My Alamo rates for 4/26-30 for a full size car just went down by $30 using a code from Alamo Insiders and BJ's.:cool1:

My reservation went down today through Alamo. Its for Mar 16 through 23. My full price is now $115 for the entire time for a midsize car. I used codes from Costcos 7015309 and Ad8221SDF. Good Luck!

You are looking way to early if you want a good price. Best to look 2 weeks before your arrival if you want to go with Alamo. I never book our car until 7 days before our arrival because that is when Alamo releases the last minute rates. Past three time we rented a weekly rentals we have not paid more than $90 for a mid size for the entire week! And those were rented just before we left.

Join the Alamo Insiders program for free and you can get some outstanding discounts!

Thank you! We have rented from them before and we are Insiders!:thumbsup2 Last week...rates for a full size car with Costco Codes/Coupons was about $130 for over a week...Today it is over $300:confused:.....I am hoping that it will go down the closer we get!:surfweb:

Does this hold true for minivans as well? Or are they always higher because they have fewer of them to rent? I was seeing rates of upwards of $600 for my dates, 4/14-4/20. So when I got a rate of $257 with the TI1 code, I booked it. Is this a good rate? I've never rented a minivan before.

Last fall when we went..I got a mini van rental for 8 days? and I payed about $145 for it!---Through alamo...last minute deal! :) I also "heard" that sometimes if you renta fullsize car...you can sometimes get lucky and they will have minivans in there fullsize section!:thumbsup2....but I've been told not to count on it..and if you really need a minivan...its safer to just rent one.....

Good to know! I will start checking again once I'm inside the 2 week mark and hope for a last minute deal. I really do need a car for 6 ppl and would prefer a minivan to a full SUV, so I have to reserve it and not take my chances.

Yup. Always book first and adjust later.

Have you tried the special "Wendie" rate on Budget? The link is here: https://www.budget.com/budgetWeb/ht...l?&ICID=homepage_billboard&IID=wendie_sp_2012 and a SUV is $139 per week or $202 with taxes and fees. I also used the Costco coupon
MUGZ029 for $30 off, but the "Wendie" code says that you can't combine it with a coupon. If it doesn't fly, I'm OK with $200 per week over Spring Break.

Does the Costco card have to be shown at rental? I have a card but my daughter does not and she is renting a second car.
