Okay, I booked a 5 day carnival cruise for my family next April. We are excited about it but I am, also planning a trip to Disney in two weeks. A friend gave us a timeshare week she wasn't using and we were going to just buy a 1 day park hopper plus the 3-day waterpark and more add on.

Of course I've been dis-obsessing ever since and am talking myself in and out of a million different things! You know, "creative financing" and such!

Anyway, my question is (and the answer can't be BOTH!) should we nix the cruise and instead buy Florida resident passes. We are in Tampa and would get a lot of use or just stick with the cruise. I guess I'm weighing the whole 5 days vs a year of Disney;)

    What would you do??

For me, I would nix the cruise, but I'm not a Carnival fan so it's a biased opinion. You could always do Disney passes this year -- and make loads of trips -- and do a cruise next year. Being in FL, I bet you can get in on some pretty good last minute deals on cruises at any time!

GO ON THE CRUISE!! I am also in your area and we love going on the cruises out of Tampa. The thing about being a Florida resident is you can upgrade your tickets. I would start out buying the 3 day pass for $120, use up all your days, and then upgrade within 6 months to the seasonal pass for only $100 more, then if you need to upgrade again during to the annual is another $100...make sense?

Here are some current prices to help you make a decision. Note these prices are Florida Resident and do not include the 6.5% tax. (Shown as 10+/3-9)

    One day $60.30/51
    Three day $120/$100
    4 day $159/$132
    5 day $195/160
    6 day $206/$169
    7 Day $208/$171

To add Park Hopping is $15 for one day or $22.50 for three to seven days.

To add WPF&M to any ticket $25.00

    Seaonal Pass $223/197

    Annual Pass $339/$298

    Premium Annual Pass $445/$394

    Two important notes

    1. The AP and PAP are the only ones which include parking.

    2. If you are upgrqading, and your ticket has WPF&M on it, and you have used any of the WPF&M entries, you can only upgrade to an PAP (No SP or AP)
