Once again we were up too late for a proper brekkie so got ready whilst watching the maintenance people checking out the fountains, they did this every morning whilst we were there.

Ready to go out we decided to head towards Caesar’s and look for the Forum shopping area and the Lacoste shop! We were soon in the Forum shopping area which was quite extensive and the decoration was very Roman!

The ceiling was amazing as you walked along it looked like the clouds were moving above you.

Soon we found a rather nice little eatery due to open in about 15 minutes so we got in line!

The menu is extensive and we were tempted with the all day brekkies but in the end I went for The Club - Freshly Roasted Turkey Breast, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato and Mayonnaise Served on White Toast with French Fries

Whilst Nathan had the California Cheesesteak - Thinly Sliced Grilled Steak Covered with Sauteed Mushrooms, Onions, Peppers and Cheese on Our Toasted Sourdough Loaf. Served with Fries

We both had our respective cokes diet for me and full fat for Nathan. We soon demolished the sandwiches but declined any cheesecake, even though it tastes so good it was still too early for a dessert! Feeling much better we then went and finished off looking around the Forum and headed off back down the Strip.

It was now time to get some piccies of the various places around where we were staying so we went into Paris to have a nose about. It was interesting to see that the support for the Eiffel Tower actually came down into the casino!

Then we saw the Arc De Triomphe.

    Along with the National Museum.

We then turned our attention to our hotel, the Bellagio. It is amazing that when up close the hotel is huge, the impression that it is smaller than it really is, is given by the way the windows are designed. Each of the ‘4 pane’ windows is in fact an individual window to a bedroom.

A quick look back across the street to Paris.

Then a close up of the Bellagio, the little restaurants round the fountains looked really nice and were modelled on those in the Italian Lakes.

A quick look to the right shows how close Caesar’s is.

By now it was mid to late afternoon so we went back to our room as the show was at 7.30pm. Whilst getting ready to go and see Mamma Mia! As the sun was setting a huge storm surrounded Las Vegas and we could often see lightning in the mountains but it never moved directly over the city.

Shortly after 6pm we headed off up to the Mandalay Bay. Seating started about half an hour before the show and we soon found our seats, nice and close to the stage. We saw Mamma Mia! On Broadway in 2003 and that night the main part of Donna was being played by the understudy who did a wonderful job and Nathan was really impressed by how strong her voice was. Not knowing who was in the cast Nathan did comment about wanting to see the same actress play Donna, well as luck would have it she was the lead actress for Donna in the Las Vegas show! By the time the show started there were very few seats left empty and we really enjoyed watching it again as it is amazing how much you forget over time, especially the one liner’s. The show finished shortly after 10pm and we headed off not sure where to go but we did stop to get a night time shot of NYNY.

By now we were getting hungry and most of the buffets closed at or soon after 10pm, how stupid is that in a 24 hour city?!? Anyway after much walking we found a little café in Bally’s that served ‘plain and simple’ food, just right for the time of night, so Nathan had Buffalo Wings while I had potato skins with cheese and bacon. It was a busy little place so obviously a lot of people did still want to eat late. Feeling much better we walked back across to the Bellagio and fell asleep.

We found that too Claire - why do most of the restaurants stop serving so early?

we didn't realise how close all the hotels were as we split our stay between the MGM and Treasure Island and was amazed to find that it was not a long walk to each of the hotels and we need not have moved!
