Day 8
Tuesday 29th September 2015
Part 3 – Wilson Phillips!

We exited Mission: Space, and it was such a beautiful evening!
I feel like Orlando needs to be overcast and rainy sometimes to make way for the sun to come through.
(Edit: This might sound dumb/obvious to some, but please understand that here in England, we have clouds upon clouds upon more clouds )

It was gorgeous!

We headed back into World Showcase for more Food & Wine goodness.
We decided to stop at Greece and split a chicken gyro.

It was good!
It didn’t make the favourites list, but I wouldn’t pass on it if it’s offered again.

Plus, we got to honour the heritage and genetics that produced our Lord and saviour John Stamos.

Every time John Stamos smiles a snow owl is born.

We carried on walking through World Showcase.
Look at this beautiful evening.

We checked out Morocco!

I hope camels actually do wear hats in Morocco.

We left and carried on past Japan.

As we were approaching The American Adventure we noticed that Wilson Phillips were playing for Eat to the Beat!
I knew they were on tonight but we’d planned on seeing a later showing.

Well I’ll be honest with you.
I only know that one song called Hold On.
And I only know it from the movie Bridesmaids.
But I do really like the song!
Bridesmaids is one of mine and my friend’s favourite movies, so we sing this song all the time and do the drumming part…

Well, that one song was JUST starting as we approached!
Perfect!
So we sat on a wall next to the theatre and boogied.

Wilson Phillips were great!!!
Jamie said how good they sounded live, and I completely agree.
Very fun!

Plus, arriving just in time for this song was GREAT because it freed up some time later on!
We would’ve watched the whole show just waiting on this one song
Disney magic.

Before we left the show I turned around and got this great sky shot!

Next we hit up Germany!
We had a look at the model village.

We spotted Jamie.
(He loves cows.)

Then I had a look in the Christmas shop!
I love this Christmas shop.
Germany has the best Christmas shops.

I also went into Karamell Kuche, just to smell the deliciousness!
2016 WILL be the year I finally get a snack from Karamell Kuche.
I PROMISE.

We left the Germany pavilion and HOLY MOLY.

YUM AND WOW.

We continued around, and stopped briefly in China to play with the puppets.

Then we went to Mexico!

Inside this pavilion is always bustlin’.
I love looking around the stalls and watching the glass-makers.

We decided to ride the Gran Fiesta Tour!!!

Tuesday 29th September 2015
Part 4 – IllumiNations!

OK. Back to Food & Wine please.

After the Gran Fiesta Tour we made a beeline for the Hawaii kiosk.

While we were waiting we kept seeing this on the register.

Getting closer to Heaven.

FINALLY.

We got a pork slider and a Kona Big Wave beer each!

This was my number one Food & Wine item.
It is HEAVEN.
And as I said before, I don’t even like pineapple on savoury food.
It just has the perfect little hint of pineapple.
YUM YUM YUM AND WOW WOW WOW.

Claps for Hawaii.

From there, we headed straight to Ireland to share a warm chocolate pudding!

It was really good!
I don’t know if this is a thing for you Americans, but the Brits will understand when I say that this was just like being back at school eating school dinners!



Yay.

Then we headed around to Belgium, and got a Belgian waffle with chocolate ganache to share, and a cider each!

The cider was REALLY nice to drink on a warm evening.
The waffle was really tasty too, I had to scrape some whipped cream off it though!

We ate and drank our Belgian delights on a bench in Morocco and I was in my element!

That was the last of our foods and wines for today.
We did pretty good!

Filet – Canada
Cheese soup – Canada
Chicken gyro – Greece
Pork slider – Hawaii
Kona beer – Hawaii
Chocolate pudding – Ireland
Waffle – Belgium
Cider - Belgium

Not bad!

We never had any problems with tables or seating either.
Maybe Disney realised that last year everyone was eating on the floor and on top of trash cans, and decided that their paying customers deserve better than that

We finished our drinks at 9pm right when IllumiNations was starting!
It was EMH tonight so we went to look for a spot that was relatively close to Test Track so that we could dart over there after

We found a nice spot right at the entrance to World Showcase.

Wooooo.
The fireworks were incredible.
I can feel that they’re all about to change since they’ve been the same for so long (plus remember, Disney loves to cancel all of my favourites.)
I guess the logical time for new shows is the 50th anniversary in 2021, so I hope we have these for a few more years.
I’m not ready to say goodbye yet!!!

(Now that I’ve said that, please place your bets on when Disney will be cancelling Illuminations, Wishes, and Fantasmic. I’ll take by the end of the week.)

After the show we headed straight for Test Track!
Jamie wanted to try making a super-car again without being rushed through this time.

You guys know how Jamie just HAS to be the best at EVERYTHING right?
Well, after a bit of thought and mental math, this happened.

TODAY’S TOP DESIGN.
OUT OF EVERY SINGLE TEST TRACK GUEST ALL DAY.

His car was up on the big screen for everyone to see!

He was so proud! It was adorable.
He is smart.

This isn’t actually the highest score that you can get on Test Track.
We THINK it’s 232…
Would he get it later in the trip?
You’ll have to wait and see!

We enjoyed our ride on Test Track, and I wanted a go at designing a pretty car so we got in line again.

We were talking about how Jamie wins Epcot, after this and his Innvervision score a couple of nights ago!

After stating “I’m the BEST” several times, we were finally let into the loading area for the design studio.

This was Jamie’s reaction to being placed on number one.

He was so smug.

We were waiting for the doors to open and he said,
“Do they not know who I am??!!”



Eventually we were let into the design studio and I made my car!

While I was making it, Jamie miscalculated my points in his head for a brief moment, and had a mini meltdown because he thought my car had done better than his

But he soon reassured me that mine only had 215, not 225, and he was still number one.

We had a fun ride through again, for the third time today.
I like Test Track better at night.

After the ride Jamie wanted a picture with his car.
How adorable

It was now 10:20pm, so we went to ride Soarin’ before leaving the park.
The line wasn’t too bad, we only waited around 15 minutes!

Hello darling Patrick.

I looooooove Soarin’.
When we landed, everybody clapped and cheered I enjoy that.

We left the park at 11pm and got the monorail back to the TTC, then walked back to the Poly.

We got back to the room and I ended up showering and going to bed at 1am!
And tomorrow we were up early for breakfast!

When we were there last September, we rode Gran Fiesta Tour and it broke down. The music stopped playing and the boats were moving soooo slow but the video was still going so it was creepy! I was pregnant at the time though and being stuck on a ride for 30 minutes was horrible! My little girl felt the need to use my bladder as a punching bag for the full 30 minutes. lol

Have you seen the Splash Mountain coffee cup? I thought of you when I saw it the other day!

I'm currently trying to decide where to stay next year. We always go in September. Hopefully for the first week of F&W. Might even rent DVC points so we can stay deluxe for the first time.

The TTC is a really short walk through the Poly. I really think this is the best resort for transportation.

I just told someone this, that the Poly is better than the GF as far as transportation goes! And I LOVED the GF! But having the TTC pretty much right in your backyard is just too awesome.

Next we headed up to do something unfamiliar to us… Journey into Imagination…

Totally forgot you guys haven't done this!

We exited the ride and played the Figment instruments.

Well at least you guys enjoyed something of Figment!

As a Brit I can attest to this place perfectly portraying a British pub.

I've always wondered if this was spot on or not. Glad to hear it!

It was delicious and there was lots of fruit in it!
British people love to drink Pimm's when it’s warm so this was an excellent choice

I looked this up and it sounds so refreshing and delicious! Gin fan over here!

It still amuses me that they sell Jacob’s Cream Crackers in Epcot.

Is that bad?! Do you guys not eat those?!? I'm always fascinated by with the items in the pavilions cause they're new to me, but always wondered how authentic or cheesy they are to residents of that country.

Also, Yorkshire puddings in the bottom right!! That’s representing my home county (South Yorkshire)!!

Sometimes, one of my best friends and I will be at something, just say a movie, and when it ends, we will always start clapping first to get everyone else to start clapping, and we always feel so accomplished that we started it. It's silly but very funny

You should definitely use some snack credits here on your next trip. My favourites are the caramel popcorn, caramel apple and the small caramel and marshmallow swirl... they are AMAZING... I spent most of my snack credits there in January lol

Oh wow, that sounds SO good. I love brioche. My mum spends a lot of time in [the real] France [!] and I only ever ask her to bring me back big loaves of chocolate chip brioche - it costs like 2 euros, I'm such a cheap date ......so I'm adding this to my list for sure!

It was such a perfect evening! The opening night of Food and Wine was so stormy, we were basically running between countries, eating soggy bratwursts this was a MUCH more pleasant experience! Oh thank you, he will appreciate that congratulations, he pretends to be humble but he's really a big show-off..!!! ("Will you take a picture of me and my car? Make sure you put it in your trip report!")

Sweet! I should have familiarised myself with more of their stuff so that I could appreciate the entire set, maybe I'd even recognise some of their songs

I've looked into renting DVC points from some of the websites, (not sure how it works / if it's as simple for us Brits) - the price definitely seems like a steal?!? Did you narrow it down yet? I really like the Beach Club / Boardwalk refurbed villas, and they'd be very handy for Food and Wine!! I think all of the DVCs look great, I don't think you can go wrong!
