40 is a FANTASY! Chunkeymonkey & Chubbyhubby STAR WARS cruise and POLY Feb 2016 TR Link Added!!

Wow what amazing pictures!! I so want to go there one day. You also made me want to go whip up a smoothie...although it wouldn't be the same without fresh papaya I'm sure!!

Thanks! We sure ate well during the trip. I love food, as you can tell. LOL.
Yeah can't believe it's only 79 days until the cruise. It seems like so far away but I know with the holidays and stuff coming up it's going to breeze by so quickly.
I linked the tickets up from Undercover Tourist through my disney experience online and now they are linked to our reservation and magic bands. So cool! Now just to wait for my FP+ window to open up! (I have 26 days left, and no I have not made a plan on what FP+ to pick).
Only 15 days until Star Wars! LOL I am soooo looking forward to it. Enjoy your holidays!
You are my kind of Diser! Great food makes the day so much better. I am glad the link up with your tickets went smoothly. I am always reluctant to do things like buying tickets on another site for that reason. But I hear good things about undercover tourist. Now I know from someone first hand. The holidays will help pass the time as well as Star Wars coming out. I don't know if you have ever seen the movie Fanboys. Its all about a group of Star Wars fans. You'll have to check it out if you haven't. Its pretty funny. Anyways, I look forward to the rest of your PTR. You are awesome. Keep it up!!

Yeah soooo many new updates happening all the time. Did you hear Backlot Express is now serving some of the same items they had at Rebel Hangar? That is really great news as the food was so yummy and now there are more options to eat at DHS which is always a good thing!
Nope, didn't know that either, but great news! The Rebel Hangar food we had was all great. I think you are going to have to be my new Disney news source, as I just can't keep up with everything else. :goodvibes

It doesn't look like they have Yoda this time. @yulilin3 posted them on the SOTF thread. They have Vader, BB8 (lemon), & Chewie (German chocolate). I'm bummed. Yoda sounded yummy.

Oh too bad, but maybe they will make an appearance in the dessert party? They had many desserts I hadn't seen yet around the parks.

Wow what amazing pictures!! I so want to go there one day. You also made me want to go whip up a smoothie...although it wouldn't be the same without fresh papaya I'm sure!!

Thank you! I'm sure your smoothie was good! Yeah we don't get that fresh papaya here in NYC and it's a different kind anyways. I always miss it!

I didn't see any Yoda ones

:yoda: Bring it back, they must.

Undercover tourist worked out really well. We saved some money which is always good and the linkage was very easy. Now let's hope the tickets actually work when we're at the turnstiles of the park, bwahahaha.

ONE WEEK UNTIL FORCE AWAKENS! I have not seen Fanboys but I totally want to watch it now. I will have to check my netflix to see if they have it.

Thanks for reading!!!

LOL I have been trying to rely on everyone else at the DIS to keep me up to speed. @soniam does a good job with all the new restaurant openings. Hehe. :cutie:

Thank you for posting the information about the presale. We will be on the Fantasy on the 20th and I could not find any presale info anywhere... So Thanks!

DH's 40th Birthday and The Force Awakens...12/18/2015

I know I've been neglecting this PTR for a while, but with the holidays and family commitments let's just say I've had very little time to be doing anything else! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!

Can't believe we're almost at 2016! Which means we're very close to our trip now!! In fact...today was the 60 day mark! I did make all the FP+ (I didn't even get up early) and I got everything I wanted. But that is for my next post. In this post I just wanted to do a little recap of DH's 40th birthday which also happened to be the opening day for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

We didn't have time to jet off anywhere but I planned a little staycation in New York City at the luxurious Park Hyatt New York. We stayed for a night in a junior park suite and it was sooo awesome. The hotel is beautiful and the room was bigger than any apartment I've stayed in during the years I've lived in New York City.

Here's the view from the living room of the suite:

There were 1.5 bathrooms in the suite. It was great! This picture is of the main bathroom. Sorry for this wonky-looking picture. It didn't quite come out the panorama I wanted it to be.

There were separate rooms for the shower and the toilet. The toilets were those fancy Japanese Toto toilets which have built in bidets. A BIDET! Oh and there are radiant heated floors...such a luxury I sadly don't get enough of.

We didn't have much of a view though since we were on a low floor and you'd have to be above the 30th floor for a view of Central Park. It's ok though, as we had this amazing pool complex to use:

It's my favorite part about this hotel! There's also a jacuzzi and steam room next to the pool. It's never crowded and we spent some time before dinner and the next morning at the pool.

We watched The Force Awakens that afternoon at the IMAX theater near Lincoln Center. It's the only true museum-quality IMAX in the NYC area. We used to live a few blocks from that theater, so it was OUR theater for many years. I thought it would be nice to return to our old neighborhood to watch the most anticipated movie of the year.

Here was my outfit for the movie:

And here's DH at the theater! It was all reserved seating, and it was surprisingly calm at the theater. Maybe because it was during the day (we saw a 2pm show).

Steve was wearing a Star Wars t-shirt but you couldn't really tell because he had a coat and a sweater on!

Well, here are my thoughts on the movie...

I

thought

it

was

AMAZING!

It was a moment I was waiting for for a very long time...I actually started to cry the minute "Lucasfilm" blazed up on the screen. Yes, I was one of those people who did this:

I wasn't the only one. I was in a huge theater full of fans. There were lots of clapping, whooping, and cheering. I was happy to be part of the revelry. I know a lot of people are staying away from this movie for the first few weeks so that they wouldn't have to see the movie with rabid fans...but really, we are all quite tame and it made for a fun time in the theater.

I really enjoyed all of the movie, especially the cast/characters and the directing. I knew it was going to be good, but this was exceptionally good! Exceeded my expectations! Now, how long do I have to wait until Episode 8 comes out?!?!?

Later that night (after we went swimming in the gorgeous pool) we met up with some friends for a birthday dinner at Fogo de Chao, this Brazillian churasscaria with a great salad bar and AYCE grilled meats (think Ohana taken to the next level). It was delicious and we were so full we had to roll out of the restaurant.

It was a great day and DH was so happy he got to spend it watching the movie and having dinner with friends. It was the perfect kind of day for him!

The next day in the morning, we had breakfast at the Park Hyatt, and it was some of the most scrumptious breakfast food ever!

My green juice as well as other table condiments. They gave us fresh fried donut holes too!

After the morning swimming in the pool, we checked out of the hotel and then it was back to NJ. But it didn't matter as we were seeing The Force Awakens again that night with my sister and her husband. Sooo excited!!

(Yes it was just as good if not better the second time)

Coming up, I show you what FP+ I got!

But that is for my next post. In this post I just wanted to do a little recap of DH's 40th birthday which also happened to be the opening day for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Happy Birthday to your hubby!!!!!!! Mine was 40 on the 19th so we have our selves some sort of 1975 Sagitarious twins ; ) Though I'm a bad wife and sent hubby off to watch Star Wars by himself. Don't judge ; )

Wow, what a gorgeous sweet. We haven't been to NYC in quite a few years but I think our room was about a 10th the size of just your bathroom ; )

AMAZING!

It was a moment I was waiting for for a very long time...I actually started to cry the minute "Lucasfilm" blazed up on the screen. Yes, I was one of those people who did this:
So happy you all loved it.

After dinner we all went back to our suite to chill and enjoy the surprise champagne and cake the hotel left for us!

What a great surprise. Sounds like your hubby welcomed 40 perfectly!!!!!

Ok, I have read the introductions...I NEED to come back and catch up! Will try to do that this weekend!

In fact...today was the 60 day mark! I did make all the FP+ (I didn't even get

Happy belated birthday to your DH!

Here's the view from the living room of the suite:

WOW! That suite is amazeballs! I could live there!

Here was my outfit for the movie:

Super cute!

DH got the most decadent dish...a baked polenta thing with mushrooms, arugula, poached egg, and seared foie gras. Amazeballs!

OH MY! That looks increadible! I think I just drooled a little bit

Now that sounds like the best way to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens! What a great day for your husband. Happy Birthday to him. That food looked so mouth watering. What a treat!! I can't wait to finally see Star Wars. Seeing it with fans is one of the best parts!! I'll have to make time to go out with my wonderful wife. She keeps me from nerding out to much in public. LOL. Having a new baby makes it a bit tough to get out. But I am determined to do so. I can't wait to hear more about your upcoming trip and FP+. Its going to be an epic trip!

Sounds like an awesome birthday! That hotel room is amazing. We like to stay at a nice hotel in downtown Austin every now and then, but it doesn't compare to NYC. The movie was fabulous! We saw it on xmas day, and there were still a few people, besides us, even that late in the theater clapping and ooohing and aaaahing. I bet seeing it the day of was great. We only saw it in 3D, but I think we are going to try to see it in "fake" IMAX 3D this weekend. We only have one true IMAX, and it's not even as big as the IMAX in Ft Worth. They don't always show first runs, because it's part of a museum. We have a couple that are "fakes".

today was the 60 day mark! I did make all the FP+ (I didn't even get up early) and I got everything I wanted.
Congratulations!!

We didn't have time to jet off anywhere but I planned a little staycation in New York City at the luxurious Park Hyatt New York. We stayed for a night in a junior park suite and it was sooo awesome. OMG, that place is incredible!!!! The pics are all making me super-jelly!!

Well, here are my thoughts on the movie...

I

thought

it

was

AMAZING!
YAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed all of the movie, especially the cast/characters and the directing. I knew it was going to be good, but this was exceptionally good! Exceeded my expectations!
This, a thousand times this! I'm actually really concerned now because J.J. Abrams isn't directing the next two... Thank god he at least got it started right, and did the main casting.

Fogo de Chao, this Brazillian churasscaria with a great salad bar and AYCE grilled meats (think Ohana taken to the next level).
They have something similar to this is Orlando, a chain called Texas de Brazil. It's over near Universal, though, so I'm planning on doing it on my arrival night on my next trip!

DH got the most decadent dish...a baked polenta thing with mushrooms, arugula, poached egg, and seared foie gras. Amazeballs!

Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!!! That looks insane! (Insanely delicious!)

But it didn't matter as we were seeing The Force Awakens again that night with my sister and her husband.
Hardcore.

(Yes it was just as good if not better the second time)
Okay, good to know, since I do plan on going to see it again soon!

In fact...today was the 60 day mark!
:dogdance:

The toilets were those fancy Japanese Toto toilets which have built in bidets. A BIDET!
:earseek::rotfl:

And then there is DH and I who were just nuts enough to close on a house a mere 6 days before christmas and move in AND host christmas dinner!!:faint::rolleyes2 {I still don't know how we exactly pulled it off.} Unfortunately thanks to the credit union's delays in closing we had to give up our opening weekend tickets. Still not sure when we'll get to see it.:sad1:

Thanks! Hubby Twins! LOL
If it were anything other than Star Wars I would have made hubby watch it by himself too. Haha.

Wow, what a gorgeous sweet. We haven't been to NYC in quite a few years but I think our room was about a 10th the size of just your bathroom ; )

It was an amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience. I wanted to sleep in the bathtub all night. It was that pretty.

So happy you all loved it.

I may even see it *gasp* for the third time! I just lovde it so much!

What a great surprise. Sounds like your hubby welcomed 40 perfectly!!!!!

He did, thanks! He had a great time!

Ok, I have read the introductions...I NEED to come back and catch up! Will try to do that this weekend!

Hi Lynn! Don't worry, I'm a bit behind on this PTR too!.

60 days!!! :jumping1:

Yay!!

Happy belated birthday to your DH!

Thank you!!

WOW! That suite is amazeballs! I could live there!

Me too. I would just take the bathroom. I could live in that bathroom.

Super cute!

Thanks!!

OH MY! That looks increadible! I think I just drooled a little bit

It was delicious but decidedly very rich. But I guess we don't have breakfast like this ever so it was a nice splurge meal.

Thank you! I hope you and your wife enjoy the new movie! I loved it so much I'm contemplating seeing it a 3rd time. This time I want to watch it in 2D since I've seen it in 3D twice. But then part of me says, well you will be watching it again on your cruise in 2 months so you can wait that long. But knowing me, I can't. It's definitely one of those movies you can watch over and over again, just like the original trilogy.
BTW, your profile picture of your baby is adorable!! Soooo cute!!

Thanks, he had a great birthday! We saw it in 3D too, both times. I want to see it in 2D as well to get the full effect. In fact, I just want to spend the next week just rewatching the movie every day! I loved it so much too! Hope you get to watch it in real IMAX one day as it is awesome!

Congratulations!!

Thanks! I'm worry my trip will be here before I know it and then it'll be over. Waaaah. :(

I know!!! I love anything that JJ Abrams touches, so I'm a bit wary of the next two, but I think Rian Johnson who is directing Episode 8 will give a very interesting feel to the movie. In the original trilogy I loved Empire the best. I tend to like the middle films of trilogies more than the beginning and ends. (The Two Towers, Catching Fire, etc), so we'll see if Episode 8 beats out Episode 7. It'll be really tough to do though since it was soooo good.

They have something similar to this is Orlando, a chain called Texas de Brazil. It's over near Universal, though, so I'm planning on doing it on my arrival night on my next trip!

We have a Texas de Brazil too! I haven't been there but I 've heard it's very similar. Fogo de Chao was delicious!

yup it was!

Hardcore.

word.

Okay, good to know, since I do plan on going to see it again soon!

I picked up on dialogue that I didn't the first time and noticed some subtle things. It was very much enjoyable the 2nd time around, also because I wasn't crying half the time, LOL.

Congrats on the new house again! So exciting! You're very brave to host dinner after moving in! When we moved in to our house 2 years ago, it was Dec 21st. There was no way I was hosting anything! LOL. My house is still in a state of "work in progress" after 2 years. Good luck with everything! There will be plenty of time to watch Force Awakens. I dont' think it's going out of theaters any time soon. :rotfl:

I think you should see it in every format. When the hobbit movies came out I saw it in 3D, 3D D-box (where the seats move with the action), 2D, and IMAX. Yeah, it might be a bit to much but when you love it go for it. You can just add cruise line to the list of ways you have seen it. Thank you for the comment about my son. He is adorable. He is growing so fast. But don't get me started on that. I could talk about that kid forever. Although I'll say this, I can't wait for his first trip to Disney next year. Its going to be AWESOME!

Yeah the moving truck came on the 20th! o_O :scared:I may have had zero productivity this week in an attempt to recover. :rotfl:

There will be plenty of time to watch Force Awakens. I dont' think it's going out of theaters any time soon. :rotfl:
very true!
