So I'm lying in bed, bored, wondering what everybody's wish lists are? Tell me your top 3 itineraries that you would like/still like to take (of the ones being offered), if money, length of trip, dates of trip, were of no issue.

Well, for me, part of the issue is also the length of the flight. I haven't worked myself up to the length of flight required for China & Australia.

    China
    Australia
    Peru

With Peru, the issue is the altitude. I just don't know if I'm up to it.

There are other trips on my wish list (like Scotland & Ireland & Alpine Magic) that I just haven't gotten to yet! :) Which should be my biggest problem in life!

    In any order . . .

How long is your flight to Greece?
When we went to Peru, neither of us had any problems from the altitude. But, I purposely planned our trip to work from the lowest altitude, and up.

I say, go for it!! You will not be disappointed.

My top 3, in no specific order:
    Galapagos (9 day)
    Alpine Magic
    Egypt

The Cambodia trip interests me, just wish it included Thailand.

So far, Peru is my longest flight (9 hours), so I understand your point on the flights.

The long leg of the flight to Greece (Philly to Athens) is 10 hours. The flight back is 11.25 hours. Not sure if that's fighting air currents or something that adds the extra hour & 15 minutes. :confused3

I just already have health issues I'm always dealing with when I travel, so I hate to add altitude sickness to the whole mess. I'll do it one of these days!

Peru interests me as well, but the altitude is a concern.

Actually, if I won the lottery, I think I would just take every trip - they all look awesome!! :thumbsup2

I'm with Tobi about the length of flight to get to the orient or Austrailia/NZ. Close to home, I'd love a trans-Canada trip. Perhaps by rail?

Existing trips: Scotland, Asia and the newer France trip (which no one talks about!)

Would like to see added: Moscow to St. Petersburg, Japan, Brazil

Moscow to St Petersburg would be nice!! Idk if I would, personally, have an interest in going to Brazil with ABD. My fingers are still crossed we will make it there next year.

I've looked at those Canadian train trips more than once. I'd love to do one of those, and doing it as an ABD would be great!

DH and DDalmost20 would love to go to St. Petersburg and Moscow. I'm not sure about that, but I guess I would consider it , ONLY with ABD.

I am another one that would love to do ABD Australia, but not sure I would survive the flight. :worried: Of course, that's what I thought about London/Paris and I did just fine. :goodvibes (DD was SO proud. - It's obvious she didn't get her wanderlust from ME. :p )

I REALLY wanted to do Amalfi Coast this year, but we are heading to Germany on the "Once Upon a Fairytale" ABD instead... :hippie:

Unfortunately Via rail has stopped the coast to coast rail in Canada. You can pick up a train in Toronto I was told to get you into Vancouver. We have tried to stay in the older hotels that were built by the Canadian Pacific railroad throughout Canada. They are really monuments to a gone bye era. A friend had taken the Rocky Mountain train west out of Calgary and he said it was wonderful. Yes I would also love a trip like that after doing the ABD Montana/Banff trip.

I wonder how long it used to take to go coast to coast? That would have been quite a trip! I had briefly looked into taking one of those rail trips before my Montana/Banff trip got cancelled. Some day!

I've only had one trip cancelled by ABD, and that was my Montana/Banff trip in 2009, when the economy first tanked. ABD had just come off a very successful year, and had really expanded their trip offerings. When the economy nose-dived, they had to cancel or consolidate a lot of trps. My trip only had 3 people signed up. ABD was fabulous about it, and rebooked me on the Alaska trip, and paid to switch my airfare. I have no hard feelings about that.

My Philly/DC trip wasn't cancelled by ABD. Dreams Unlimited did not book enough people to keep it a DIS Exclusive trip, so ABD opened it up to the general public. As a result, I was given the choice to stay on the general public trip, cancel, or switch to another trip. I chose to switch to another trip. So that was a really different situation. But I've been dealt with very well in both cases.

Oh ok, I see the difference. Is that what they would 'normally' do if trips (ex DVC member only, adult only) aren't selling well?

It's part of the agreement that whoever arranges an exclusive trip makes with ABD. If they don't book a minimum number of people by a particular date, then the date is opened up to the general public. That's why you see on a lot of trips on the ABD website "Now Accepting Waitlist - Call for Details". They will allow you to be waitlisted for a trip that is set up as an exclusive trip, in case they don't book enough people. I don't know if DVC is included in this policy. But I bet they are.

Adults Only trips are a different animal. Adults Only trips are sold that way by ABD. They would not open it up to families if not enough Adults sign up. They'd cancel & try to reschedule you. But I've had Adult Only trips go with very few people (14 and 15) for Southwest Splendors & Alaska. I know others have, also. So the "minimum" for ABD's can be pretty low.

How did I miss this fun thread?

1- Italy (we are going to do it with ABD, just hasn't reached the top of our list yet;) first a Balkan river cruise and then Antarctica, maybe SE Asia first.)
    2- Germany
3- they don't offer this, but wondering why not? How about a river cruise? Tauck does them, they are usually for a " more mature" crowd, but what a great way for a family to see many places in a laid back way (some itineraries are exhausting all the packing and unpacking!) They'd have to charter the whole vessel ( they are usually only carry 100 folks anyway) and offer more activities on board than typical, but not unlike what they do now with crafts and cooking demos etc now at one of the resorts. The advantage would be you'd be floating in your resort the whole time! They'd need " generalist" local guides or have 3 on board, one from each " area" covered to be the " resident expert" but the others would still know the basics, and extra Disney guides, one for each group of 30 or so, but wouldn't that be fun...a summer time ABD river cruise down the Danube!

Antarctica?!?! I'm a bit jealous here!! When is this happening?
I would love to visit Italy as well, however, none of ABDs Italy itineraries visit all the places I would like to visit. Italy will likely be done on our own, unless we are able to book with Contiki before my DBF isn't young enough anymore. :)
