    Hi,

Has anyone taken a rental car from the Orlando airport to the port? We are going on the Fantasy (so excited)! There are 5 of us and our travel agent suggested this may be a less expensive option. Does anyone have any information that would be helpful? Thanks so much ::yes::

We've always taken DME from Orlando Airport to PC which is super easy. I'm pretty sure that if you take a rental car, you'll have to pay for the rental car duration as well as parking at the port which I don't think is cheap.

    From DCL.com: (http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/p...ng-library/driving-directions-port-canaveral/)
    Parking at Port Canaveral
An outdoor parking facility is operated by the Port Canaveral Port Authority. Cash, Visa® and Mastercard® are the only acceptable forms of payment. Personal checks are not accepted. The daily parking rate is $15.00. Parking for a 3-night cruise is $60.00. Parking for a 4-night cruise is $75.00. Parking for a 7-night cruise is $120.00. Rates are subject to change. A valid disability parking permit is required for accessible parking.

We did this the last time we went this past April. It was much more cost effective than going on the transportation with that many people. We had 8 people in our party and got an 15 Passenger Van at the airport (Budget) and dropped everyone off at the port and a couple of us drove it out to Budget at Cape Canaveral and they shuttled us back. That whole process only took about 15 minutes. Very painless.

We are also going this April and doing the same kind of thing. We are renting a Vehicle at Sanford Airport this time, and going to pop century resort and dropping it off at Disney Car Care return on property. Staying a few days at Disney before we get on the ship.

We have rented a Budget Rental Car from MCO and driven to the Port. The Budget Car rental in Cape Canaveral will then take you the Port. The return is very easy also, Budget will pick you up at the Port and take you to their rental location so you can rent a vehicle and drive back to MCO or Disney.
