Definitely interior corridors (big benefit, in my book).

That said, sometimes you see people on disboards say that Poly has outdoor corridors - what they mean is that you have to walk outside to get from your individual longhouse to the Grand Ceremonial House or other longhouses. In other words, the rooms are not all in one large, connected building.

Indoor access. Some rooms have patios that you can exit on to the grass but you can't leave that way and also lock the sliding glass door.

does each section have "standard" view rooms? Just wondering if someone books a standard view room and wants to request a building, what their options are. Thanks.

Each longhouse may not have a "standard view" room - this is dependent on their location on the Poly property.

The Polynesian resort has these categories of rooms:
~ Standard Room - Standard View (View of parking area, garden, pool, marina or monorail)
~ Standard Room - Lagoon View (View of the Seven Seas Lagoon)
~ Standard Room - Theme Park View (View of Disney's Magic Kingdom theme park and the Seven Seas Lagoon)
~ Club Level/Concierge Rooms - Garden View, Lagoon View or Theme Park View. These rooms are located in the Hawaii Building.

There is also the suites located in the Tonga longhouse, however this is a building not to many will ever stay in unless they have $680-$3100 a night to spend

Here is a map of the Poly grounds to help you understand the views

We booked Standard Room/Lagoon View and requested Tahiti for our upcoming September trip. If the renovations run longer than 2 months, we won't be able to be in Tahiti. What are the other longhouses with Lagoon View standard rooms? I know Hawaii is CL, so I'm not sure what others are considered to have "lagoon views".

I believe that was pushed off to March 4 with an anticipated reopening on March 16.

I've emailed the generic WDW Guest Services email address with this kind of thing. The last several times I've gotten phone calls in response. I've gotten to know a couple CMs at the resort and I've been told by them that these notes are definitely seen by both the CMs and their managers and go in their files.

Just got two rooms at the Polynesian for 5/31 to 6/5. That's going to be our "big" family vacation this year. The whole family's excited!

I am going to call the Poly soon to put in a different room request since samoa is closed :sad1: and it seems Tokelau is a desired longhouse...(Yes, I do know that requests are not guaranteed) I like the location of room # 1914 and #1915(corner rooms) and was curious if anyone has stayed in either one. If so, did you like it? I will have 2 little ones and also curious if you can enter and exit thru the patio doors with a stroller or just walking? Thanks! :wave2:

Sorry, haven't stayed in Tokelau, but to answer the question about the patio doors, you should be able to enter/exit with your stroller through the door with no problem. You'd have to push it across part of the lawn, and possibly around some shrubs/planting beds, depending on your room location, but you should have access to get out that way. Just FYI, though, you can't lock the patio doors from outside.

You've got the sliding door answer and I have stayed in Tokelau in a corner room and loved it! We have stayed ground floor on the garden (non-pool) side on both corners but lagoon side was definitely the best! It was by chance. I've never requested a specific room since that's pretty difficult but I request Tokelau ground floor.

We requested Samoa for the end of march. Any idea if Samoa is supposed to be refurbished at this time? Also can someone tell me if anything else is scheduled for closure for the very end of march.

Thank you so much! I checked them out and I think if we can't get in Tahiti we'll request Tokelau, but I'm worried since there are only 2 lagoon view rooms in there we'll be out of luck. We just really don't want to go on the other side of the Poly-we were looking to be near the TTC.

Another question - if we get there and we would happen to be on the other side of the resort, is it possible to switch to a garden view room at that time?
