A long time ago on a Fantasy far far away...Feb 2016 SWDAS TR, 5/17 CRUISE EPILOGUE - The End!

It was amazing and you'd totally love it!! Wow, French Laundry!! I'm so jealous! I tried to get reservations a long time ago when visiting SF but I couldn't get them! We did dine at Per Se two years ago and that was amazing. Definitely a pretty penny so Remy seems like a BARGAIN compared to that. Now that I think of it, I think we could have gotten 2 dinners at Remy with the caviar course and still be less than what we paid to eat at Per Se. I'm gonna have to convince DH on that one...:lmao:
Yeah you don't even wanna know what our French Laundry bill was. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience (aka no way I'm ever paying that much to eat again). Headed up to NYC in May for work. Doubt I'll do Per Se but hopefully we can get something good in.

The truffle tasting was pretty much rich French food with fresh truffles shaved on top of everything. It did sound great but after 5 courses I'm sure it would have been a little too much for me. I felt it would have been a bit too mushroom-y in aftertaste and I like mushrooms! (don't you have an aversion to mushrooms??)
Yeah, if it was just truffles on top of everything that probably would be a bit too much. I would have thought it would be dishes with truffle incorporated. And yes you remember well I hate mushrooms but love truffles. Makes no sense at all.

his evening's theme was the Prince and Princess dinner. I was not really sure what this entailed but I know there were going to be some royalty on board! So I chose to wear this maxi dress which got the most votes in my PTR as the maxi dress to bring!

Laughed at Mickey's version of "prince" wear. I guess he didn't get the memo ; )

Looks great! :thumbsup2

My sister wore a white dress that had little Minnie heads on it. In addition she had brought along her minnie gloves! I didn't realize she had packed them but thought it was pretty funny.
Very cute!

Looks like you had a great time meeting all the princesses and such!

We had the same Tiana on our June 2015 cruise. She was WONDERFUL! Many great interactions with her throughout the week. She even asked us one day if we were coming to her Royal Tea (the $280 upcharge one on Thursday afternoon) and told us that we better be looking fancy in order to dine with her!

I can imagine...most of these places are once in a lifetime kinda things! Hope you get some good eats in NYC!! There are so many places and new ones popping up all the time that I can't even keep up with everything now.

Yeah, if it was just truffles on top of everything that probably would be a bit too much. I would have thought it would be dishes with truffle incorporated. And yes you remember well I hate mushrooms but love truffles. Makes no sense at all.

I'm sure they had some truffles in the dish as well, but as an extra flavor blast they shave the truffles on top too! I guess you want to get your money's worth in any case. LOL.
That's really funny because they have such similar flavor profiles...that sort of earthy flavor. Maybe it's a texture thing?

Looks great!!!!!!

Thanks!

Haha yeah, apparently it was Hawaiian vacation night for them.

Looks great! :thumbsup2

Thanks!!

Very cute!

We sure did, thanks!

Love all the pics! The Minnie gloves are killing me they are TOO cute! I might have to steal that idea for next cruise I think my daughters would love it!

Yeah they were cute! They took up a lot of room in her luggage though since they are so puffy. But I guess they don't really weigh much so that's good. I was just surprised she brought them at all! I guess anything to get a great shot...lol.

She was awesome and she was the Tiana who was in all the shows too! IS the Royal Tea worth the price? I know the kids have a bunch of stuff to take home with them. I think adults are an afterthought for this tea so we didn't do it.

It was only focused on the kids although the adults were included in the food and drinks. It was worth every penny for my 7 year old daughter and my 8 year old niece. They enjoyed every moment of attention on them.

When we were shown to our seats there was an 18 inch Cinderella doll (think American Girl size), a Belle musical jelwery box with a charm bracelet and necklace and an really fancy autograph book and pen. As each princess was introduced she would bring each girl a charm in her color to add to their charm bracelet. At the end we had our photo taken with all 3 princesses and the photo was delivered the next day to our stateroom in a very large leather portfolio.

I am glad I spent the money for the experience once but I do not see it as something we would do on more that 1 cruise.

Love your pics!! Also...any drinks in coconuts are awesome lol. I agree with the choice of dress...it looks a bit princess-y too!! So cute how the little princesses got escorted in. I find it funny how so many people didn't even go ashore or came back to the ship early...I guess the ship is so awesome that you want time to enjoy it all.

OK as I mentioned before, no one did any research. This was our plan:

Me: Su-Queen so what did you come up with when researching what to do?
CS: Well, I thought you said we could take a cab to a beach?
Me: Ok what beach?
CS: That beach you told me about! Seven Dwarves beach?
Me: You mean Seven Mile Beach.
CS: Yes, that's it!
Me: Well, did anyone grab any towels?
CS and DH: No...

OK so I guess our thoughts of going to a beach weren't really happening today. I think none of us really had our heart set on that idea. I definitely wanted to have some Caribbean food though, so we headed out towards the main drag of Georgetown to see what we could find.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that was winging it on the port days! This was actually the only day we planned. I mentioned this earlier but thought I'd give you some more details. We did the Taste of George Town tour and loved it. We got to visit five different places to sample local foods and got a great fun tour of the city. I'd highly recommend it if you go back.

The Rainforest Room after returning from Coz looked like a great afternoon of relaxation before your phenomenal dinner.

Wow, loved all of the pirate pictures. Well done, CS!!! Not a bad Jack Sparrow.

Your meal at Remy looks and sounds simply amazing! :worship::worship::worship: A great way to celebrate your birthday.

OK, I'm off to make pork chops for dinner. Disappointed!

:rotfl2:

Wow that sounds like an amazing experience! I'll suggest to my friends with kids. Do you have to be a certain age to participate?
I like that even though it's expensive they give you a lot of stuff too!

Thank you!! It was a truly fun day despite not doing that muh!
I totally would stay on the ship next time...I wanted to go to the Rainforest spa the minute I got up!

I've done something like that in the Bahamas and it was really fun. Was thinking of doing it again but my real pro port planners must have not wanted to ..Hahaha. I'll definitely check them out if we go to Grand Cayman ever. Thanks!

The Rainforest Room after returning from Coz looked like a great afternoon of relaxation before your phenomenal dinner.

It was soooo relaxing! I loved it and could easily not get off a ship at port. I made myself though.

Wow, loved all of the pirate pictures. Well done, CS!!! Not a bad Jack Sparrow.
She got what she came her for!

Thank you!!! BTW,there's noting wrong with porkchops...wait, can I have one?!??! :rotfl: :thumbsup2

Ha- I loved your "adventures" in Grand Cayman! I would suggest a new travel planner, but you all seemed to enjoy your outing.

"Seven Dwarves Beach" :rotfl2:(Where to go in GC when you are Disney-obsessed)

Yum- every single thing on the Caribbean Restaurant menu sounded awesome. Although I'm not sure I could eat turtle. They are my favorite sea creature and I would have much more enjoyment snorkeling with them than consuming them. Probably hypocritical of me and I know that the turtles are farmed- in fact, my family visited the turtle farm in GC in 2006-

Back on the ship- so glad you were able to enjoy the Aquadunk and more time in the rainforest room. I'm sure you took strategically timed photos, but it never looks crowded.

So I chose to wear this maxi dress which got the most votes in my PTR as the maxi dress to bring!

Gorgeous dress!!!! Very Leia-esque. But I suspect you may have something even better up your sleeve...

No tomato sauce for dinner tonight!

The Princess Escort down the stairs just looks amazing for princesses-in-training. What a fabulous experience.

Wow, the picture of CS with Minnie is just too adorable!!!

:goodvibes:

I do not believe there is a minimum age. We were sitting at a table with a girl that looked around 4 and she lost interest about halfway through. That is a lot of money to spend for the kid to get bored!

love the remy photos....is that enough food to fill a 6'4" 250 lb man?? lol my hubby can eat! He opens and closes Palo brunch!

That Remy dinner looked fantastic! I unfortunately am not very adventurous with food though. Grand Cayman looked beautiful. I would never tire of looking at that crystal clear blue water! I did not get to take advantage of any of the Spa offerings on our 3 night cruise on the Dream, but the next time when we are on a longer cruise I may have to! You have definitely sold me, especially on the Rainforest Room! :) YAY for Prince and Princess night!

I've just joined in, but I've already caught up! I'm loving your trip report and all of your photos. So far it looks like you've had an amazing trip. Happy belated Birthday by the way!

DH and I (along with our 2 best friends who happen to be dating) are in the works of planning our first Disney Cruise. We are waiting for the next round of itineraries to be released as we are hoping to do a NYE Cruise next year! Your TR is making me even more excited!

Can't wait to read more!

Ha- I loved your "adventures" in Grand Cayman! I would suggest a new travel planner, but you all seemed to enjoy your outing.

Totally, the Chubbyhubby and Chunkysis travel agency does not get a 5-star review from me...LOL

"Seven Dwarves Beach" :rotfl2:(Where to go in GC when you are Disney-obsessed)

Hahaha, I know totally funny and appropriate at the same time. You know if there was a beach name that I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Awesome pictures!!! I don't eat turtle either...I know it's a delicacy, especially in Asian cuisine, and I think I may have had it when I was young and traveling with my parents, but I don't think I'd eat it now...I love turtles too much! Just as much as I love bunnies and I won't eat rabbit...even though it tastes like chicken...it's the thought of it!

Back on the ship- so glad you were able to enjoy the Aquadunk and more time in the rainforest room. I'm sure you took strategically timed photos, but it never looks crowded.

I was genuinely surprised that the RR room was not more crowded. I mean there were definitely moments of crowds but never one where I had to wait for a lounger. The steam rooms usually had very little people in it, and the rain showers, they are timed so once you are done with one you move on to another and so there was always at least 2 showers available. It was more crowded at the Aquadunk!!

Gorgeous dress!!!! Very Leia-esque. But I suspect you may have something even better up your sleeve...

Hehehe...

No tomato sauce for dinner tonight!

Totally! scared to eat anything but white food. HAHAHA

The Princess Escort down the stairs just looks amazing for princesses-in-training. What a fabulous experience.

Yup! I didn't know what it was but they started playing music and dimmed the lights and there Cinderella was with all the princesses! It was really cute and I'm glad I caught it.

Wow, the picture of CS with Minnie is just too adorable!!!

Haha Thanks! Bringing those gloves paid off!

I do not believe there is a minimum age. We were sitting at a table with a girl that looked around 4 and she lost interest about halfway through. That is a lot of money to spend for the kid to get bored!

Oh too bad for that little girl (and her parents!), but it sounds like a great experience in general!

love the remy photos....is that enough food to fill a 6'4" 250 lb man?? lol my hubby can eat! He opens and closes Palo brunch!

LOL, I think so...especially with dessert, which kept coming!!

That Remy dinner looked fantastic! I unfortunately am not very adventurous with food though. Grand Cayman looked beautiful. I would never tire of looking at that crystal clear blue water! Thanks! Yes it was a great evening. I think if you tell them your food aversions they may be able to concoct something for you. I loved the rainforest room! I would just nap on the loungers every day and I'd literally fall asleep instantly. That's so difficult for me to do in real life. I totally need a lounger in my house...

I've just joined in, but I've already caught up! I'm loving your trip report and all of your photos. So far it looks like you've had an amazing trip. Happy belated Birthday by the way!

Thank you and welcome!!!

Congratuations on your wedding last year! You two look so cute! I think you all will have a great time on a Disney Cruise! There are plenty of adult areas, so we didn't feel overwhelmed, plus everything is on Disney-service level so you know it's gonna be great!

Ugh, so I had typed out an entire update which the Dis Boards then lost! Aack I can't get it back...anyways, so I had to retype it again, and hopefully this version is better than the first one!!

Day 4 Part 3: Prince and Princess dinner and Ooh La La!

Tonight's dining room fit the Prince and Princess theme...we were in Royal Court again! I was really enjoying this rotation of RAERAAE. It worked well for this Star Wars itinerary!

We sat in our same table in a separate room.

Still a lovely spot though.

The bread for tonight was a fig and date ciabatta which was served along with other rolls in the carriage bread basket. I totally want one of those baskets.

DH and I sat down in one of the cozy sofas. I perused the menu which had great sounding cocktails!

But what I really wanted was just a Moet Ice, so I asked if I could just get one and the server said, of course, and would I like a twist in it? I didn't know we could put fruit and stuff in the champagne but now that I think about it, it's a brilliant idea! So I just told him to surprise me.

Here was what I was presented with:

Moet Ice with an orange peel twist, mint and blueberries! It just adds a slight flavor to the drink and I really enjoyed it! My favorite cocktail as of now!

DH said he was too tired to order anything of his own so he just took a few sips of my drink. He liked it too!

When we were done, it was almost time for Return of the Jedi! DH was going to skip it, but I went to watch the first part of the movie, up until Jabba the Hut is defeated and Boba Fett gets eaten by the Sarlacc. Most overrated assassin. Ever.

We got some Mickey mail with our Star Wars Meet n Greet tickets! We got 2 meet in greets, our first and second choice, Tatooine being the next day and Dark Side on the next sea day (Day 6). They were at 9:30am and 10am, respectively. I quickly tried on my outfit for tomorrow. Although I knew it fit the week before, I had been eating like a glutton on this trip with no end in sight so I just wanted to make sure that it still fit...and it did. Whew.

Here's a little sneak peak...

The bracelet is cute. I don't remember Royal Court looking like that, but I know we ate there. I think we missed the prince/princess dinner. I think that was our Remy night:) I started back on my no sugar, grains, dairy, or alcohol diet, so your dinner is killing me:rolleyes:

Ugh, so I had typed out an entire update which the Dis Boards then lost! Aack I can't get it back...anyways, so I had to retype it again, and hopefully this version is better than the first one!!
:headache: Ugh, I hate when that happens, but I'm sure this one was much better. :goodvibes (This is why I type all my updates in Word. ::yes::)

I couldn't help but say, "Try the grey stuff, it's delicious!!"
:rotfl2: Looks gross to me, though. :crazy2: I prefer the Be Our Guest version.

We tried to make it look more like Ohana's bread pudding too...:rotfl:But the bread pudding was too small to support the ice cream!
:rotfl: Solid effort!

DH and I sat down in one of the cozy sofas. I perused the menu which had great sounding cocktails!
Those do sound good! I kinda wish I were on a couch there right now instead of at home...

We were in a smaller room off the main Royal Court area so it was slightly different - less murals more windows and drapes.

Sigh, I need to totally detox too. I'm apparently still in vacation mode the way I've been eating this past month.

That is usually what I do but I started the post during some downtime at work and thought it would be ok, but guess not... :(

Yeah me too!

:rotfl: Solid effort!

Their bread pudding was about 1/8 of a regular piece of ohana's, but granted ohana's is meant to share and this one wasn't. Haha.

Those do sound good! I kinda wish I were on a couch there right now instead of at home...

You and me both!!

coming up soon!
