Well, I'm allergic to shellfish but I'm determined this trip to go to places where dh can get lobster! Thank you so much for posting this review. I've just booked GFC for a breakfast! We're doing the resort hop earlier in the week so this will give us an opportunity to get another look at that gingerbread house!

I had the lobster eggs benedict back in May and it was delicious! Definitely not a light breakfast, but very tasty!

Wow, I didn't realize how long I'd been away for! Eek! :scared:

Anyway, glad to hear you had a great trip, and LOVING the reviews/photos so far! :thumbsup2

It sucks that your entrees at Tokyo Dining weren't quite as good as you were hoping, but it sounds like everything else was.

Your Le Cellier review makes me wish we had a reservation there :sad1:... Maybe we'll have some luck on our side if we want to eat there while we're in WDW and be able to get a walk-up. If not, I still stand by my decision to make our one signature meal at the Brown Derby. I'm excited to see how your meal was there!

I wish I was there to see the gingerbread house. The Grand Floridian is such a lovely resort, sigh.

I love how quiet the atmosphere is. I figure that will change when the Disney Vacation Club Villas are built soon. It was your review that inspired me to choose the GFC for breakfast. ;)

I think you will just love it, Tracy. The sauce blends so well with the runny yolks and makes it all super yummy!

I wish you could have squeezed it in. It really is an outstanding breakfast choice.

He will love it! There is another place I had lobster which was fabulous! It will be coming up!

Isn't it? I am already dreaming of having it again. :)

I am still holding out hope you can get an LC ADR! I managed to do it and I totally loved it! As for the Brown Derby, that will be coming up!

    L'Escargots in Parsley Butter

When I have escargot, it is usually served baked with a ton of cheese and garlic. I am now having it the French way. Audrey, our gorgeous server from France, suggested the app be eaten with the baguette. It was pretty combined because I found the parsley butter to be quite strong on its own. Definitely not for the squeamish since the texture of escargots can be quite alarming, lol.

    Cheese Platter

I love cheese! I especially love the soft stinky cheeses. I found this to be delightful especially when eaten along with the plump, sweet, grapes. I loved the Camembert, the blue, and the goat cheese the most. The firm Gouda was also good. I definitely emulated Remy when tasting this dish. I combined the flavours together and enjoyed the little gourmet fireworks of taste. It was an excellent cheese platter.

Angus Burger on a Brioche Bun
    DH liked his burger!

    Crepe Florentine

The crepe itself was huge. The chunks of chicken breasts inside the crepe was huge. I barely ate a quarter of the crepe. I found it to be disappointing just because I found the bechamel sauce to be scarce as well as the veggie components: the mushrooms and spinach. I wish they put in less chicken and balanced it out with more sauce and veggies.

    Fruits Sorbet with a Madeleine

This was DH's dessert but I pillaged it. It was absolutely gorgeous, tasty, and simple. Yes, I ate the Madeleine but DH offered. :)

    Vanilla Creme Brûlée

The crispy layer was very fragile and gave way to a sumptuous creamy layer. The vanilla cream was whipped, decadent, and lovely. This was a lovely way to finish the meal.

Overall again, I loved the apps and the desserts and didn't care for the entree. I gets a solid 4/5. Our server Audrey was lovely and excellent. I thanked her in French when we left. I said, "Votre service est fantastique. Merci pour un experience incroyable." My French is super rusty. It means your service was fantastic and thank you for an incredible experience. She smiled and giggled at the compliment.

    Your pictures are wonderful!

I would love to pluck up the bravery to try the Escargot, I am a huge fan of a garlic butter and I've been curious to try them forever! I'm anxious though that if I do one, hate one and have to leave the rest I'll look like a fool!

So glad to read a review of the scallops at Le Cellier, scallops are another thing I've never tried but would like to. I was thinking I could talk my OH into having the Cheddar Soup and me the scallops so I can sample both!

I know I wouldn't eat escargot but good for you and I'm glad you enjoyed them! We also ate at Les Chefs but we stuck to things like soup and pasta! :rotfl2: My DD ate the creme brulee as well and loved it! I only got one tiny bite but I agree that it was great! So far you're mostly having great luck and I hope it continued!

Is it Narcoossee? I have an ADR there too! Oh, no, I bet it's V&A. They don't take the dining plan and dh would never dress up enough for that :(

Thank you very much! The scallops are easier on the palate than the escargots. The scallops are fluffy and firm - like a good piece of fish. I think you will love them. Athey have a natural sweetness to them.

I wish I had ordered the Mac and cheese, Tracy. The crepe was huge and too much. I think as a whole I only had one big bust and the rest were either average or exceptional.

It is actually Captain's Grille!! Make an ADR. It is a fabulous restaurant and I can't recommend it enough. I just spoiled my own future review, lol.

Great pictures and reviews! I've never really been tempted to try a cheese plate but the way you captured that one from Les Chefs has really caught my attention.

My DH would probably have ordered the burger from Le Chefs too ;). He hasn't had too many opportunities to broaden his palate so it was quite the shock for him when we went to France (for real, not the World Showcase version :lmao:) and it was time to come out of the comfort zone.

The Lobster eggs Benedict looks absolutely wonderful! I was thinking of doing a breakfast there! I love the Grand Floridian and we aren't having any meals there so this may just get me over there! :goodvibes

I've never been to Les Chefs but the reviews have been pretty good lately! That cheese plate and either one of your desserts would make me happy! (again with the apps and dessert!)
Looking forward to that Captains Grille review, that's another one I have been hearing great things about lately!

    Love you Les Chefs review.

I have a small confession to make. I plan to try the Escargot at the French booth at the F&WF, as i've never had it before, but I have NO IDEA how to eat it. Does this dish require any extra finagling to consume or do you just, well, eat them?

good review of Chefs! I don't think I've ever seen anyone post the cheese plate from there before and it definitely looks like a good one! As Brenda mentioned it appears we have the same tastes in cheese!

Sorry your crepe was disappointing! I'm wishing Bistro de Paris was open for our French Fix but will have to make do and hope for the best with Chefs!

I believe the Escargot at the F&W booth are served inside a little brioche so you just pop the whole thing in your mouth!!

Oh my! I think it is fascinating watching people eat escargot... it it just something that's not for me. Move along little fella - you're not welcome on my plate! :snail:

The sorbet looks very refreshing but I always go for the creme brulee! Yum! Great way to put me over the "I'm so stuffed" edge.

I try not to use my French at Le Chefs since for some reason I end up saying things like "your shoe has a sneeze in it." I do find that the servers at Le Chefs are very friendly and do a great job.

I'm now tuning into your review just as much for your amazing photos as for your delightful experiences and review. :)

Thanks! My sister recently returned from Paris and she brought me back Laduree Macarons. I was in heaven.

Captain's Grille was amazing. It will be coming up soon! :)

    Thank you very much!

I usually eat it with melted cheese on a baguette. First, you have to spear them, lol.

Paula, you are going to die when you eat the cheese plate at V&As. XD

The texture of escargot is so polarizing- either you can stomach it or not. I have eaten so many strange things that it didn't bother me when I tried it the first time. I am very self- conscious about my rusty French but DH coaxed me into giving our server a compliment in her native language. The fine line of I am so stuffed have been crossed, stamped, etc. on this trip, Brenda. XD

    Fritto Misto (app)

What an incredible start to Via Napoli! Everything was delightfully crispy and fresh- surprisingly not greasy at all. The dipping sauce was tangy spicy and just wonderful on its own. The Fritto Misto platter is for two and included calamari fritti, arancini, and fritti verdura. I melted in a gooey happy puddle when I tasted my battered asparagus and greens.*

    Candele (entree)

The pasta was firm and the red sauce incredible. There also a ton of meat in this dish. It was quite lovely but a bit too heavy for me meat-wise. This is a personal preference though.

DH had the pepperoni pizza and said he would have died completely happy if it had more pepperoni. It was the best pizza he has ever had and he has eaten a ton of pizza in his life, lol. I had two slices and I admit it was incredible. the thin crust was like soda bread. The sauce, like all the sauces I have tasted, was delightful. The pepperoni was perfect. DH really loved his meal.

    Pistachio Gelato (dessert)

This was a lovely end to the meal. The praline was very light and crispy and the gelato itself, heavenly.

Overall, Via Napoli scored big with both of us. It received a successful perfect rating. It is on our list of must visit the next time we go.
