Great picture, I was heading through the lobby this morning on our way out to Typhoon Lagoon and I think I saw you ladies in matching shirts about 9:45, must have been before the picture and the fun in stormalong bay!

Does anyone happen to know, if we are on the ground floor at YC and/or BC (leaning toward BC at this point) can you access your room via the patio door using your magic band so that you don't have to walk through the interior of the hotel? The last time we stayed at the Yacht Club was a very long time ago, no such thing as magic bands back then! Thanks!

When it comes to using Uber I am just along for the ride as I haven't figured it out yet. I believe that you need to set up an account on your phone and link a credit card that can be charged to it. Then you book a ride and a person who is driving for Uber sees that you are requesting a ride. They arrive and take you to your destination and your card is charged.

I actually had the chance to ask our driver if she had any trouble getting in to the resorts and she said that she had not and that all she had to do was show her driver's license and they let her in to pick us up.



Blue Zoo was great! The staff was very friendly and they even went to the trouble of making one of the monkeys freshly baked gluten free bread! Everybody enjoyed their fish and salads. It was an easy walk from the Beach Club. I'd definitely go back. Dee has some food porn pictures of our meal so you will just have to wait until she posts them.

They loved it and a couple of the life guards especially appreciated our efforts at team spirit. Some of the guests were smiling too. Others looked puzzled and a few looked alarmed.... very alarmed : )

So far today we had breakfast at Tratorria al Forno which was great. They were able to make gluten free mickey waffles which was an awesome thing to do. We could also swap out things on our entrees with no trouble like Bacon for the fennel sausage or potatoes instead of polenta.

We walked back to the room after breakfast and stopped by for a visit with our favorite greeter before we made it up to the room to get ready for the pool. We had wonderful weather for the pool with it being warm and mostly cloudy with no rain. Taking advantage of our own expertise we brought a completely plastic, insulated thermos filled with MIMOSAS and our refillable mugs to the pool. (I know... we are geniuses... right??). Nothing goes with a latex, rainbow colored, flowered bathing cap like a Mimosa drink! We were sipping and dipping in STYLE! Before leaving the pool for the day we had the chance to drip dry outside while sharing a sundae from The Beaches and Cream take out window. Remember to ask if they can make it for you at the take out window if you don't see something on the menu!

It finally started raining at around 3:30 today but by then we were already back in the room, showered and on to our next adventure.

Three of the monkeys Ubered it over to the Wilderness lodge for a tour while one monkey stayed in the room to catch up with her trip reports. The monkey that was nailed to home base in the room was receiving texts from the other 3 mobile monkeys that the Uber driver they had for the return trip to the Beach Club was not the most direction-ally accurate driver. I'm hoping that the shock of that trip is nothing that more mimosas for the monkeys can't cure. The Uber driver is on their own in the mimosa department.

Tonight we have a dinner date at the Crews Cup lounge followed by Fireworks and beverages at the Top of the world at Bay Lake.

To recap, we had two great days at Stormalong bay and absolutely No park time. It was a divine departure from the usual family trip, theme park death march! Tomorrow we plan on hitting Epcot where I will have to see if I can finally run foot loose and clothing free in the parks if it rains. A little bird told me that security has been alerted so I will have to tighten the laces on my running shoes for that faster get away!

I think I'm glad we'll be at AK tomorrow! Just saying!!! Lol. We watched Wishes floating around Volcano pool with our noodles!

To anyone trying to figure out how to use Uber message me , i am an Uber/Lyft Driver. But when I have used it I have just walked right pass the entrance to the roadway making it easy for the driver to see me and pick me up, getting back is easier considering I have a magicband and can let them in. Also, if your looking to go further than wally world uber has an fare esitmator on the orlando page which is clickable here

by the way, we are arriving Dec 22 - Dec 26th BC CL

Hi everyone. Just wanted to share that I check in on September 4th & I just checked my reservation & it now says "lagoon or pool view." It still said standard view up until yesterday. Looks like we might get upgraded! We booked with the *** deal as well. I did not fax any requests in but I did note my reservation with connecting room, upper floor, close to main pool. I'm meeting up with my sister but we check in on different days. She checked in yesterday and got room *708 which is a connecting room so we thought maybe they had planned to assign me next door but her view is definitely a standard view and her reservation still says standard view.

Just sharing my experiences so others can compare.

Did not want this question lost in the celebration of the DIS meet. I believe the quick answer is no but I'll defer to someone who's been in the ground floor of a newly renovated room.

We had a ground floor room at the YC last Sept and they lock from the inside. There isn't a way to get inside the room from the outside unless you left your room unlocked.

We had a great DisMeet last night. DH and I walked to DHS to see the Frozen fireworks while the rest of the monkies went to the Contemporary to watch Wishes. We are moving over to the YC this morning from POR and join in with their crazy shenanigans.

Awesome!! I just checked ours, we also check in the same day, and it still says Standard view in the 'my reservations' page - WTG on your upgrade!

Quick question for you veterans....I have an upcoming trip with DD, my sister and her DD. There's now a chance my sister and niece may not be able to come. If that happens, am I able to swap DH and DS into our reservation (we are all booked in one room, on my reservation)? And if so, can I do this upon arrival, or would I need to make this change in advance? And finally, would they be able to use the magic bands I've received for my sister and niece? We have bands from another trip, but don't want to lose the FPs assigned to my sis and niece. My trip is also in 5 days, if that makes a difference. (And I am not staying at YC/BC this trip, but thought you guys would be my best resource, so hope you don't mind me asking here!) Thanks so much!

Yep that was us! We were trying to locate a phone book since there was none in our room.

Welcome Miked! Our Uber drivers are picking us up right at the front doors of the resort. I can't imagine hoofing it all the way out to beyond the front gates of the hotel only to have to stand on the side of the road for a pick up. Disney security is very strict about checking the licenses of the Uber drivers every time they enter a resort. Security has no problem letting them in and the drivers we are using have no problem finding us. On the Uber app we see a description of the car, the license plate number and a picture of the driver. Also we can see the exact location of where the car is on a real time GPS map which is displayed on our phones. When we get back to the resort all we have to do is show our magic bands. Easy peasy!

We checked into the BC on Saturday and were upgraded from Garden View to Lagoon view like so many others.. Guess they didn't book many of those for this time period? We also have a daybed, a full balcony, and a super short walk to the lobby elevators. We also utilized the secret entrance near Epcot during the deluge Saturday night. My entire family thanks you all for your wisdom

Still haven't seen any of you around here but if I do I may come out of real life lurking and say hello. Or just creepily lurk around you if I'm feeling shy.
