Here! Here! Here! OK...so I've decided to tell my story mainly in photos for the reception. I mean...there's NOT much else to say except it was AWESOME! We had SO MUCH FUN! Seriously...one of the best receptions ever.
Ok...so I left you guys off with Lisa's arrival to the Wedding Pavilion with her mini white horses...so cute!
The ceremony was a nice ceremony...short and sweet. The Major Domo was the ring bearer, which was cute! And they had the trumpeters as well..
Waiting for his bride...
the vows...they wrote their own!
apparently my picture of the Major Domo bringing the rings is totally our of focus so I'm not going to post it... oh well.
after the ceremony, we all headed outside and lined up for the bride and grooms departure.. lol... the major domo lined us up and then handed out white rose petals.. very cute!
on their way!
haha ok...and I have to post this next picture... the horse and carriage comes with a 'pooper scooper', all decked out in the outfit too. Hate to say it, but this might be one of the crappiest jobs at Disney...no pun intended... you can see him in the distance walking far behind the carriage..lol do you think they draw straws each wedding to see who gets that job that day?
After all the pictures, we walked over to the Grand Floridian for a little cocktail hour!
first we had to bustle up Lisa's dress... took us a bit to figure it out but I think we got it!
The centerpieces in the reception
The cocktail hour was yummy! I honestly don't remember everything they had...and idiot me forgot to take a picture of the spread! I remember bacon wrapped shrimp, beef stuffed with cheese (or chicken?), spinach pies (maybe...I think..haha), a cheese spread, fruit spread, and umm...a bunch of other things that I stuffed my face with!!! Yikes!haha!
While munching, we stopped to take some group pictures with the new Mr and Mrs!
Informing us the reception will start in a few moments..
and no one could walk inside without first taking a picture of the trumpeters...lol
The awesome cake!
so cute! Ok then the food started coming out...mmmmm!!! Yes...I took photos of everything...they all made fun of me..haha! I was at a table of all of Lisa's friends from home. Crazy bunch! And we all got along great.
shrimp cocktail...which I heard was yummy...I don't like shrimp though so I pawned it off to someone else..
champagne and raspberry sorbet in an ice slipper..
and of course we all had to be dorks and start playing with the little lights..haha... none of those pics came out either though.
For and entree...the filet mignon... sooo good!
After the main course, there was a break in eating and everyone got up and danced their butts off! The DJ was really good and had us all singing and dancing the whole time. Think of all those songs from movies where they all sing together? Those are all the songs they played..haha. We had a lot of 'fork microphones' and 'spoon microphones' the whole night.
OK...I think I hit my pic limit!! I'll try posting another update in MINUTES! WOOT! Enjoy!
Just subscribing so I can read all about your adventure
OK...after dancing and burning off the calories from the previous food we scarfed down, it was time for dessert!
Lisa was the lucky one and somehow managed to get 2 chocolate slippers instead..hmph! lol
Then came the father/daughter dance and of course everyone got all teary eyed. Lisa picked "Stealing Cinderella" by Chuck Wicks to dance with her dad to. LOVE THIS SONG after hearing it!
Here's a link to the YouTube video of it... Chuck Wicks - Stealing Cinderella
Or you just click here to read the lyrics
After all the slow songs, the DJ pumped it up again for some more crazy dancing..
And then it was time for some cake!
AND... they had the best guests to help them cut their cake... who do you ask?
The Mouse and his Mrs! This was the BEST part of the reception for us (I think). I really didn't think we'd all turn into 5 year olds and go crazy about Mickey and Minnie...but we did. I even got to dance with the Mouse himself! hehehehhe.. They danced and hung around with us for a good 20 minutes and then went outside for pictures. I'm pretty sure they stayed a LOT longer then they were supposed to (I think only 30 mins is norm but they were here for a good 45 or hour).
boooo my eyes are closed..
Then Mickey and Minnie had to say bye to everyone and we all headed back inside to dance a lot more. hehehe... sadly don't have too many pics of that! And I dont want to embarrass anyone that was there with the horrible dancing skills we all had! haha!
Time to throw the bouquet..
and the garter.. (please notice Lisa's lovely sneakers..haha!)
on our way out to the next event... lol
sadly the reception was over but the night was still young and the celebration wasn't over yet! Lisa and fam had arranged vans to take us to the Boardwalk for an hour or so to calm down and relax until the finale. I'll have to start that piece later though...it's time to head home from work!
hope I gave you enough to hold you over! haha!
That reception looks like so much fun! And that cake is amazing!
So cool that Mickey and Minnie hung out and danced with everybody.
Those pics are awesome!!! What a fun reception! Who knew the big cheese and his main cheese squeeze would be there!!!!
I really like that Mickey and Minnie were there...the pictures are awesome and the food looked great...thanks again....
I wonder if people have there vows renewed there??? something to think about.
Wow that was quite a wedding- thanks for sharing!!!
hey!!! thanks for joining!
Mickey and Minnie were awesome! It was great!
you can renew vows! i swear i heard that somewhere! definitely look into it!
thanks for sticking around
ohhhh how fun! That looks awesome....that just made me decide that I'm definatly getting married at Disney. Now to find my prince charming!
Ok, wow...three updates in 2 days?!?!? Impressive for me!!! Hope I'm not overloading you guys! haha! Then when I'm done with this I can FINALLY catch up on everyones reports too!
So...after the reception, we all hopped in vans and headed to the Boardwalk to relax and unwind for a bit. When we first got the lobby, we all had to sit and get off the tired feed....especially the bride!
I think someone might have had a room at the Boardwalk so they went to go freshen up. The rest of us decided to continue the partying so we headed to the ESPN zone for a drink. Oh...and half the girls ran to the store to buy flip flops. I was smart though and had brought them with me to the reception and left them in my bag!
It was then time to head back to the lobby to catch a Mears bus to bring us to Epcot for our VIP viewing of the Illuminations! They brought us into the back of epcot, by Canada (I think). Problem is... they wouldnt' let us out of the bus for some reason for like 10 or 15 minutes! Finally a cast member came to escort us into the park...doesn't Lisa look THRILLED?
When we stepped into the park, it was one of the best unexpected surprises ever! At first, no one really noticed the 45 or so people walking like a gang through the park, including guys in tuxes and a girl in a white wedding dress. But then a visitor saw us walking through and stopped to let us through and started clapping. Then everyone else looked around to see what was going on and saw it was a wedding party and EVERYONE cleared the way and clapped and were whistling and yelling congrats to the newlyweds! It was SOOO cute!!
The cast member led us down to the roped off private area by the UK and we started chowing down...AGAIN! There was a HUGE fondue set up as well as..... TURKEY LEGS!!! hahaha! Great combo, I know. Beverages were also served but I believe we had to run up to Rose & Crown to get beer, which we did a few times. I love me some Cider!
Finally it was time for Illuminations!! We all grabbed seats on the benches by the water and had a great time!
There were a TON of pics but I'm lazy to go through them right now!
After Illuminations was over, sadly... we had to head out and call it a night. We all said our goodbyes to everyone and then Nicole and I headed towards the front of the park for the monorail. She was staying in the Contemporary and hadn't really been to Disney before (?!?!) so I was her tour guide for a bit. hehehe
All in all, a gorgeous wedding. It definitely makes me want to get married at Disney even more! Now I just have to find a hubby...and convince him on this crazy idea. hehehehe!
OH!! I totally forgot!!! Remember how I ordered the flowers for my step mom for mothers day!? They arrived on time and they were BEAUTIFUL! Here's a pic a few days after we got them but they were still awesome! The description said they would be sprinkled with pixie dust and they were! Some of the flowers and leaves were glittery. Very nice touch!
so there ya have it... I finally finished my trippie!! After this post I'm going to post a lot of my photopass pics for you guys to see. They came out really nice and I LOVE them! I'm definitely getting photopass every single time I go!
I hope you guys enjoyed it and I didn't loose to many of you in my long hiatus!
for photopass pics...thanks for sharing
Duh!! I totally forgot to tell you guys about our last day before we headed home!! So we woke up and decided to just have some food at the Kona counter in the Poly. Then DDad sprung it on us that we still had a day left on our park passes!! NO ONE TOLD ME WE HAD ANOTHER DAY ON THE PASSES! UGH! So I said I was running to the MK no matter what and they don't have to come. Dad decided to join me so we jumped on the monorail and got a few things done. We stuck to Tomorrowland and went on buzz lightyear, and I believe Space Mountain. Don't think we had time to do the Comedy Club. or maybe we did. I don't remember! Boo! Then I stopped in the confectionary and bought my friend Christina a HUGE mickey rice crispy treat. OMG it was sooooo good! Love these things! haha! Then sadly we made our way back to the Poly and headed to the airport... so sad to say goodbye!
Ok so here's some of my photopass pics.. enjoy!!
Love the photopass pics!!! Great trippie - thanx so much for sharing!!!
