We may have to move within a month and I'd like to slowl start packing stuff up and getting it out of the way. I know the Pods are around, but didn't know if there are other companies. They don't look very big and I'd probably just start putting boxes in them and leave the big stuff for the actual move.

Has anyone used these and know approximate cost for a month? I looked it up but it said something about a storage fee and I don't need to store it. Just pack it at my place and then move it to the new place.

Any help or suggestions would be great!

There are some other companies. We used a company called "Door to Door" which does both moving and storage. It has been a while since we used them, but I recall that they would leave it for a fairly long time. You are probably going to have to call around and get quotes for your particular needs though because rates vary by location.

We used PODS when my daughter moved back home from NJ, it was Great. The units are much larger than you think, since you pack all the way up to the ceiling of the unit, she fit almost an entire house in one, livingroom furniture, baby's room, clothes, etc. You just have to be careful opening it because you never know what might fall out on you.

I loved the idea also that she was able to pack at her leisure, and we emptied the same way- you rent by the month, there is a charge to move it. Check out the website www.pods.com for more details, but I would highly recommend them.
