Has anyone taken the Disney Alaskan Cruise on the Wonder? If so, would love to hear your thoughts! :thumbsup2

We've done it twice and loved it. It's just a totally different feel from a Mexican Riviera or Caribbean cruise.

All the really cool excursions are pretty pricey.

For the 2011 cruise, we had ZERO money for excursions, so our son went gold panning ($20) in Skagway

my wife took a tour of the state capital (FREE) in Juneau

and I hit the Alaska Brewing Company ($15?) in Juneau

For the 2013 cruise, we took the White Pass Railroad in Skagway. It's fairly pricey and something I probably wouldn't do again. Beautiful scenery though.

In Juneau, we took the bus to the Mendenhall Glacier. We'll do that again. I don't think they gave us enough time there though. We also took the Mt. Roberts tram. That was just OK.

In Ketchikan, we took public transportation to Totem Bight State Park. I thought it was kinda cool, until I realized all of the totems were replicas. Ugh!

The best day by far is the Tracy Arm Fjord day. So beautiful and Disney does a great job of getting you VERY close.

Thanks so much! Would love to hear what anyone else has done as well. There are so many things to choose from and you are right, they are pricey!

Did the Alaska cruise in 2015 and loved, loved, loved. Cold and wet, yes, but scenic, and full of Disney fun. There was a very chilly Frozen party on deck - apt!!

Skagway: 4x4 mountain excursion. Not enclosed vehicles, so cold and wet (hey, it's Alaska) but the tour operator family was lovely. Lunch at the single room cabin more than made up for it!
Juno: We did the helicopter flight to the dog sledding on the glacier. Fantastic experience. An incoming storm cut the excursion short (no feeding the dogs part), but we weren't complaining!
Ketchikan: We chose the crab feast by sea plane. So cool! Then we had the private meal in a lovely dining room with another lively couple.

Friends we met on board did the rail trip out of Skagway and they had a fantastic time - and saw bears!

The major ports of call have lots of tour availability for a better price, but we went with Disney because they have to get you back to the ship on time.
Wear lumberjack themed clothes for embarkation day! Enjoy! Oh, and this will be the only place you'll get the characters in Alaskan clothes. Fisherman Mickey is super cute.

My friend raved about the Alaskan cruise she went on. I want to go some time too. She said it was her favorite cruise ever.
