A Christmas Wishes Wedding 12~8~14 WP, LSS,UK Terrace DP ~ NOW A TRIP REPORT!

Your Welcome! :thumbsup2 No, it does not seem bad at all. Actually I had guessed that the Bridal Bouquet would cost around $300. I was shocked when it came in under :) As far as the Ice Sculptures go... We've decided to change them. They cost $145 individually and we only needed 3(for the 3 guest tables) So we would have to make room elsewhere for the additional sculptures to meet the $750 Minimum(Disney uses an outside vendor for these). So we are in the stages of brainstorming other ideas for centerpieces :)

That's a lot lower than I would have thought they'd be! I'm looking forward to hearing about what you guys come up with for centerpieces in place of those. :thumbsup2 (Though I fully admit, those sound awesome!)

They were really awesome ;) Here is a picture of what we requested :)

Minor Update...Just received confirmation that the Comp Night is set up for the Bride & Groom at the Grand Floridian! :goodvibes Fast Passes are officially set and Bridal Shower is this weekend! This wedding is creeping up!!!

LOL! Very cool!

It's so funny--there are definitely some similarities between her wedding and mine (aside from being the same day). We haven't bought those flutes yet, but we probably are. The florist at DFTW sent me a photo of two of the flutes they offer, and I wasn't crazy for them. I found those through Arribas Bros. and am now waiting to hear back from her if all I have to do is just drop them off at Franck's beforehand for placement at the sweetheart table.

It sounds like that's all I have to do, likely!

Sorry--I don't mean to steal your flutes. Disney doesn't really have that many Mickey/Minnie wedding ones to choose from!

I agree! Their are definitely many similarities! I wish Disney had more of a variety. They really liked the Castle Champagne Flutes, but they weren't as fancy as these :)

DVC's Boardwalk Villas are on your signature line. Do you actually own points at that villa, or do you just like the resort?

I ask because I will be SOO jealous if you own there! :)

I own points at the BWV :) This past May was the first time we stayed there and we fell in love! :lovestruc

I am BEYOND jealous. BEYOND! LOL!

We are the same way, but with Beach Club. We just stayed there in September, and want in there or Boardwalk so that we can be within walking distance of Epcot. The trouble is getting points there. We've been waitlisted...but who knows if those will ever come through. :(

How did you guys get in? A foreclosure, or through Disney?

We bought a resale last year. It took us awhile to decide where to buy and we finally decided on the Boardwalk for walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. We figured those will be the main parks our kids will want to be in as they get older for the thrill rides, etc. We also had to weigh the option of buying direct or not and ultimately came to the conclusion that this purchase is to solely use in Disney World and not for cruises etc so the resale purchase won :) And if Disney ever removes the perk of being able to book at other DVC properties for resale purchasers...well atleast we bought where we want to stay ;) Now, If I can just convince my husband to add on at the Polynesian, I will be set!!:lmao:

See, and that's what I've been trying to get DF to do. When I suggested a resale, he was like, "We can't use it on the cruises!" Yeah...but I'm not sure we'll use our points to go on a cruise more than once? We own at Saratoga right now and bought directly through Disney. We do not plan on getting rid of those points. So, we could always use them for that if we wanted to do a cruise. For Beach Club though...I think we could easily just buy points there and use them for just Beach Club trips and be fine.

I wouldn't worry about how Disney removing the perk would affect you. They may remove it in the future--but I bet if your contract specifies your booking windows for non-home resorts, I bet it's a benefit they can't take away from current owners.

Tomorrow is the tuxedo appointment at Men's Warehouse:thumbsup2. I Called the Winter Gardens Location to confirm what info they need from the location in NJ to make sure everything is delivered smoothly and the lady was super nice! Also making adjustments to the floral, food etc. Hopefully I will have updated pictures and prices for you soon!

As promised, here are some pictures for you :)

We decided to scale down the alter arrangement that we had originally ordered. Reason being is because they wanted $250 for it and we thought we could use that money elsewhere. When I had emailed our florist with this decision and to get quotes on other arrangements, she sent me back a couple ideas. This is the one that we decided on... Their will be a couple on the alter with the Unity Candle :) The Bow will be Navy Blue and I have asked about having a "glow cube" added into the base to reflect off the acrylic ice.

Also, if you remember, we were leaning towards the ice sculpture centerpieces, but only needed 3 and did not meet the minimum, so to save cost, we decided to order 2 additional " Alter Arrangements" and use them as the centerpieces as well... 2 birds with one stone :cheer2: So needless to say, even with the moving fee, we saved some money which is always a good thing!

Next is our Table Names. Since we are not doing assigned(well, not "officially" assigned) seating, we thought it would be fun to have Table Names. We have 4 tables, so the names were a no-brainer....

Magic Kingdom
Animal Kingdom
Epcot
Hollywood Studios

Each name will have the corresponding icon to go with it..Castle, Tree,Ball, Hat.

Here is a picture of the animal kingdom Table Name. Its blurry so I am also adding an imagine the florist sent for better viewing :)

Now on to the Tuxes, We went to Mens Warehouse last night and are officially grouped for the wedding. The Groom & Best men went with the traditional black jacket and pants. The Groom will have a black vest and bow tie, while the best men will have a navy vest and navy neck tie.

Now for the food!!! Originally for our cocktail hr., we are serving Bacon Wrapped Scallops with a thai sweet chili-sugar glaze, Shrimp Cocktail Bites, and Pigs in a Blanket with deli mustard. We thought about adding the the Martini Action Station:
Yukon Gold Potatoes topped with Aged Cheddar, Chive Sour Cream, and Crisp Prosciutto
Creamy Parmesan and Champagne Risotto topped with Crab Gremolata
Grown-up Truffle Macaroni and Cheese with Lobster Meat Salad

I received a quote from our planner that the Action Station was $28 per person:scared1: I emailed her back stating that the price was much higher than we thought and also if it was possible to split the items apart. Ideally we only want the Mashed Potatoes and Mac & Cheese. Still waiting on the answer to that question. Anyway, my mom is worried that this all may be too much food for the cocktail hr. so we are leaning towards just adding on an additional appetizer....Spicy Ahi Tuna Cones with Soy Pearls!:bitelip: If you are on the Disboards wedding section as much as I am, you probably already saw my thread asking about the "cones & spoons". Carrie aka "Lurkyloo" was kind enough to add pictures so I could see the display. We loved both displays so much, I want to email the planner and see if the bacon wrapped scallops could be put onto the spoons since it looks so pretty!
here are the spoons and cones, if you didn't see my thread, again, thank you Carrie for the pictures!:wave2:

Hey Everyone! :wave2:We are 26 days from the wedding and only 23 days from when we get to Disney World! :yay: Some things have changed since I last updated, so lets get to them! :) We have decided to add a dance floor to the reception, upgrade the chairs, and add colored linens to the table. The dance floor will be 8x16. For the chairs, we decided on the Silver Chiavari Chairs and a navy overlay! Our planner sent some pictures for us to visualize it and we LOVE it :)

We also received a better image of what the table names will look like. They will have navy ink with a navy matte on a silver easel

In Other news, we were able to check availability in Hollywood Studios. Even though almost everywhere was available, the timing was not going to work. No reception there could start before 9:30pm, which we knew, and the more we thought about it, it was a big risk with the weather and the money that it would cost to have it there. We decided to keep it in Epcot, but I feel bad that the groom is just really not happy with the Parlor :worried: So I did some searching yesterday and found a "location" that I think would be FABULOUS!!! I stumbled upon it by looking for something else and needless to say, I was ecstatic!!! :dance3: I have the wedding planner checking availability and I am PRAYING :worship: that we can have the reception there! Hopefully I should have an answer today ;)
With all of the wedding planning, I kept pushing off going to buy a gown to attend the wedding lol :lmao: I had an idea in my head and really didn't think it would be an issue of finding it since it was basic...Black, plain, long...think of Audrey Hepburn..circa Breakfast at Tiffanys. Well....unfortunately, the styles have changed since I last went dress shopping and now 99% of gowns are backless, or sheer paneled, or short, or ridiculously expensive! Finally, I found a dress exactly what I wanted at a great price, by Alfred Sung..His style dresses are timeless, but they take atleast 7-10 weeks to come in...even with a rush!:scared1: Needless to say, I ended up buying a dress that was more than I had expected to pay, BUT it is truly a dress that I'll have forever  P.S. it looks exactly like Audrey Hepburns ;)
Next up...Our Fastpass Escort Cards!

Here is our updated budget and floral :)

We have switched the reception from American Adventure Parlor to............The Living Seas Salon!:cool1::cool1::cool1: (@ Tiffiny, now these weddings really are the same :) ) We tried for this other location, but unfortunately was booked for a private event, but we are just glad that it is not at the Parlor anymore...beautiful place, but just not the style of their wedding! Of course, my company just recently finished printing the Guidemap/Times Guide Wedding Programs and Fastpass Escort Cards which will now have to be re-done since the seating at the Seas is 6 per table(we had some tables of 8,7,etc). We will now add Blizzard Beach and Typoon Lagoon to the Table Names. Also, we just got notification that the DJ will be DJ Chuck! :upsidedow I've read great things about him on the DISboards.
