We are staying at Beach Club Villas -- we are not actual owners, but rented points here.

I know that pool hopping to Stormalong Bay is not allowed. But as guests of BCV, are we allowed to pool hop to other resorts? I know, why would we want to...SAB is awesome. We are just curious and are considering buying into DVC, so we'd like to check out as many pools as possible.

    Thanks in advance! :D

    I could be wrong but....

I think you can pool hop as long as you have your room keys showing you are staying at BCV. ::MickeyMo

The AKL pool is also excluded from pool hopping.

I think the answer is - no problem! I think your card will say DVC member - that gives you the right to pool-hop (with the exception of AK).

If your not a member, you probably aren't aware of the details of pool hopping so I'll share them below. Primary is that you are suppossed to call the resort where you plan to "hop" to be sure they have availability that day. If a pool becomes crowded, you can also be asked to leave. There are also certain black-out dates which are listed below:

    Pool-Hopping Information for 2004
Members and their Guests staying with them at Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Villas, The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, and Disney's Beach Club Villas are permitted to use other Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World® resort hotel pools (in addition to the resort hotel at which you are staying) if the resort hotel pools are not at capacity. If the pool you are visiting reaches capacity, you may be asked to leave in order to accommodate Guests of that resort hotel. Please check with a Host/Hostess at the Front Desk of the resort hotel you wish to visit to find out about pool-access availability. You must present your Walt Disney World® Resort ID card with your "DVC Member" designation on it to use the other pools. This offer is not available at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts.

Resort hotel pools may become unavailable from time to time due to capacity limitations. Due to the high occupancy that is expected, Disney Vacation Club Members may not "pool hop" during the following dates*:
    April 3 - 11, 2004
    May 28 - 31, 2004
    June 28 - July 4, 2004
    November 22 - 28, 2004
    December 18, 2004 - January 2, 2005

With all of that being said - yeah - you should not have any problem!

Technically, renters are not entitled to member perqs. So you might not be able to pool hop. There have been a few members who had guests with them who did not get "DVC Member" on their room key. It may happen to you.
