We're taking our 14 month old on her first cruise in 5 days ! :cool1:

Just wondering if anyone knows for sure if there are headphone jacks on the stateroom TVs on the Fantasy? We'l love to bring some headphones so we can watch tv while the baby is sleeping....Thanks!!

probably, they are newer tv's. Additionally, there is a curtain that you can draw to seperate you and the tv from the child. You can also darken that part of the room. Shouldn't be much of an issue. The far side of the bed will be a good 12 feet from the tv.

Here is a picture of the inputs on a tv from the dream. I would imagine the Fantasy ahs the same ones :3dglasses

You may want to consider not using the headphones so the TV provides white noise to buffer the noise from the hallway, especially during the day.

Couldn't a headphone go into the red/white audio out port?

I have no idea but I would think the headphone jack would be on the front or side.

DH is an audio nerd. He will be home in a few and ill get his two cents.

I've been meaning to ask him how we could hook up wireless headphones to the TV on the cruise for the same reason.

Great pic of the back - you can see the make and model of the tv. A quick search has turned up the specs... Unfortunately it looks like there is no audio-out options.

You could always turn on the close captions :)

Have fun!

To clarify - I didn't see any AUDIO OUT options on this schematic, only INPUT.... the headphone jack converter would only work with AUDIO OUT.

Lol duh. IN.

That would work great, if you wanted to use your headphones as microphones: if you wired them up as you suggest and shouted into them, the sound would probably come out the TV's speakers. But that's not what you want to do. You need Audio Out connectors to hook up your headphones, but there aren't any on this model of TV.

As someone else already suggested, Closed Captioning is probably your only silent option.

Thanks everyone! Guess we're out of luck!

DD always sleeps with a white noise machine at home so we were planning to bring it with us. We'll try to put the pack and play as far away from the tv as possible and see how it goes. Hopefully she'll be so tired the noise won't bother her :)

FYI if you have a smart phone there are many apps you can download that will do the same and you will likely already have your phone with you anyways. Just plug the phone into the charger and let it go. (In Airplane mode of course too) We used to lug the sound machine around too but only use it at home now and use an app on trips.
