Awww man, I hate that you and Wingnut didn't care for Toy Story Mania. We enjoy it but we aren't among those who make the stampede towards the attraction. If we ride it, we ride it. If we don't, then we're a tad disappointed but it doesn't spoil the entire trip.

Hahaha I wouldn't go within 100 feet of Rock n Rollercoaster! We definitely have different ride preferences! :rotfl:

That's a great One Man's Dream memory! Even without Dream FP's, it is nice there!

It does seem like the Star Tours refurb took away a bit of the pandemonium for TSM. And the Jedi Academy too!

Aww thanks! Glad to still have you on board!!

"Aglet to you too, Phineas!"

I just don't get the huge massive rush to it! I mean, I can see why people like it, but not enough to cause chaos!

I know we didn't miss much, food-wise, but Wingnut LOVES old B-movie horror films, and I know he would have really loved the clips. We will definitely go someday! :thumbsup2

    Welcome back!!! :yay:

It did feel weird going to character meals sans-kids, but no one else acted like it was weird!

That's pretty much exactly what happened to us! I know people who LOVE the Poly, I guess we're just not one of them! We've never stayed at the Beach Club (we stayed at Yacht once), but it really does look gorgeous! That area is definitely my favorite!

Thanks!! And thank you for reading along!! :goodvibes

Awww it's okay! There are plenty of other rides that we love! I definitely won't be among the stampede either!

Sci-Fi is worth a visit just for the amazing theme work they did to capture the Drive-In feel.

That and the awful movie clips are just hilarious.

Okay, I just wanted to let you know that I loved that documentary! He is so amazing with what he does with Elmo. I will never look at them the same way anymore. It was such a heartwarming thing to watch.

Even though I LOVE TSM, you do not lose any credibility. Everyone is different. The thing that keeps me going is that I love anything that keeps a score and that I can beat someone on. See. Simple. :rotfl:

I agree!! I love the themeing in Sci-Fi, especially the night sky and all of the funky details!

Hahaha the movie clips are pretty awesome!

Yay I'm so glad that you liked it!! Isn't it really amazing??? I definitely can't look at them the same way either! There's so much love behind each puppet!

Hahaha I think my problem is that if there is a score on a ride, I WILL lose. I am just that terrible at those types of games! :rotfl:

We made our way out to the bus stop area, and I spied a bus stop with a Downtown Disney sign over it. Okay, that’s convenient! I’ve completely lost track of the general rules when it comes to what bus stops are at what parks (Didn’t it used to be no park-to-park busses? I am positive I’ve gone to Epcot from DHS and AK.), so a bus to Downtown Disney didn’t seem too out of the realm of possibility to me.

We waited there for several minutes as resort bus after resort bus drove by (most of which were for Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs, we noted). It was beginning to get a bit warm and sunny, and we had been doubting the existence of these supposed Downtown Disney busses from the beginning, but had decided to put our faith in the sign for at least a little bit.

A few more minutes went by.

“Alright. The next bus that comes by (we were close to where the busses were dropping people off to get into the park), I’ll ask.” I declared.

Another Caribbean Beach bus pulled up. I went over and asked the bus driver if there would be any busses going to Downtown Disney from there. Nope, just a random (and confusing) sign. He suggested we get on his bus, then switch once we got to CBR to a bus actually headed toward DD. (Since CBR is so close to DHS, it really wouldn’t be out of the way of our planned route.)

    Sounds good to us!

We boarded the bus, happy for the brief moments of air conditioning. Just a couple of minutes later, we were already at CBR, and got off at the first stop to wait for a DD bus.

Wingnut bought a beverage while we waited.

A few minutes later, a bus heading for Downtown Disney appeared!

We meandered around the DTD shops for awhile, being sure to save the treasure trove that is Goofy’s Candy Company for last so our treats wouldn’t begin to melt. I always go into Tren-D, even though I probably will never buy anything from there (clearly, I am just not that trendy), but the displays are pretty cool.

    As are the chandeliers.

(Question: Is it pronounced "trendy" or "trend"? Also, does it completely prove that I have an inability to shop there based on that question? :rolleyes1)

Of course, we went into World of Disney.

We bought a few items here (I swear, even when this store is completely empty, it is still entirely overwhelming.), and decided to use our gift card, where again the CMs had never seen one personalized like ours before before, and started passing it around and showing our picture to everyone within a nearby radius.

Once back outside, I took a picture of the Characters in Flight balloon, even though we've never actually gone up there.

I know I've said before that I'm not into the whole Vinylmation thing, but I did think this giant Mickey was pretty cool.

(As far as I can tell, the slippery slope that is Vinylmation collection has still been avoided! :thumbsup2)

The site of the future Splitsville:

We didn’t do much down on the West Side (being mindful of Cookie Kwan’s territory, of course!), and as we turned back, I was starting to get a bit hungry. Wingnut said he didn’t want anything, but didn’t mind sitting for a bit, so I decided that I wanted to give a restaurant I had heard about over and over again on the Dis a try: Wolfgang Puck Express!

As we entered, I was instantly overwhelmed by the length and scope of the menu, and had absolutely no idea what I wanted to try. Between T-REX and the front door of the restaurant, Wingnut had gone from not wanting anything to us planning to share a dish. As I stood there looking at the menu, Wingnut started helpfully making suggestions.

    “Barbecue chicken pizza?”

“Is that what you want?” I asked.

“I’m just making suggestions here. It’s entirely your decision.”

    “Barbecue chicken pizza it is!”

Since we used one credit on our dining plan for the pizza, we also got a drink and a dessert. And since I completely forgot that WPE has crème brulee until we sat down, we got a cookie. And a bottle of water. (The water had nothing to do with forgetting about the crème brulee.)

We chose a seat in the mostly-empty restaurant, and a few minutes later, our pizza was delivered to our table!

We were surprised at the generous portion size of the pizza, it was more than enough for a snack for the two of us. We both enjoyed it, I thought it had a great flavor, and liked the barbecue sauce that was used. W: "A decent pizza, a little soggy towards the center."

(No, we didn't use the Cholula on the pizza, but it was still on the table from a previous diner, and I thought it would add perspective for the size of the pizza.)

After our snack, we decided to head back to the Polynesian (it was around 1 at this point), and waited at the bus stop for a few minutes.

A bus arrived a few minutes later, and we again savored the air conditioning that welcomed us aboard.

    Taken for Merida :wave::

(Who else is super-excited to see this movie?)

Once back at the Polynesian, we wandered around the shops at the GCH for a bit (Wingnut particularly loves the Wyland art gallery that's there, we spent a good deal of time there looking at the various pieces.), then made our way back to Tokelau. I briefly contemplated going to the pool for a bit, and Wingnut said he would join me, but I then decided that the pools looked pretty busy already, so we hung out on our little patio for awhile before getting ready for dinner at another completely new restaurant (in a completely new resort) to us...Artist Point!! :yay:

I don't care too much for waiting on the buses at Hollywood Studios because the covers on the bus stops are too little. They definitely aren't big enough to shelter you from the Florida sun, that's for sure. I'm glad that the bus driver suggested that you hop on his bus to the CBR and then wait for a DTD bus. It seems like it saved you some time. :thumbsup2

The pizza you ordered from Wolfgang Puck's looks really good. May just have to put that on my list of foods to try next trip.

Our two longest waits ever have been with Beach Club buses.

I have always prounounced the store Tren-Dee. Since it has the big D, I put the emphasis on the D. I will not likely be purchasing anything there. but I go in occasionally to look at pretty things and take more pictures of the same chandeliers you did.

    That pizza looks delicious!

We're hoping to see Brave in Disney World on our trip at the dine-in theater, if that's an option. We'll be checking into it when we get there.

On your way to Wilderness Lodge! :woohoo: You know, there's a very special fountain there. :rolleyes1

Whoops! Sorry, I forgot that it was Yacht Club you stayed at. I remember now. After not being on the DIS for months, I think I'm on Disney overload now that I have a trip to plan. There are worse things, right?!?! :goodvibes

I call it "tren-DEE." I'm glad I'm not the only one who's unsure of how to say it! I LOVE that store but I just can never buy anything from there. It's the kind of stuff I like on the rack, but I'm not sure I'd like anymore once I put it on.

I'm always overwhelmed by WoD! I'm usually entirely okay with wandering away from whoever I'm with, but in there, I just can't...I follow them around because I feel like finding them again will be impossible!

Ooh, Artist Point! Can't wait to hear about that one :thumbsup2

I find the pizza at WPE to be a little underwhelming myself. I love everything else there, but don't love the pizza. Being from Chicago might have something to do with that though. :rolleyes1

I am super excited to see Brave! I can't wait. I am determined to see it before we go on our trip.

Hahahah... I would say that it is pronounced 'trendy' based on the fact that the D is separated from the rest of the word. Works for me. :thumbsup2

(Me! I'm super excited to see Brave!)

I didn't know that you could take buses from park to park either until our last trip. We asked a driver who was leaving AK if taking an AKL bus and then getting an Epcot bus would be the quickest route. He pointed at the Epcot bus stop sign and looked at us like we were crazy. :lmao: It was convenient though!

I always wander through TrenD, but usually end up buying something from Team Mickey instead. :rotfl2:

WPE is on my list to try. I think next trip I'll send DH to his beloved EoS and hit WPE myself.

I can't wait to hear about Artist Point!!

Don't you hate those cryptic bus stops that say they're going somewhere but never do? :confused3

Ahhahaha I said the same basic thing to DH last trip! He asked me how to say it and I didn't know. I figured it disqualified me from entering.
I'm soooooo excited for Brave!! :cool1:

I pronounce it trendy too. I always have to walk through there even though there is nothing I would buy! :rotfl:

I love TrenD, but I have yet to buy something in there. One, I'm not trendy enough, and two, nothing will fit me! Everything in there is tiny sized! :rotfl: I love to look around, though!

Mmm I have to try WPE someday! I hope in November! :thumbsup2

I cannot wait to see Brave! I want to go the night it opens, but I'm nervous it might be too busy...I will definitely be seeing it that weekend, though! :cool1:

Did you guys ever make it to Goofy's candy company? I ask because I always have the best intentions of going there, and then I end up forgetting. One of these days I'll have one of those calorie-laden treats!

Hmmm.... I always thought it was Tren-dee also. I never actually gave it any thought, so I could be completely off! :rotfl:

I do enjoy the pizzas at WPE, the 4-cheese one especially! We have a place around here that makes pizzas very similar to WPE and it is a place we frequent often (maybe we'll go tomorrow night!)
