Hi again Emmebear. Might have just answered my own question about Louis Vuitton bags. I pulled up Yacht Haven Grande and it sounds fabulous ! So glad you mentioned it in your report...I will spend lots of time there. It certainly appears to be a first run merchandise shopping area.

I just got this camera!! Do you like it? Any suggestions for me. Leaving for my cruise in a few days and have not had a lot of time to play with the new camera. I am coming from the Canon Rebel

I have loved reading your trip report. I am about to go on my first trip on the Fantasy soon. I'll also be on board in concierge for my birthday (18th not 3rd!;)) and my name is Emme as well! Reading your TR has sort of been a mini preview of what is to come for me, hopefully! Looking forward to more soon!

sorry for such a delay. life has gotten a wee bit crazy! however, here is an update. thanks for being patient!

    updated 10/13/13

after brunch at palo, we found a surprise on our bed awaiting us.

this was an actual layout of our cabana! it was so cute! also included was a map, our cabana bracelets and a guide. it also included a beverage order sheet as well. i was getting so excited for our cabana the next day. we had cabana 10.

i'm not quite sure if i mentioned our cabana story. i wasn't sure if i wanted a cabana or not. the price was steep at $500 for a few hours. after my window opened up, all the cabanas online were gone. i was disappointed but i decided to give the onshore concierge team a call to see if one was available. luck was on my side as she let me know that cabana 10 (which was the first cabana built and has a perfect view of the fantasy from the cabana) was on "hold" for cases like this. i was told that the cabana is "reserved" in case a concierge guest wants to reserve it. i was so grateful & so happy!

after viewing the cabana display, i headed up to the private sun deck. the concierge staff was hosting a mixer for guests. i absolutely loved this sun deck. it was hardly ever busy, it was quiet and oh so relaxing. during happy hour, my favorite bartender NAMCHAN was serving up the drinks. it was the perfect time for me to unwind before the captain's gala (life is tough, i know!)

it was time to get ready for our formal dinner, the CAPTAIN'S GALA. i'm not going to lie, some of the food had been really underwhelming on board the ship. most notably, the seafood was pretty terrible. i had high hopes for the lobster that was going to be served during dinner.

    emme & kemisha!

emme once again not looking at the camera but my mom looks so pretty!

we ran into a friend on our way down to the royal court for the captain's gala.

emme showing mickey her minnie mouse. he loved the minnie!

classic emme pose of not looking at the camera.

i love this photo even though emme's not looking at the camera.

we arrived at the royal court and was seated at our private table. i really liked having our own table. it's a perk for being a concierge guest.

    first, the bread service.

Sour Dough Bread with Roasted Red Pepper Dip
    how CUTE is the holder?!?!

and i loved little details like this:

there was so many amazing details in every dining area. it was impeccable.

    now time for some appetizers:

Asian Pear, Sweet Corn and Jicama Slaw - with avocado puree and lime vinaigrette garnished with mint leaves

the salad was refreshing although there was more jicama than asian pear. i love me some asian pear. there's no other fruit like it. so yummy!

    next:

Wild Forest Mushroom Soup - swirled with white truffle oil

the soup had a really deep mushroom flavor. i actually enjoyed it even though the color is not very appetizing. the truffle oil definitely brought out the umami flavor of the dish.

    Risotto

and the winner of the 3 appetizers was this risotto. it was almost as good as the risotto i had at the enchanted garden but this was more "cheesier". disney definitely had the risotto prepared properly on board the ship.

    now, for the main course!

Oven-baked Lobster Tail - served in the shell with lemon butter, bean casserole, and saffron rice

OH YEAH! the lobster was awesome! it wasn't dry but succulent and so tender. the butter was perfect. i was really happy with the lobster. so happy, that my mom and i both ordered a second. i felt like a total gluttinous pig but there was a man who ate FOUR so two doesn't seem as bad.

my mom enjoying her lobster (the one meal she didn't complain about). also note the sambal sauce at our table. our servers were amazing!

after we were stuffed to the brim, it was time to head back to unwind and call it a night. i was so incredibly full. the last lobster was definitely overkill but man, was it good!

we ran into one more friend on our way back to our suite.

after a really relaxing sea day, it was time to cuddle up with emme, watch a movie and sleep as we had a big day ahead of us.

    up next...HELLO CASTAWAY CAY!!

    Awesome trip report!!

We just got off of the Dream on Sunday and I, too, was pretty disappointed in the entrees in the MDR's. Glad I am not the only one! :)

We are considering a 7 day itinerary so I am reading all the trip reports on Western and Eastern Caribbean departures. Yours is fantastic!!

You have a beautiful family! I cannot get enough of your precious daughter!

Can't wait to read more about your trip!

    CASTAWAY CAY: part 1

it was finally time for castaway cay! i was hoping for warmer weather. it was in the mid 70's & was windy. i was a bit disappointed as i had hoped it would be a bit warmer. the warmest temperature on board this cruise was when we were in puerto rico. but despite the "cool" temperature, i wasn't going to let that ruin our time.

bought this on board & packed it with beach supplies!

we got off the boat & began our walk to castway cay. but not before a photo op in front of the gorgeous boat.

as we continued our walk, we ran into some furry friends!

look how cute chip & dale are in their beach gear. so dang cute! chip & dale are always fun whether on boat or in the theme parks. absolutely love them.

we continued our walk until the first stop. here, we "check in" & then we are driven to our cabana in a golf cart. i thought that was pretty neat! emme loved the ride in the golf cart.

we had finally arrived at our cabana. we had cabana #10 & greeting us in our cabana was julia! i couldn't believe the concierge team was also at castaway cay with us. it was totally unbelievable service all the way around.

julia greeted us at our cabana and snapped a few pictures for us.

    back of the cabana

....and check out this beautiful view:

i've read that cabana 10 was the first cabana built on castaway cay. it is on the family portion of the beach. it supposedly has the best view of the ship from the cabana. it was an extraordinary location & the view was unbeatable. it was breathtakingly beautiful!

and now some shots of the cabana!

welcome to cabana #10...our humble abode!

this is the living area. the cushions were very soft and plush. i loved the colors of the cushions. the layout was so inviting!

when you enter the cabana, this area is to your right. namchan had my corona awaiting me and placed them in an ice bucket after i arrived.

this is the fridge & packed with cold beverages. notice my corona AND lime wedges. it was fantastic they included the limes! the cold cloths were also a nice touch. it was a total luxury to have cold drinks whenever we wanted.

some healthy snacks to munch on (which i thought was an afterthought as there was an enormous amount of food available at the buffet).

oh hello ice cold corona light...nice to meet you!

i was totally loving the cabana. even though the cost was high, it was totally worth it. i loved that we had such privacy and SO MUCH SPACE. even though we were "secluded", the concierge team always checked in on us. you could even ring a bell and someone would come over and see what you needed. kind of crazy! we were totally pampered.

    but back to the cabana....

these were the sun loungers. they were very comfortable. i spent some time here laying down with my ipad.

more seating outside. they also supplied sunscreen!

we also had our very own hammock! this was my favorite space to relax with a beer. emme was playing in the sand with my mom & i just laid here with my cold beer. this alone made the high price worth it. absolute relaxation!

and two pictures to end this update...

    panoramic shots:

    ...more cabana pictures soon!
