Yes the last couple of trips I have taken in Aug has had FD.

I was just on the phone with Disney updating our reservation and she said to keep a look out in April for specials for the time we are going which is Aug. So many be free dining will be coming out in April for Aug/Sept. I really really really hope so!!!

Yes, every year for the last 9 years, there has been a free dining discount for mid to late August through September.

For that last 9 years the August/September free dining dates have been announced at the end of March/first of April.

The only exception was in 2010 when the August/September FD dates weren't announced until May 1.

In August 2010 they announced/extended free dining for 2011 (August 16, 2011 the dates were released that covered our dates in September 2011). We booked for September 2011 at that time. It was great knowing that far in advanced.

Actually that was a typo on my part, I've fixed it. On May 1, 2010 they put out free dining dates for August 15 - October 2, 1010.

Also, there wasn't an offer put out in August 2010 for 2011 free dining dates, it was actually announced on July 6, 2010 and had FD dates that went through September 29, 2011.

I know! That was a horrible wait. Everyone here on DISBoards was like whaaa?!?! My fiance (now DW) and I went in '09 and then talked my brother and SIL to come with us in 2010 for the FD. And then THAT wait happened!

HERE'S HOPING THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN IN 2013! Let's get like a March release date. Especially with the 180 day ADR period, I want to beat as many other Guests as possible.

Is this information listed somewhere or do you just know it? Our daughter is having a school trip mid April (the week after Easter) so I was hoping for FD at that time. We have DVC so have never been able to get a MYW package with FD and I'd really like to do that this time since we won't be using DVC points for this trip.

Any idea, historically about April? Or can you point me to where the stats are kept?

I think we will see releases of a promotion in a week or two for the early part of 2013. Right after the most recent promotion expires. As for if it will be free dining, only time will tell. I have a feeling it may, but they change things so often I like to be cautious about predicting things.

They have never, in 9 years, had a free dining discount in April.

Any news on February 2013 FD? I am planning on going from Feb. 9-15 and this would be great. I have three boys, would it be worth upgrading the meal plan from a value deal.

I'm about to give up on free dining for January. We wanted to go and take our son (28) and our daughter and her 2 kids, 15 & 2. We've taken my son and granddaughter many times not not my daughter and the baby. The free dining would help us so much and we really can't go if FD isn't offered. I'll keep checking and hoping. I need to start making dining reservation! There won't be anything left.
