Everything You Do, CELEBRATE YOU! - Polynesian - Club Level - TPV

I mean, I know Disney puts on a lot of shows, but I didn’t know we’d be getting our own… “private show”…
The workmen weren’t around for long, thank goodness.
It was an awkward experience, to say the least!
Disney entertainment at is finest...always coming up with magical extras to make your day unforgettable. :P
Something cool I noticed from the bed I was sitting on was that you can see the Contemporary right through the window, and without moving, you can also see the Grand Floridian reflected in the mirror!
Again, how does this room even exist? Seriously like something from one of the Disney travel ads.
Here are our first plates. The sausages wrapped in bacon were UNREAL.

You're really making me think club level is worth it. There's only one problem. I usually find that despite the treats and calories I consume at Disney, I find the amount walking seems to balance it out so I don't gain any weight. I fear the Poly club lounge would change that. But hey, you only live once...

lso, I can’t decide whether I love these dolls or hate them…
Someone decide for me please.

23709610563_41897f547a_b.jpg
You hate them. Trust me. These are the dolls they make in hell.

Hi Katie!!! Joining in and very behind! Loving the updates!!! I finally got my TR started from fall, so I am trying to catch up! Looks awesome so far!!!

Just found your TR and read it straight through! Can't wait for more. A couple of comments and questions...
Why does Virgin Atlantic show the spot where the Titantic sank on their in flight map? That's a bit creepy and should be considered bad luck! :scared1:
I wonder if Jamie should no longer be subjected to the "crotch view" if it causes him to put himself in strange positions and slide off the bed! :rotfl:
I believe the "secret" ingredient on the turkey sandwich at Be Our Guest is Dijon mayonnaise.
You two are cuter than a speckled pup under a red wagon and twice as cuddly! Trust me...in rural Southern US, that's a good thing!!! :cool1:

Looking forward to more (if I'm not banned now!) :rolleyes1

Yeah Mystic Manor is SO DIFFERENT! The only thing that really makes it "resemble" the haunted mansion is because it's in a "house." The tracks are like TSMM. We were really lucky to be there the day it opened because who knows if we'll ever get back lol. The Jungle Cruise over there is really funny too because there are different lines depending on what language skipper you want! I've never seen that at Disney World or DLC. Your pictures are making me so excited for our stay at the Poly in September, but we don't have CL so I have to be prepared for less amazingness lol.

I looked up Mystic Manor and it looks like the ride vehicles are similar to Paris' Ratatouille ride! Where you move through as a group of four cars but there's no track, and you move into different positions in each scene, right? How does it even work!? It seems so clever to me.
I hadn't even considered how different it must be in the Asian parks with the language barrier, that's good to know you can choose certain skippers on the Jungle Cruise! I sometimes complain about awkward silences on JC, but listening to is in Chinese would be something else

3436511.gif

Noooo you will still have the most amazing time at the Poly without CL!!!! To be honest we probably won't book CL again unless we win the lottery or something. It was a nice perk and I definitely don't regret doing it (of course), but the premium you pay doesn't really justify the snacks and stuff. I went into it like "I'm going to eat my body weight in snacks and get my money's worth", but obv that didn't happen  Just buy some snacks and booze for your room and you'll have basically the same amazingness :thumbsup2 Gahh the Poly is so so good, I even feel excited for you :goodvibes

It sounds lovely! The United Kingdom Lodge!

Thanks for the translations into "American".

Sorry to hear about your disappointing food and service at the Kona Café dinner. They are a favorite restaurant of mine, but their current dinner menu, I find less than thrilling.

Enjoying the glimpses of the club lounge.

YES! United Kingdom Lodge! That is perfect. Watch this space, it's going to happen :thumbsup2

Oh did Kona change up the menu or something? I hear so many great things about it so I was surprised we didn't enjoy it. We had a really good breakfast though, so at least that was redeeming!

I never appreciated the People Mover until this trip at about 2pm when it was hotter than all get out and I was getting cranky.

I hear you my friend :worship:

I can't wait to swing by the Poly this next trip to check out the new look!

Yes you should do this! I love it. I think the only people that don't really like it are those who had an emotional attachment to the old water feature. So as long as that's not you, I'm sure you'll appreciate it! :thumbsup2

Bahahahahahahahaha.
Dinosaurs-TV-Show-Baby-Laughing-At-The-Dinner-Table.gif

This gif makes me immeasurably happy. :rotfl:

I do not judge, I wore mine proudly most of the trip and my Birthday wasn't until 3 days after we left. No shame in my game!:cool1:

I don't get why people cry about the birthday buttons  like, the trip was a birthday treat, but you don't always have the time to be there on your actual birthday :confused3 it's fine by me!

When is that on?!? How am I missing this??!?!?!?!?!?

I think it starts 21st of Feb, and it's a 6 parter :thumbsup2 It's on my sky planner for sure ::yes:: I'm upset that I'm not seeing that Jaguar advert with my Tom anymore :sad2: get back on my screen asap!!! :lovestruc

Man candy?! :hyper: Really who needs a plot when there is man candy! Just look at Magic Mike! Did it really need a plot with an emotional element?

Magic Mike is a perfect example of this  it seems as though all these writers think "hey, we've got Matt Bomer, no one will be listening to the dialogue, and we'll get rich anyway. Let's go take a holiday :thumbsup2 "

I totally cracked and bought AHS:Hotel to binge watch! But my internet is soooooooooooo slow so I can't watch it!

Ooh goody! Once you get to watch it, tell me about all of your new man crushes please.

Also I bought Full House on iTunes in prep for Feb 26th!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Gahhh! I used to have them all downloaded on my laptop but they took up too much space so I deleted them once I'd finished watching :sad2: I might see if I can stream a few online before the new series :hyper: gahh I hope it's good, and just as cheesy :goodvibes and some similar variation of the theme tune would make me incredibly happy!

So true! I have soooooo much self control! Like I would upgrade anything! (Or would be considering some other type of upgrade...:rolleyes1) Lagoon view here we come! :rotfl2:

YOU'RE OUT OF CONTROL.

But of course!

good-with-ppl_1418812855.gif

:rotfl: (me in my interview last week) :rotfl2:

Only if they were still alive! I would love to be a shell bra for Chris Helmsworth but not if had to be dead to do it! :rotfl:

I had not considered that they would die in the process... This conversation got dark.

Men. Always blaming there equipment :sad2:

l9c7QVu.gif

:rotfl2: I am so using this line on him next time

I always thought it was "pretty good show us your bong" which felt accurate :rotfl:

How everyone feels when surrounded by singing animals :thumbsup2

I knew you looked familier! Errr.....I mean Smokey Glen that doesn't sound like it could be a porn name at all :rolleyes1

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Clearly best day ever! :lmao:

For reals! Any day with several crotches in your face is a great day. :upsidedow

I know!   Pick me!

Gaga is an angel, I wish I was her :lovestruc

Is it embarrassing to admit that I used to love this show..?!?

tumblr_ls62ashvws1qb8zer.gif

Screw you Pauly D, I'm supporting you. ... ... ... I used to love this show!!

Ohh Laa Laa! How does one go about booking the crotch view? Is it more expensive and do I have to pay in ones?

Exactly correct. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:but although the Disney crotch party is magical, it's not quite as magical as magic mike. It's slightly disappointing. Where's my Prince Naveen at??!!

YES! We need this! :rotfl:Then the buildings could be named after Emmerdale families! "Where is your room?" "Oh we are staying in The Dingles"

The Dingles! This is perfect!! I don't even watch Emmerdale and I know this is perfect. Also, this is probably completely :offtopic: but we just got back from seeing Joe Lycett (hilarious!) and Reverend Kate and her husband from Gogglebox were sat right behind us! (I hope you watch Gogglebox)

It is crazy how people in America instantly think because we are British we are terrible tippers! I always tip well (unless the service sucks then screw you dude) without being told. That is a self fulfilling prophecy giving terrible service cause you think your table will tip poorly cause now they actually will. :rolleyes2

That's exactly what it is, we were so torn between leaving a bad tip for the bad service and being considered "typical English" or just leaving an undeserved good tip, which is physically painful when you've been ignored for the whole meal!! And actually, the only other place we had bad service was at Ohana! So we've agreed to no Poly restaurants this year :sad2: although Trader Sam's is definitely not considered a restaurant :thumbsup2 :drinking1:drinking1:drinking1

I used to LOVE Pinky and The Brain!!

I hope you sang the theme tune when you read that  "One is a genius, the other's insane!" :dogdance:

You hate them. Trust me. Those things are CREEPY AF! And they are $49.95?! Errrr.....

giphy.gif

$49.95 is outrageous for those creepy dolls!! You're right I do hate them and their dead lifeless eyes. I think my conflict came from the cute little outfits. But yes, those faces....THOSE EYES.

precious-moments.png

WHY.

This is too funny!! I am so with you. I love it when the Peoplemover stops because it's like you get an excuse to take a break and just sit there! I guess that whole ride is kind of a relaxing breatk lol but even moreso when it stops!!

I'm loving reading about your trip and that there is so much more to it!! The Poly looks like such an awesome place to stay..I love visiting there and I can't imagine how nice it must have been to call it "home" for a while!

I'm so glad someone else is as crazy as me for being excited about the peoplemover breaking down  if only we could be this enthusiastic about regular traffic jams :confused3
Thanks so much Kathy, I'm glad you're enjoying it! I'm running a bit behind but I have a few days written out I just have to find time to post them! Hopefully now that I'm ahead of myself I can post a bit more frequently :goodvibes

Okay... you have no idea how tempting that is!
But I do believe I'll be in Banff with Ruby in September (at least that's the plan.)
But if she cancels.... I already have the leave booked, so... :confused2

Oh boy, don't tease us like this. We know you want to ...............

mYiJpxj.gif

oh thank god, I got my Katie/Jamie fix.

I am selfishly wanting you continue because we arrived 3 days after you for a week and I want to know where I ALMOST ran into you.

Seriously your reports are a delight. Well worth the wait.

Hey Tim! Thanks for your lovely message  Haha yes, look out for yourself in the background of my photos! I'm really glad you're enjoying the report :goodvibes I've got a few days worth of updates written out now so I should be able to post them a bit more frequently :goodvibes Thanks for reading!

That is so cool! Gosh, a TPV really seems amazing, since you have the most perfect views of everything!

Hey girl! Gahh I couldn't stop taking photos off the balcony, you'll probably be completely sick of it by the time this TR is over

I love that bread! I could eat that all day:rotfl:

YES it was amazing, I wish I'd asked for more to take back to the room (wow I'm cheap )

I'm sorry you weren't a huge fan for Kona, it could have just been the night...

Hopefully! I kind of put it down to being an off-night at Kona. Maybe we'll try it again some time, and if they change the menu up then we definitely will :goodvibes

Such a beautiful shop. I think that is one of the best additions DTDSprings::yes::

I agree! It's probably my favourite shop in all of WDW, they have such unique stuff in there :goodvibes

Yes! You guys really had such a successful and wonderful first day!:goodvibes
Can't wait to read more! :wizard:

Thanks for reading! More to come shortly :goodvibes:goodvibes

This picture is great haha! and i am pretty sure that is from AHS.... i only know from tumblr though haha

You know it! :thumbsup2

You guys look like you ready to rumble, I would trust you to save the world. :worship:

:rotfl2: Professional Space Ranger is our job

Better than no view at all :rotfl:(I felt the urge to use the dancing banana emoji here but i didn't want to be inappropriate.)

There's no such thing as inappropriate on this TR my friend! (Until I get kicked off the Dis..) ....:banana::banana::banana::banana:
If I ever win the lottery the first thing I would do is stay in one of the Bungalows ...one day

That's a great bucket list item for sure! I also can't wait to see what they're doing with these cabins at the Wilderness Lodge :hyper: I saw someone saying a few of those might have a theme park / fireworks view :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

If I only had a dollar for every time "come join a party, a castle party" was stuck in my head. I'd be staying in on the bungalows by now

:rotfl2: Right?! I'm sure they run that show at least 3 times a day now  although rumour has it it's leaving?! I'll be sad not to hear those songs anymore! :sad1:

Thanks for reading!

I am so loving your trip report. I just finished reading it through. I know I'm a little late to the party but it's only day two of Disney World so I know there's still a lot to come. I so appreciated seeing all the Disneyland Paris pictures. Don't know if I'll ever make it there but after reading your report I sure would like to go.

Hey, thank you!! And :welcome: You are not late at all, I am the one that's running very late  (I have some days written out though so I should be able to get on top of posting :thumbsup2) I'm glad you liked the Disneyland Paris pictures!! I think they're doing a few new projects over there so it should be getting even better :hyper: I hope you get to see it someday :goodvibes Thanks for reading!

I ran the half marathon this past January. I was glad I did it and trained crazy hard for it. They're addictive though, there are so many to choose from that's it hard not to sign up for another one. The races are so early in the morning it still leaves you time for the parks so a definite win/win, plus you get to see the castle like this.

WOW at the half marathon! GO YOU! :cheer2: And that's a great castle picture, I already see what you mean about them being addictive, I want to run through the Epcot resorts area but I also want to run through the castle.. So maybe I'll just do both..?! KIDDING, of course  I think I could run a 10k, but I bet the half marathon requires some serious training! Again, go you!!!!!

Bahaha Colleen this is perfect, exactly my face when I looked out the window :rotfl:

:rotfl2:Yeah, that pretty much impossible to walk away from that spread without trying something. The fruit alone looks amazing.

eat-gif.149442

And THIS is also perfect, gosh you know me so well already :rotfl:

But also, what IS that thing?!?!! What is this from!?

Oh, yay! Haven't heard much about Kona for dinner. Sorry it wasn't great for you but I'm glad to hear your review. I think we'll just do Kona for breakfast when we're there.

We also had breakfast at Kona and it was great! MUCH better than dinner, so don't be worried about that :goodvibes

That sounds perfect! Arctic Monkeys are one of my fave bands. :thumbsup2

Oh wow! I didn't know whether they were well known in the states, that's really cool that they are. They're from my hometown, and we were seeing them perform when they were young sprogs!

Sorry you had such bad service. I would have had a hard time not proving his assumption and tipping a lower amount. But I'm kind of a jerk.

Well that's just the problem we had! We didn't want to give a bad tip and reaffirm his beliefs about Brits, but we really didn't want to give him much of our money when he'd ignored us all night?! :confused3

We've never been there. Your treats make it a must try. I hope we visit when they're giving out cotton candy. Sammy told me recently that he's afraid he'll never have cotton candy again because I won't take him to the circus. :lmao:

:rotfl2:Oh Sammy :lmao: Yes, even when you're in your 30s, Momma will be denying you the cotton candy and trips to the circus :rotfl:

:rotfl:Poor Jamie. I'm one of those people who screams when people surprise me on the street.

I need to see this. Now I know how to approach you if I ever see you at Disney...

tumblr_lcbg1ok4oI1qdubemo1_500.gif

 Thanks for reading!

Okay, first I'm giving a warning that I'm typically more of a TR lurker and kind of new at this multi-quoting thing so please bear with me!

You did it perfectly!

I am actually going back although I just realized that I still had my old ticker from last year as my signature! I just fixed it, so thanks for the accidental heads up ;) But I'm going back for a girls' weekend (short trip) as a mini bachelorette party with my maid of honor/best friend/fellow Disney fanatic and I'm sooo excited!!

Ok, wow. A bachelorette party at Disney sounds GREAT. Will you be there during Food & Wine? Even better!

Okay, when we were there in October we rode Space Mountain twice and I'm pretty sure we rode both sides... is there really a difference? Because my first ride I loved it and my second ride, it felt so different and less fun!! I just figured I was crazy! (Which is probably still a little true:rolleyes1)

I have no idea, I always assumed they were fairly similar until I rode it this time, and it just felt really different :confused3 Maybe we're all crazy here.. :teeth:

I am loving the inner vampire picture... just beautiful.:thumbsup2

Bahaha THANKS. It seems like it was one of those moments where you know you're about to get a ride picture taken, but you have no faces or hand gestures prepared, so at the last minute you just do the first crazy thing that comes to mind

So. Jealous.

You can be Galactic Hero too! Believe in your dreams :thumbsup2

Aaaaand jealous again! My ultimate Disney vacation dream is definitely to stay at the Polynesian... My now fiance proposed to me on the beach there during fireworks in October!! Holds a special place in my heart.

Omg, your fiance is an actual angel. What a perfect proposal!!! That sounds so dreamy, I would cry my eyes out if I was ever proposed to like that

I had to laugh at this! When we were there in October, we had to leave MK early enough one night to catch the Penn State Nittany Lions game (football!)... Disney doesn't trump my fiance's love for his football team.

Haha, this is my life too!!!! At least they're nice enough to come to Disney with us in the first place, we should count ourselves lucky I suppose :goodvibes

This looks the same as the bread they serve at Ohana for dinner! We ate there on our last trip and it was sooooo yummyyy. I still dream about this bread along with the dessert they served... Of course, I basically had to be rolled out of the resort because I was so stuffed. Totally worth it though!

Ughh don't get me started on that Ohana bread pudding dessert... :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc it is perfection!!

We got these on our last trip too and I'm pretty sure it's thanks to you! I remember reading your previous trip report before we left and you had a picture of them and they just looked sooooo goooood!! One of my guy's favorite treats on our trip and he has already requested another one the next time we go. I knew there was a reason I read these trip reports.:thanks:

Woo I'm so glad I'm spreading the Mickey treat love!!! They're one of our favourites too! (I feel like Jamie and I could be you and your fiance in an alternate universe..)

Can't wait to read more about your trip!! (And I think I survived the multi-quoting process, although it did take me a minute or two.)

Yay thanks for reading! More to come shortly :goodvibes and you nailed the multi-quote! :cheer2:

I suppose he is quite brave...he also wants to do ToT, EE, and RnR!! I don't know if he'll be tall enough for RnR but definitely he can do ToT and EE. I didn't do ToT until I was almost 20! He's definitely braver than I ever was :rotfl:

That little guy is CRAZY. To be fair I did RnRC as soon as I was tall enough and loved it, but I also did ToT as soon as I was tall enough, and it scared the bejesus out of me :scared: I want to know what Jacob actually enjoyed once you guys get back. I refuse to believe I was such a wuss as a kid :thumbsup2

You have no idea how much I can't wait for this to happen :love: Laying in the hub grass in the middle of MK with Christmas decorations and music all around me...that is my happy place!!

It sounds so perfect! And it's THIS YEAR :hyper:

Best to just own it...and you own it very well :flower3:

Oh, um, thanks.. I think.. I don't know whether owning being a Hufflepuff is a good thing or a bad thing :confused3

GaGaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....she slayed this season! I am a fan for life now :lovestruc

Me too! I want to be her, but I'm too silly, and no where near elegant enough

Great picture of ya'll!! :goodvibes

Thank you friend!

That could even put Voldemort in a good mood!
"Blast! That midget in glasses has foiled my plans for world domination again! Avada Kedav-....oh look, it's the Poly lobby. How lovely!"

:thumbsup2

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

* Voldemort walks into the Poly like *

For the briefest of moments I was very impressed because I though Jamie followed American basketball AND that he was a San Antonio Spurs fan. But alas! Just soccer...typical British stuff. Womp womp ;) :rotfl:

Womp! Jamie's just getting into NBA, he's decided he supports "Golden State".. I think that was just the first team he watched and he decided to support them  Who should I support?! (/ who's really good?!) I need more rivalry in this relationship :thumbsup2

Is this an option when booking your resort? I don't remember seeing "crotch view" on the list :scratchin

You have to pay a premium and reserve fastpasses for it :thumbsup2

Nom nom nom!!! I love cheese and fruit...I think that might be one of my favorite food combinations ever. Well, that and sushi. This looks soooooooooooooo yum!!
Me eating all the cheese and fruit that the Poly concierge has to offer:
OrHFWUm6CNnFu.gif

The club level offered sushi some days too! You would be loving life :goodvibes

UGH...that is terrible!! I will never understand why people (especially in the service industry) make assumptions like that! It's so very rude! Sorry you guys experienced that :sad2:

I know :sad2: we didn't know how much to tip because we didn't want to be those typical Brits who don't tip, but he definitely didn't deserve 20%, he practically ignored us :sad2: I guess we got some great service at other places to make up for it :goodvibes

Candyfloss makes me think of candy you use to floss which seems a bit counterproductive if you ask me :scratchin Counterproductive but delicious! :hyper:

:rotfl: Like brushing your teeth with Nutella  (brb going to buy Nutella :thumbsup2)

Pinky and the Brain!! hahaha this is a fantastic recreation of them! :rotfl2:

I'm glad you appreciated it! When I posted that I was singing the theme tune all night  :rolleyes1

Great updates!!!

Thank you for reading!

Also...are you planning your next trip yet??? :teeth:

YES! We'll be back in September at Animal Kingdom Lodge! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

I love AHS! You know you can get it one a t-shirt right?
33456acaaa22fb500d9c7f8ec7e13d4b.jpg

Love this! :lovestruc

Why thank you, Commissioner Gordon

That's really disappointing that you'd get lesser service just because of his preconceived tipping ideas. We don't tip really in Australia either but I always tip 20% in the States unless the service is terrible.

Yeahh I understand him being a bit salty if he's received bad tips before, but if you're giving out bad service you're going to get bad tips anyway. Just a simple smile goes a long way with me, even if they don't have time to chat. I just don't want to feel like a burden when I'm giving them $$$ you know?! But as I've said before, we had some really great service at other places that made up for it :goodvibes

No judgement whatsoever! People who get worked up over birthday buttons need to get a life
tumblr_mz0ayddRql1rjpgsjo1_500.gif

I'm glad!! Some people seem to get really upset about it :confused3 thankfully no one I've encountered here on my TR though! I mean, if it's your actual birthday, your friends/family/travel companions will know about it, and they're the only ones that matters, surely? Oh, and you'll still more than likely get your tiny free cupcake, it it means that much to you :rolleyes1

Also, I love Freaky Friday! :thumbsup2

Haven't seen a single episode from any season.

Must rectify that some day.

If you can appreciate a good looking, half naked man, you will definitely enjoy it :thumbsup2

A stall for a few minutes = awesome.
A stall for several minutes = great.
A stall for an hour = well, I made the best out of it.
A stall for a day = I want a refund! I want unlimited FPs!
A stall for a week = dead from dehydration. Sad, really.

:rotfl: I'm not one for demanding refunds and other types of compensation over nothing, but if you get stuck on the people mover for A DAY, then I'd probably allow it

Totally intense face.

That's what happens when you save the galaxy for a living pkondz. The wrinkles are setting in.

What the heck happened to your hair?!?!?!?!

 thanks friend

And are you a fan? Or what did you do while he watched?

I don't follow it, but Ienjoy it I guess, I don't mind having it on TV on a Saturday and Sunday. I think that gets me a couple of girlfriend points :cutie:

Pixiedust! Usually you have to pay extra for that.
In the form of dollar bills stuffed in the waist band.

They've updated the payment method, now I can just scan my magic band over his, er, nevermind.

It has the magic ingredient, so...

"Hello I'm pkondz, I'm just your average Canadian guy."

61N3yYOjgEL._UY679_.jpg

That's totally not right. You should provide your best service to everyone equally.
It's a self fulfilling prophecy if you say "They won't tip well, so I'm not going to give them good service."
Stupid.

Don't you just want to leave a note or tell him:
"We tip really well. But your service was so lousy that we won't."

This would've been good, albeit slightly passive aggressive  sadly not my thing. But what else do you do in that situation?! Give him a good tip to prove a point, or the bad tip that he deserves? :confused3

Omg, I laughed out loud at this!!! :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: I have saved it to my desktop, I thank you. You'll probably see it appear in my signature or something, once I get around to rearranging it. Thank you for the laughs my dear

To bad. Although I think yours might be the first review of Kona from a non-breakfast standpoint.

We had breakfast there too, which was really good!!!

Never been.
Soooooo want to.

September..... :thumbsup2

mYiJpxj.gif

Have you seen the video of the raccoon who tries to wash his cotton candy?

NO but I love raccoons so this is something I need to see.

I will!!
I find you... Cute and innocent.

Seriously... don't care.

:cutie: :cutie: :cutie: :cutie: :cutie: :cutie: :cutie:

Thanks for reading pkondzi!! Hope you have an amazing time in Maui!!! :beach:

Disney entertainment at is finest...always coming up with magical extras to make your day unforgettable. :P

:rotfl: Although it's a ticketed event that requires a fastpass for a good view :thumbsup2

Again, how does this room even exist? Seriously like something from one of the Disney travel ads.

It really is! Owww I miss it so much it was perfect :sad2: I just want to paint my bedroom green and buy a second bed.. Not sure how I'm going to recreate that view though

You're really making me think club level is worth it. There's only one problem. I usually find that despite the treats and calories I consume at Disney, I find the amount walking seems to balance it out so I don't gain any weight. I fear the Poly club lounge would change that. But hey, you only live once...

Oh totally!!! If you keep reading, keep an eye on how much I ate/drank this trip, then be amazed when I tell you that I actually LOST a few pounds by the time I got home!! It was some serious Disney magic  But you're right, the walking really balances it out, my pedometer shows the lowest day was 15,000 steps, and the highest day was 30,000 steps (!!!!!) but generally around 20-25,000 steps a day! Incredible!! It's nice to know I don't really have to worry about what I eat while I'm there, even with the club lounge! :thumbsup2

You hate them. Trust me. These are the dolls they make in hell.

"These are the dolls they make in hell" :rotfl: you got that right! Imagine having those sitting on a shelf, staring at you while you sleep  :scared:

Thanks for reading!

Hi Katie!!! Joining in and very behind! Loving the updates!!! I finally got my TR started from fall, so I am trying to catch up! Looks awesome so far!!!

Hey girl! Gahh we are so behind with this trip reporting business  Looking forward to checking yours out :goodvibes

Hey! Thanks for reading :goodvibes

I've no idea why Virgin Atlantic show the Titanic on their map.. To be honest I've never really thought about it, but a few people have mentioned it, and now it does seem slightly weird to me :confused3 It's like "Hey! You're going on holiday! ...Yeah, all these people were going on holiday too...." o_O yeah ok, that is officially weird.

Haha yes! Jamie did seem to be... channeling some kind of.... excitement....

Ooh thanks for the turkey sandwich tip! We love that thing. There's something magical about it, maybe dijon mayonnaise it what we've been looking for :worship:

A speckled pup under a red wagon! That's a new one! And I like it :thumbsup2 THANK YOU! I don't know many rural southern US terms, but if I ever find myself there, I'll be sure to use this one

Thanks for reading!

But also, what IS that thing?!?!! What is this from!?

I have no idea. :confused3 I think I googled something like "buffet food love."

Oh wow! I didn't know whether they were well known in the states, that's really cool that they are. They're from my hometown, and we were seeing them perform when they were young sprogs!

I love them. My favorite alternative station plays them, I have all their albums. How lucky you are to get to see them in small venues!

I need to see this. Now I know how to approach you if I ever see you at Disney...

tumblr_lcbg1ok4oI1qdubemo1_500.gif

:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

I think it starts 21st of Feb, and it's a 6 parter :thumbsup2 It's on my sky planner for sure ::yes:: I'm upset that I'm not seeing that Jaguar advert with my Tom anymore :sad2: get back on my screen asap!!! :lovestruc

Got it set to record :thumbsup2 February is turning into a good month! ;)

Yes I miss that advert too! Let's just watch it again now! ::yes::

Magic Mike is a perfect example of this  it seems as though all these writers think "hey, we've got Matt Bomer, no one will be listening to the dialogue, and we'll get rich anyway. Let's go take a holiday :thumbsup2 "

To be honest I would do the same thing as the writers. Expect I would take Matt Bomer with me on that holiday! I'm sure his husband won't mind! "Ooops! Sorry Matt I seem to have forgotten to pack any of your clothes! Oh well!":rotfl:

Ooh goody! Once you get to watch it, tell me about all of your new man crushes please.

ahs-american-horror-story-donovan-hotel-Favim.com-3628598.gif

Ummm....hands down (don't make a rude joke) the BEST man candy season yet!! Was it the best season for plot? Not really but who the hell cares?! Just take your shirts off boys and I'm happy! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

ahs-american-evan-gif-Favim.com-3744609.gif

But Gaga was P-E-R-F-E-C-T! ::yes::

And Dandy got all man..dy! :rotfl:

tumblr_nyi7qmov6b1u5q3xuo1_500.gif

But we all know that Donovan was the real reason we watch it!

5ecc946d6e5328d33ebdc6c17edd18ec.gif

Le sigh! :lovestruc

I just watched the episodes where they go to WDW and I think I know where my love of the GF first started! Judging by the trailers it should be just as cheesy as ever!! :rotfl:

I'm pretty sure the theme song is the same but I think it's now sung by Carly Rae Jepson!

I seriously cannot wait! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

YOU'RE OUT OF CONTROL.

giphy.gif

:rotfl: (me in my interview last week) :rotfl2:

I would totally have hired you! :thumbsup2

I had not considered that they would die in the process... This conversation got dark.

It sure did! :rotfl2:
:rotfl2: I am so using this line on him next time

You should!

How everyone feels when surrounded by singing animals :thumbsup2

So true! :rotfl:

For reals! Any day with several crotches in your face is a great day. :upsidedow

Livin the dream ::yes::

Michelle-Tanner-You-Got-it-Dude-Full-House.gif

Gaga is an angel, I wish I was her :lovestruc

I love Gaga but I still wish I was Michelle instead! :rotfl:

giphy.gif

Is it embarrassing to admit that I used to love this show..?!?

tumblr_ls62ashvws1qb8zer.gif

Screw you Pauly D, I'm supporting you. ... ... ... I used to love this show!!

Yes it's very embarrassing Katie. Who would love that show?! Oh wait...I did...:rotfl:

tumblr_lz9vfcVTAl1rpsvhdo1_500.gif

I still say this all the time! :rotfl2:

62e.png

Rahn Stap!! :rotfl:
Exactly correct. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:but although the Disney crotch party is magical, it's not quite as magical as magic mike. It's slightly disappointing. Where's my Prince Naveen at??!!

Now THAT is what they should have as the new castle show! Magic Naveen and Friends!

:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

Look!! Naveen was made for it! :worship:

hqdefault.jpg

Oh and Eric too! :faint:

PrinceEricLittleMermaid-vi.jpg

And look at Flynn Rider! (Don't make a rude joke about rider...:rolleyes1)

flynn-underwear.jpg

Okay maybe they should call the show this:

tumblr_lhc9g9mB0l1qevf2o.jpg

Hey Disney you need help casting this Katie and I are free :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

The Dingles! This is perfect!! I don't even watch Emmerdale and I know this is perfect. Also, this is probably completely :offtopic: but we just got back from seeing Joe Lycett (hilarious!) and Reverend Kate and her husband from Gogglebox were sat right behind us! (I hope you watch Gogglebox)

Oh my gosh how funny!! :rotfl: Also Joe Lycett is
hysterical!

Yeah I couldn't leave a good trip if service was like that. I'd just let them think I was "typical English" and keep my money for a serve who deserved it! That really sucks that the Poly service was so bad :sad2:
But Trader Sam's is not a restaurant and has booze so it's all good! :thumbsup2

I hope you sang the theme tune when you read that  "One is a genius, the other's insane!" :dogdance:

Ermmmm....OF COURSE! Is there any other way to read it?! :confused3 :rotfl:

$49.95 is outrageous for those creepy dolls!! You're right I do hate them and their dead lifeless eyes. I think my conflict came from the cute little outfits. But yes, those faces....THOSE EYES.

WHY.

AHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAA!!!! :scared1: :scared1:

Day 3
Thursday 24th September 2015
Part 1 – You’re a wizard Hymie.

Good morning!

We’re going to Universal today!

We got up early and brought some breakfast from the lounge back to our room.
Jamie was MUCH healthier than me

24532282479_2e55e13124_b.jpg

It was another beautiful day here at the Polynesian, but those dark clouds were back over the Magic Kingdom!

24271714364_6f0fe3a7b3_b.jpg

I know I probably sound like I’m taking happy pills or something, but I do honestly enjoy some good storm clouds.
Especially when I’m not underneath them :thumbsup2

24806468501_052625fe84_b.jpg

At 8:15am we headed down to the lobby to wait for our Uber driver.

24604357640_737bf9f115_c.jpg

24272944413_70a933824a_c.jpg

24873515646_411c96d4cf_b.jpg

24781883252_bea15112c6_b.jpg

Uber was a great idea I took from the comments on my last trip report, thanks to everyone who suggested it!
(The Mears shuttle is reasonably priced, but makes multiple stops and sometimes takes FOREVER.
Last year we used cabs and they were quick, but super expensive.
Uber is cheap AND quick!! With great service too.
Top marks from us.)

Our driver was called Charmaine and she was lovely.
We talked about Clearwater Beach and whereabouts you tend to see sharks and gators in Florida.
We also talked about the 8-foot king cobra that had escaped and was on the loose in the Orlando area (!!!)

We arrived at Universal at 9am!

24806422091_23a67fd7a0_b.jpg

And I should also mention, we arrived BAGLESS.
With everything crammed into our pockets.
Putting your bag in a locker and having to retrieve it at every Universal ride is the worst.
(Or just first world problems.)

24781862152_6ec4c9768e_b.jpg

I was so glad to be back.
I love Universal!
(I know… THE BLASPHEMY.)

We had the 2-park passes so we figured we’d just go wherever we fancied and hop between the two.
We started at Universal Studios!
They were all decorated for Halloween.

24873476256_3c562abee3_b.jpg

We walked straight over to Diagon Alley because we wanted to get it done early before the crowds picked up.

They really did a great job with the London façade.
Everything is dead on, from King’s Cross, to the tube station, and even down to the font on the English parking signs.

24781838522_37639f21f4_c.jpg

In we go!

24781829492_2862304d82_b.jpg

We took a leisurely stroll up Diagon Alley and looked in the fun store windows.

24604266930_89f3573eef_b.jpg

24271589994_364fb94f5f_b.jpg

We made our way up to Escape from Gringotts, but it was closed due to technical difficulties!
At 9am
Of course it was.

4dcea3a0-c5a5-0132-46b6-0e9062a7590a.gif

So instead we left Diagon Alley and went to King’s Cross to ride the Hogwarts Express.
We may as well head over to Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure to ride Forbidden Journey early on!

24873422356_c32a5e3a45_b.jpg

You can hear us start laughing at 00:45 because the line "something from the trolley dear" reminds us of a certain internet meme...
(Which I can't possibly link to a Disney forum )

24899718215_4991a22374_b.jpg

Soon we arrived at Hogsmeade!

24781789872_7b6ceb9757_b.jpg

24806337671_1499dd9ea0_b.jpg

Here is our destination, isn’t it beautiful.

24899705845_d69c629e8a_b.jpg

The line was only 20 minutes, and we were constantly moving through.
Even if it was really busy, there’s so much to see in the castle that I’m sure time would pass quickly!
If you don’t like thrill rides, I recommend still walking through the line and taking the chicken exit at the end, it’s definitely worth seeing.

24604220470_bb3498d74b_b.jpg

24806319011_d249212c21_c.jpg

24532079029_869c1b8336_c.jpg

While we were in line we discussed which subjects we would take at Hogwarts.
I said that I’d probably be good at Potions because I’ve worked in a couple of cocktail bars, but Jamie reminded me that a few weeks ago I burnt our spaghetti to the bottom of the pan, and he told me I couldn’t be trusted with a cauldron.
Dreams = shattered.
Jamie wants to take flying lessons so that he can become captain of the quidditch team.
Who’d have thought he’d want to compete at something…? :rolleyes2

We also reminisced about that time Dumbledore relentlessly teased the Slytherin school children with the house cup.
“Yes, well done Slytherin, welcome to the Slytherin theme-party, you’ve won by 160 points…

LOL JK.
170 POINT TO GRYFFINDOR!”

tumblr_ldl5advpyR1qfvra2o1_500.gif

(If you haven’t read/seen Harry Potter, this is literally what happens.)

:rotfl:

It’s just plain cruel.
You couldn’t have made that announcement before you decorated the hall Dumbledore?!
It’s no wonder they turned out to be the bad guys. :rolleyes1

Anyway, here's a few clips from the queue.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is probably my favourite ride at Universal, it is SO good.
The technology behind it is really smart, and the ride is thrilling and fun and all round greatness.

After the ride we bought a bottle of “Gillywater” (ie. regular water)... for $4!!!!!!

tumblr_lwmfyfKciM1qdq5u6.gif

I like that they have a lot of healthy snacks at the outdoor carts though. They sell fruit cups and bags of grapes, and even entire melons.

24532073509_0915e33112_b.jpg

We took a stroll towards the exit to Hogsmeade and made our way to our next destination…
Or so we thought.

Part 2 – Islands of Adventure and Gringotts

Due to my Disney obsession, I can boast the fact that I know all of the Disney parks like the back of my hand, and I never need to use a map.
But unfortunately that arrogance followed me to Universal, and when I marched us to Jurassic Park, we actually ended up here.

24899657555_bf3f5e4132_b.jpg

Instead of turning back we decided to just own it have a little look around.

The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride had a 5-minute wait!
So why not?!
“Because you’re in your twenties and you’re childless.”

Well to you I say

giphy.gif

24873348686_c286bde2c6_b.jpg

I don’t know why Seuss Landing is often labelled as a kid’s area, there’s plenty of high-brow entertainment in line for this ride.

24272761993_bca773d7c6_c.jpg

24271494854_3afc4f0315_b.jpg

We boarded our train and began our grand circle tour of tomorrowla- er, Seuss Landing.

24899636775_1021da112f_b.jpg

24806254351_9e983172ac_b.jpg

24532013139_70418d5422_b.jpg

It’s actually quite a fun ride, in a PeopleMover kind of way.
You go right over the water and get some nice views of Islands of Adventure!
However, the audio is probably one of the most incessantly annoying things I’ve ever heard in my life.

:rotfl:

It’s literally like that the ENTIRE ride

We disembarked and had a quick look in the candy store, then we continued around to Marvel Super Hero Island.

24899616925_999f9b7770_b.jpg

24781681622_6a7cae601a_b.jpg

We always see characters in Marvel Island, and they’re always really into it!
Today we saw the Green Goblin jumping around and scaring everyone.

24604117270_96bc6d3c3a_b.jpg

We were going to ride Spider Man, but the line said 25 minutes, and we thought it looked longer (it was out the door) so we decided to skip it for now.

Jamie had a look in a clothes store.
He loves Marvel but he likes his clothes to be minimalist.

9e7ecacf-e6a5-456f-bd8a-33ec589ac600-680x1020.jpeg

No not like that.
I mean understated.
The t-shirts here are all quite loud and colourful, so he didn’t buy anything.

We continued through Toon Lagoon, and we decided to get lunch.
At 11am.
o_O
Yes, I just had a bagel and a muffin about 3 hours ago, but we were hungry, and passing THIS place, so it had to be done!

24806217811_b551d9f91f_c.jpg

The woman at the register was really nice, we talked to her for about 5 minutes. She recommended we check out Saint Augustine!
I’ve googled it and it does look magical. I’d like to explore more of Florida sometime.

Fun fact that demonstrates just how boring we really are:
We ate here at Blondie’s last year.
And we ordered the exact same sandwiches.
And we sat at the exact same table.

GIF-adventure.gif

24781661752_807ca05052_b.jpg

24271434594_914c1746cb_b.jpg

Jamie had the Dagwood Sandwich and I had the turkey with cheese and lettuce.
I’m sure my sandwich was bigger this year, which is great because last year I said I’d probably be able to eat two of them!
Plus it comes with a side of potato salad, which I really like!

Once we'd finished lunch we continued through Toon Lagoon.

24271425284_15ede64c92_b.jpg

I always have to stop for this photo opportunity!

24806185021_9d7426a319_b.jpg

We were amused that everyone in Toon Lagoon seems to be soaked!
Since 2012 we’ve given these two water rides a hard pass.

24806172241_fd8787c900_b.jpg

24272655553_a21d3fe295_b.jpg

Adam-DeVine-No.-Hard-pass.-Hard-pass.gif

As we moved on to the next area we came across something that I’m looking forward to...

24899529405_c21d6b0aee_b.jpg

King Kong construction!!

We inadvertently joined a tour group on our walk, and we heard the guide say that before King Kong had officially been announced they obviously weren’t allowed to reveal anything, but they were allowed to subtly slip in that this area was “under kongstruction”.

We finally made it to Jurassic Park, and even though we didn’t feel like getting soaked on the water ride, I just love being in this area so much.
The music loop gets me really excited, gahhh I love Jurassic Park so much.
We just hung out for a while and explored the area.

The Raptor Encounter had a really long line, but we watched it from afar for a while, SO COOL!!!!

24873217406_ab619ed618_b.jpg

24272633223_80571f7ace_b.jpg

After mingling with some dinos we continued on back to Hogsmeade.

24604023560_06c68f399f_b.jpg

24781569242_b89a0832c0_b.jpg

24899491465_afeb56e227_b.jpg

We looked in the owl shop, then decided we wanted to head back to Diagon Alley and try to ride Gringotts!
So we took the Hogwarts Express back to the other park.

24781558602_0d1c2deb65_b.jpg

It was past midday now so we were a bit concerned about the line.
As we approached I saw what I thought was a 120 minute wait time… :crazy2:
But turns out it was 020 minutes! YAY.

24603991910_0f0b0c4f0e_b.jpg

Gringotts boasts being one of the safest places in the wizarding world…
But they leave their gold out in a little shopping basket in the middle of the room. :rolleyes1

24271317674_c04f248be2_b.jpg

Seems legit. :thumbsup2

24781530142_95dce27c24_b.jpg

24603971910_502623cfb9_b.jpg

Escape from Gringotts was epic!
The ride technology is so smart!
I wish it had more drops and fast movements and general vomit-inducing aspects.
I prefer that to 3D screens and simulations.
But it is partly a moving coaster, and overall I like it a lot!

As we walked down Diagon Alley I caught this on camera.

24603967530_803a5e8eff_b.jpg

This happens fairly infrequently, so I was happy I managed to catch it :goodvibes

We had a look down Knockturn Alley, oh boy, it’s a creepy place.

24781514262_cf3b714a1f_b.jpg

But these guys seem friendly.

Then we went into Weasley’s and bought a chocolate frog!
But more on that later…

For now, we said goodbye to Diagon Alley.

Part 3 – Universal Studios

We were now heading next door, to something that would quickly become a favourite of ours…

24603944100_62da51f15f_b.jpg

Men in Black: Alien Attack!

Oh, and when I say “a favourite”, I really mean it was the main source of tension in our relationship for several months following this trip.

For those of you who are unfamiliar, this is a shoot-out attraction with lots of animatronic aliens that you have to shoot between the eyes.
Some aliens are worth more points than others…
A LOT more points.

But what it usually all boils down to, is THE RED BUTTON.
Oh, the red button.
At the beginning of the ride, Will Smith says,
“That red button in front of you? Don’t even DREAM of pushing it!”
Well, (Spoiler alert!!!) you go through the scenes shooting aliens, then at the end you hear,
“There’s only one thing left to do: PUSH THE RED BUTTON.”
And if you hit it just right, you get 100,000 bonus points!!

In fact, everyone in the car can get the bonus, if you all press AND HOLD the button at the same time, on the word “push”…
But if you button-bash like I enjoy doing, as long as you hit it first and at the right time, you’re the only one that gets the points…
Wow, I’m such a jerk.

Anyway, on the first alien attack of 2015, I’m winning 66,000 to 49,000…
We come to the end and…
BUTTON-BASH!

AF2047E9F555BF358E182C66087C3B2E8DCC6A82

Boom.

166,000.

:rotfl:

This was Jamie’s face as we were exiting.

24806030191_4e4c4203a4_b.jpg

I said I should buy this to wear

24899376235_0cb4d63290_c.jpg

We vowed to return later for a rematch :thumbsup2

We found a bench outside Men in Black for our chocolate frog break!

24873059736_35dc8544c9_b.jpg

Short-story time!
For anyone who missed it, I posted this in last year’s TR:

I was excited to see which Wizard card we got...

22400438198_6ac1690078_b.jpg

FOR GOODNESS SAKE HELGA

I got her last time!!!!

(I think this is a sign that I would be in Hufflepuff.
What are Hufflepuffs good at?
Oh that's right.
NOTHING.)

(Whilst writing this update, Jamie and I took a sorting hat quiz, and this legitimately happened...)

22829976951_666294916d.jpg

(LOL. But what's even worse news for me, is that Jamie got SLYTHERIN!!)

WELL.
When we bought the frog earlier, I’d said to Jamie,

“I don’t want another Helga, so you better pick one.”

He went with his instinct, and picked the one he was drawn to, and who did he get?

24603873970_0d589dcf8b_c.jpg

Salazar Slytherin!!!!!
And the quiz we took last year had told him he’d be in Slytherin!!!

That’s three for three!

It’s official, chocolate frogs act as your sorting hat.

I forgot to get a photo of our frog before Jamie bit into it, so here’s a frog with no nose.

(How does he smell?
Terrible!!!!

I loathe myself for writing that.)

24271203364_cc1e773488_b.jpg

We enjoyed our chocolate frog, we ate the whole thing.

Then we went next door to ride The Simpsons!
I love this ride.

24271196484_ddb69d5206_b.jpg

The queue is entertaining because they show theme park related clips on the TV screens.

24781406652_03e55d6064_b.jpg

They played an oldie but a goodie…

“No, come along, Bort.”
“Are you talking to me?”
“No, my son is also named Bort.”

:lmao:

That tickles me every time.

We enjoyed The Simpsons ride very much, it’s clever technology, thrilling, AND funny!
I think it's my favourite after Forbidden Journey.

Afterwards we looked in the shop and THIS cracked me up!

24805928541_b349653718_b.jpg

And obviously, they were sold out!

“We need more BORT shot glasses!”

24272381423_14b9fb6baa_b.jpg

Next we went to check out the times for Animal Actors on location!
It was now 2:15pm, and the next showing was at 3pm, so we had some time to kill.

We spotted the Doc running around :lovestruc

24531644279_868dd1da3d_b.jpg

24603762900_ffbca6b98e_b.jpg

24603757950_ff5d0d712b_b.jpg

Gahhh I love those films so much.
I remember riding the ride as a kid, before The Simpsons took over.
I don’t remember much about it but I know I was swallowed by a dinosaur.
(For any other big BTTF fans out there, click here and watch this if you haven’t already! The guy who plays Biff is a funny guy!)

Anyway, we continued around the lake.

Jamie had to go to the bathroom so we found one by Rip Ride Rockit, and I had a look in the Halloween Horror Nights store.

24603721300_3fd521ff77_b.jpg

When I was done I went outside to wait for him and get a shot of this awful creation.

24899191065_34305f9153_b.jpg

I turned back around and saw Jamie heading into the shop I’d just come out of, so I walked after him, and as I turned the corner he jumped out and scared me!

We were NOT riding Rip Ride Rockit, if that’s what you thought.
Like I’ve said many times, I love proper coasters, but I cannot handle that vertical incline at the beginning, it feels so unsafe and it makes me really anxious and shaky for the rest of the ride and I just can’t enjoy it :sad2:

So we went to ride The Mummy!

24603697610_9528c7cff2_b.jpg

This is an unappreciated ride for sure!
There never seems to be a line.
And it’s a scary coaster, which is always good.

We always enjoy the quote at the end of the ride,
“I would’ve enjoyed this interview a lot more if I had gotten my CUP OF COFFEE!!”
The Mummy returns was on TV the other day and Jamie just went,
“………CUP OF COFFEE!”
Anyone else would think he was insane, but we understand each other so it’s fine

Then it was time to head back up to Animal Actors!
Jamie and I are both huge animal lovers, particularly dogs, so this is right up our alley!

Look at this gorgeous boy!!!

I wish it was acceptable for me to raise my hand when they ask for a child volunteer.

24872807356_caa9926ea1_b.jpg

This clip is greatness.

The show was so good!! The dogs are SO cute!!

At the end they come out and stand on the walkway so you can pet them!
This little ball of fluff is absolutely LOVING life!!

24781179312_aa60303f09_b.jpg

Next we walked round to E.T.
And we saw Scooby and the gang on the way!
How precious.

24872794666_f4ae26f451_b.jpg

E.T. is such a classic attraction!
Apparently it was one of my favourites when I was a wee sprog.

24531484869_63a494569c_b.jpg

I was happy, because they were taking names and giving out the adventure passports today!
That means E.T. can say goodbye to you personally at the end!
I told Jamie to tell them his name was Hymie, but sadly he didn’t.

24270944414_d6f1f6172a_b.jpg

Listen out for him saying our names at the end!

I still love the first half of this ride!!
It’s so nostalgic.
The second half is trippy and ridiculous.
But overall it was enjoyable!

I found this funny looking guy in the gift shop.
He looks like E.T. and Quasimodo had a love child.

It was almost 4pm when we left ET, so we went back to Men in Black for our rematch before leaving the park.

Men in Black had a 25 minute wait so we decided to go single rider (with the promise of taking photographic evidence of our scores to compare), but our timing was perfect, because a big group of people were waiting for the preshow, and the rest of the line was empty!
So we walked straight on, and got to sit together :thumbsup2

Omg, this game.
I was NAILING it, with over 110,000 to Jamie’s 30,000 BEFORE the bonus…
As we got towards the end, Jamie adopted my button-bashing technique and stole the 100,000 bonus points, beating my by a fraction!!!!

24872774246_498246e4b2_b.jpg

:furious:

Still, my score was pretty impressive considering I didn’t get a bonus!

We headed out of the park at 4:15pm, stopping briefly to watch Straight Outta Food Truck, what an amusing concept.

We were very happy with our day at Universal, especially considering we didn’t buy the Universal Express Pass :goodvibes
We had two week tickets, so there's plenty of time to come back for more fun.

We booked an Uber and we headed out of the park.

Click for Day 3, Part 4!

YES! United Kingdom Lodge! That is perfect. Watch this space, it's going to happen :thumbsup2
Great, I'm happy that you like it!
Since I came up with the winning name, will my first week's stay there be free? ;)
Oh did Kona change up the menu or something? I hear so many great things about it so I was surprised we didn't enjoy it. We had a really good breakfast though, so at least that was redeeming!
They did change the dinner menu a while back, and I'm not a fan of the new one, but I still like breakfast and lunch there.
Omg, I laughed out loud at this!!! :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:
So, you're saying you enjoyed being a breadhead!

At 8:15am we headed down to the lobby to wait for our Uber driver.

What a brilliant idea!! Funny because it is so smart and I don't think I'd have ever thought of that...

If you don’t like thrill rides, I recommend still walking through the line and taking the chicken exit at the end, it’s definitely worth seeing.

That would be me lol

It’s actually quite a fun ride, in a PeopleMover kind of way.

I loved that ride...but then...Peoplemover is my fave lol...but yeah could do without the music.

What a great day so far...you had pretty good luck with the lineups too!

Hey there! Im following over from @BibbitybobityLu's PTR! Im not all the way up to date yet but Im loving your TR. You and your boyfriend are so cute together! I just booked a trip for myself and my boyfriend at the end of September (its his first time!) and I know he will be just as in love with Buzz as your boyfriend! :rotfl2:

Cant wait to read more!

This is seriously gorgeous! I can't wait to be there.

We also talked about the 8-foot king cobra that had escaped and was on the loose in the Orlando area (!!!)

That story seriously would have freaked me out. I would have been on the look out the entire trip.

They really did a great job with the London façade.
Everything is dead on, from King’s Cross, to the tube station, and even down to the font on the English parking signs.

24781838522_37639f21f4_c.jpg

That's high praise coming from you!

I said that I’d probably be good at Potions because I’ve worked in a couple of cocktail bars, but Jamie reminded me that a few weeks ago I burnt our spaghetti to the bottom of the pan, and he told me I couldn’t be trusted with a cauldron.
Dreams = shattered.

They sell fruit cups and bags of grapes, and even entire melons.

Entire melons? Do they come with knives and scoops?

Instead of turning back we decided to just own it have a little look around.

Why not?

We always see characters in Marvel Island, and they’re always really into it!
Today we saw the Green Goblin jumping around and scaring everyone.

Your report seriously has me considering a quick day trip to Universal in August. I think the boys would love this since they like Marvel. But isn't Marvel - like the Avengers- owned by Disney? :confused3

Fun fact that demonstrates just how boring we really are:
We ate here at Blondie’s last year.
And we ordered the exact same sandwiches.
And we sat at the exact same table.

Not boring, you just know what you like. ::yes::

We inadvertently joined a tour group on our walk, and we heard the guide say that before King Kong had officially been announced they obviously weren’t allowed to reveal anything, but they were allowed to subtly slip in that this area was “under kongstruction”.

Yeah, that's subtle. :rolleyes::rolleyes:

I love this photo. :goodvibes

This was Jamie’s face as we were exiting.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I forgot to get a photo of our frog before Jamie bit into it, so here’s a frog with no nose.

(How does he smell?
Terrible!!!!

I loathe myself for writing that.)

:lmao:

So for some reason all my quotes didn't get copied over and I'm too lazy to go back. I know, I suck.

Love the Simpsons stuff. And all of the videos and pictures of the Animal actors stuff has me wishing my dog was smarter. She's actually plenty smart, just not at all obedient.

I'm not a fan at all of Universal but your report has me seriously thinking about making a trip soon. Now that the boys are getting older there's a lot of stuff there that's relevant to them. Great pictures and stories as always, Katie. :goodvibes

I love your trip report. I really need to take a day for Universal on my next trip. Thank you for posting pics of Disneyland Paris for all of us who may never see it in person.

Hey Katie! Yay more updates!:goodvibes
That is great to hear that you and jamie were happy with the Uber car service to US! I would love to go see the Harry Potter stuff one day - it all looks so cool! When I do get to go, I will remember this tip to take Uber!
Here is our destination, isn’t it beautiful.

24899705845_d69c629e8a_b.jpg
So so so so cool. I bet it's even better in person!:hyper:
I always have to stop for this photo opportunity!

24806185021_9d7426a319_b.jpg
Love this!:rotfl2:
As we walked down Diagon Alley I caught this on camera.

24603967530_803a5e8eff_b.jpg
Great shot! That came out perfectly!:thumbsup2
In fact, everyone in the car can get the bonus, if you all press AND HOLD the button at the same time, on the word “push”…
But if you button-bash like I enjoy doing, as long as you hit it first and at the right time, you’re the only one that gets the points…
Wow, I’m such a jerk.
This sounds like such a fun part of the ride! Love the concept.
Then it was time to head back up to Animal Actors!
Jamie and I are both huge animal lovers, particularly dogs, so this is right up our alley!
This show sounds cute. I've probably asked you this before, but have you and Jamie gone to Seaworld? They have a show that is just like "Animal Acotrs" and it is so cute! I love those types of shows. And I'm also a HUGE dog lover!!!:lovestruc
And we saw Scooby and the gang on the way!
How precious.

24872794666_f4ae26f451_b.jpg
That is adorable!! I didn't know Scooby and the gang met at US. I love how he is still popular with today's kids.:thumbsup2
E.T. is such a classic attraction!

Aw great ride! This is one of the only attractions I actually remember going on when I went to US when I was like 8:rotfl:

Reminds me of the album/movie "Straight Outta Compton" - I'm guessing that's what they were going for?:rotfl:

Uber is definitely the best way to travel between WDW and Universal - glad you've jumped on the Uber bandwagon. I love it in Orlando particularly because I've found a lot of the drivers are actually WDW employees so you can have some really interesting chats in the cars!

But what it usually all boils down to, is THE RED BUTTON.
Oh, the red button.
At the beginning of the ride, Will Smith says,
“That red button in front of you? Don’t even DREAM of pushing it!”
Well, (Spoiler alert!!!) you go through the scenes shooting aliens, then at the end you hear,
“There’s only one thing left to do: PUSH THE RED BUTTON.”
And if you hit it just right, you get 100,000 bonus points!!
