For the first time in YEARS and probably in almost 50 cruises, we actually pulled into CC instead of backing in this past week! Once upon a time the ships used to pull in, but after the hurricane dock destruction, backing in became the standard except for special cirumstances like DVC cruises, filming, or maintenance. This week, hubby woke me up saying, "Check it out! Check it out! We pulled in!" Totally threw me off, since my usual view of the island was totally altered and since we had to hike all the way forward to disembark and everything was in a mirror image of what I'm used to.

We of course seized the opportunity to get our pic. taken in front of the ship, both with just us and with Captain Jack. I don't think we even have a pick of the Wonder facing forward, since back in the early days we mostly sailed the Magic. We were told it pulled in forward for filming. I know it sounds like a silly little thing, but it was a fun little novelty.

We've only done DCL twice and both times (2005 DVC members cruise) and the 10/14-10/18 cruise and both times the Wonder pulled into the dock.

We base our cabin choice (port or starboard:love: ) based on the fact that they back in!

We were on the Sep 23rd 4 night that got a surprise double-dip. They pulled in both times. Maybe they've made a permanent change to the way they do it for some reason?

The Wonder backed in on October 13, so apparently not.

I asked, and it's done for special circumstances such as maintenance, filming, DVC charter, etc.
