of this thread :)

We were on the Dream back in Oct 2011 room 12010 and had a wonderful trip. It actually made us happy that we had booked a concierge room again on the Fantasy. We leave in just over a week and can't wait! The concierge team was terrific and really made the cruise even more special for us. We had Tom, Eddie, and Julia. Julia made being in the lounge entertaining for our daughter, at the time 6yrs old. We were thrilled to hear she would be on the Fantasy and we can't wait to see her.

I actually think our daughter is more excited that she is going to be on the Fantasy than anything else. She truly took great care of us on the last day when we looked at all of the pictures that had been taken. Can't thank her enough, along with the rest of the concierge staff for making it a magical first cruise for all of us!

The only negatives for us were the food at the Royal Palace, I wasn't thrilled. We were actually a little upset with how all of the photos taken in the Atrium, which is character picture area, were horrible color wise. Husband is a photographer which has made us both picky about photos.

All in all it was a great experience!

Right now on the Fantasy, the Concierge team is: Julia, Kemisha, and PJ. (yes, the PJ who was the Palo Manager) All three are fantastic!!!

I can tell you that 12512 is absolutely wonderful! We had that on the Dream in February, and will have 12506 in 12 days on the Fantasy.

In 12512 you are mere steps to the Concierge Lounge. I totally loved the lounge!

There were times it was windy on the veranda, so I suspect that can be the case no matter which one.

I am one who will miss the gates.

how was 12506 vs 12512?
did you like one better than the other?

Actually, they don't hold them back. We booked the Royal Suite and Cat V room. We wanted the connecting room but it was taken and they refused to move the person in the connecting room despite there being tons of availability of other Cat V rooms on deck 12. And, 12000 was also taken and they would not change that room either despite me being willing to pay the extra fee to go from a V to a T. I was really disappointed, especially given the amount I paid for the cruise. I think they should hold them back until both Royal Suites are booked and they have confirmed that they do not want the connecting rooms.

Our Travel Agent made it happen. We didn't see either the Roy Suite or the connecting room available when we looked on line. We called her. The next day, she had the Roy Suite and the connecting with no problems.

When I have called Disney directly to book I have had a knock down drag out fight with them as they just repeat whatever is on their service card. I've found the TAs are able to leverage better with them. I was honestly on the phone for 2 days with Disney once. I decided to have a TA book the travel and she got it down, not without difficulty, in half the time.

I booked room 12000 on opening day for 2013. I would be very upset if I was forced out of the room I chose almost a year ago just because someone wanted it as a connecting room, so I am glad to hear they wouldn't force these people out of their rooms.

My TA had no luck either. I totally get not making someone move out of 12000 but it seemed silly not to move the Cat V - we had 12008, which is one of the ones with the bump-out larger verandah; I'm sure the family would have been very happy with a larger verandah. I just wish they held the connecting rooms back until the Royal Suites are booked.

Just wanted to add some concierge tips for future travelers regarding food in the lounge. I am vegetarian and have a dairy allergy so I wasn't able to eat many of the foods they put out during the day. But, they do have things that aren't put out. I was able to get a toasted bagel each morning just by asking. They also have peanut butter if you ask - they just don't put it out on the buffet. Also, they had a number of gluten free breakfast items all of which were vegetarian. Some had eggs in them but at least one did not and they were quite tasty. They also had soy and coconut milk in the back and said they could get rice milk too if I wanted. They sometimes had vegetarian sandwiches and things out at other times but most were mushroom based and I'm not fond of mushrooms but other vegetarians might like them.

So, if you have special dietary needs, make sure you let them know and ask if there are food items available that they don't put out on the buffet.
