Returning to the poly next week. Haven't been there in years. Do they still play the underwater music in the pool? Thanks in advance!

Apparanty so. This is from post #84 of this thread.

We were enjoying the Nanea Volcano pool late one evening, after watching the EWP and MK's fireworks from the beach, and happy to be the one of the few families in the pool (I think it was around 10pm).

My DD10 swims up to me and DH (where we're relaxing on the shelf where the "waterfall" normally hits) and she says, "SHHH!!!! Do you hear that??".

We look at her confused. She says, "Go underwater!! And {whispering}LISTEN!"

DH and I shrug and stick our heads underwater with DD.

Sure enough, I could hear the sweet soundtrack of the Polynesian resort. The twangy guitar & ukelele playing. If it wasn't for my body screaming "get some air" I couldn't stayed under and listened to it echo under the pool for hours. So relaxing...

We three resurfaced.. and just amazed that we could hear the music so clearly underwater.

I tried again to "find the music", numerous times throughout our visit. But sadly, did not hear the music underwater anymore. Maybe the sound of the volcano slide/waterfall and multiple people in the pool masked the soundtrack underwater. I don't think it was a fluke accident that DD, DH, and I could hear it so clearly one night and then not be able to find it again.

Maybe that was our "magic moment" at the Poly? Something we three can put into "making memories" and smile and laugh about when we go and visit WDW again.

I've heard about the Big Blue Pool at AoA having sound/music/Finding Nemo dialog underwater...but didn't realize any other pool had it.

So after my long story... I want to ask my fellow Poly Lovers - do you hear the music?

Yes! But we only heard it late at night when the volcano slide and waterfall was off and after the crowd died down.

I just did online check in and they listed the options ground floor and patio. I know this is a stupid question, but does patio mean balcony? I've seen many people here refer to the ground floor outer areas as patios and balconies on the higher floors, but there was no option for that.

Just came back from our WDW trip...stayed 4 nights at ASMovies with the kids and one night at the Polynesian (garden view CL) just me and DH for our anniversary. It was our first stay there and we absolutely loved it  We rented a cabana for half a day and had lunch at Kona and dinner at 'Ohana. My DH loved it so much that we will be staying there 2 nights (garden view CL again) for our next trip in July (the other 4 nights will be at POP) We're hoping to rent a cabana again (for the whole day this time!) :cloud9:

In most buildings, the third floor has a balcony, and the first floor has a patio. Some buildings have balconies on the 2nd floor as well. There is a breakdown of which has what on the first page.

DD's 10th Birthday Surprise/ 1st Stay at the Poly/ 1st Stay at Club Level Trip UPDATE:
Less than 24 hours 'til take-off.
Kids = STILL CLUELESS!! :cool1:

I am so excited, I just booked my first stay at the Polynesian Lagoon View Club Level for my Birthday! :cool1: This will be my first time at the resort and have always dreamed of what it would be like to vacation there.
When the discount for the Fall came out I couldn't resist so I booked a two night stay before my cruise on the Disney Fantasy!:lovestruc

For the Poly experts on this thread I was hoping you might be able to answer a question for me. I am traveling alone and feel a bit uncomfortable staying on the ground level so I requested a third floor balcony room. After researching GuitarRob and Tikiman's site it appears that there is only one Lagoon view room on the 3rd floor, the rest are all theme park views. I was really hoping for a balcony. I know the second floor are all juliette balconies. (I am not averse to staying on the second). I just enjoy sitting outside and enjoying the view. Can anyone suggest what my options would be? Just thought I would make a few requests to the IPO.

Thanks so much and I can't wait to experience the magic the Poly has to offer!party:

You picked a great way to experience the Polynesian for the first time. You're going to have a blast!

You could always upgrade to TPV :goodvibes In the grand scheme of things, it's only about $180/night more. Ugh... sorry... bad Rob... always looking to justify an upgrade. :hyper:

I would state on your reservation that you're uncomfortable on the first floor, and request third floor and hope to get that room (or a dose of Pixie Dust with an upgrade :rolleyes1 ). Make your second choice on your request whatever you feel will make you happier, second or first floor.

The second floor juliettes are barely enough to squeeze onto and stand with the door closed.

HOW EXCITING! Is it killing you?

Actually no. I've made it this far now I want to see it through! It was killing me last weekend but now I'm eerily calm about it! :cool2:

I did tell 3 people at work today--before that I had only told one person anywhere (besides DH, of course). So that's helped relieve the "pressure" a little bit! :bitelip:

This thread makes me salivate.....
65 days.....
Its painful and wonderful waiting.

OH BTW , Can someone teach me what the Scavenger hunt is? I think its at Ohana's.

Thank you! I just called and the CM said ground floor is patio, so there is no option online to request a balcony or upper floor, but she added it on for me.

Finally made it to 10 days!!!! :dance3:

I'm ready to do my online check-in. I plan to request Tahiti, Rapa-Nui or Tokelau. Any particular feedback on those?

I'm taking my sister with Downs who will be in either a wheelchair or ECV most of the time. I would like to be close to the transportation options.

We can't wait!!!! :yay:

I just finished my online registration and got an email reply stating that my room request could not be added at this time. I asked for two different longhouses without anything special like a patio. Does anyone know if this is just a standard response by Disney or is something else happening?

You're so close! 10 days...that's great!

If you will have your own car, my feedback would be that the Rapa-Nui has a drive-way/drop-off at the front door. That makes if very convinient if it is raining or when loading and unloading. All three buildings you listed are close to the TTC, so you will have close access to the Epcot monorail as well. Rapa-Nui is my favorite with Tahiti and Tokelau being my next faves. Good luck! :) :)

Ok guys, help me out here a bit. Tomorrow is my online check-in, is it worth doing when you're staying Club Level?

I can't speak for the Poly, but we did online check in at WL CL in July...I don't know if it's because we did online checkin, but we ended up being checked in downstairs, instead of the whole being escorted upstairs thing. So, we will not be doing on line check in for our Poly CL stay in April.

That may not have been from checking in online. Last fall we did not check in online, but were snagged by a CM when getting off the ME bus and were told we had to check in in the GCH because there were too busy over in Hawaii. Disappointing for our first CL stay! :sad2:

Can anyone tell me all the requests that they have available for online check in ?
I just wanted to know so I can figure out what I may be able to request.
