    Is the garden view rooms just as nice as water view? Thinking water view really won't be much of a view with a walkway in front.

    Also,

    Can you request a top floor room?

    AND

    Are all the rooms refurbished now?

    I think the garden view rooms are fine. We don't spend enough time in the room to worry about the view.

    You can certainly request a room location, but.....it will only be a request.

    I'm not sure if all rooms are now refurbished. We had a refurbished room for our last stay and it was really nice! I loved the theming. (Brand new fridge didn't work though. I called in to report it bur they never did repair or replace it.)

    The final room refurbishments were completed in August.

    You may request anything (building, location AB versus mansion etc) but as always, its just a request and not guaranteed. As far as water view, it may be a side view of it, etc (dont mistakenly think it is a full on view) Is it worth it? Well, we always pay for the preferred room location (its buildings 14, 18 and something in the 30?) and the reason for that is that we find the LOCATION superb in AB section, its right near the food court/restaurant , main south depot, etc etc.
    Some say the room location matters not, as does the room view, but years ago we learned...we looked at a parking lot UGH, it is Disney after all, and looking at that lot was such a turn off for us... POR is our all time fav and having been there many many, can I say many times :rotfl:, we choose the preferred and even request 18, weve always gotten a great room and location. We ALWAYS also ask for first level and have not gotten second. So, I say ask with your initial reservation (if you can) and then politely re-ask when you step up at check in, dont wait till after they hand you paperwork with your room assigned :thumbsup2
    By the way POR is an amazing resort Have a MAGICAL time...
    we should be there right now, but our pup got quite sick (vet was here today, so some meds etc and he should be okay soon) and we couldnt board him :worried: so here we are on COLD ny :crazy2:!

    I wish we were there..::yes::

    Oh, refurbed room was nice, actually preferred old set up...that little bed from tv area was strange and the storage was lessened,

    You can request anything you want but it doesn't mean you'll get it. I always request a "high floor" and have been on both the middle and top floors.

    All rooms are refurbished now.

    When staying at POR or any moderate, I always book standard. Booking the views are not worth it, IMO, since you don't have a private outdoor space to enjoy it. At POR, we kept our shades drawn most of the time because there was a lot of foot traffic going by our door at all times.

    With garden view you may still see some water and with water view you will still see some garden. Both are fine. Water view may be the river or a pool.

    All the rooms are refurbished now. You can request a top floor but there is no guarantee.
