    Hi Folks,

It seems the Chat Room is broken and will not be functional until tomorrow evening.

    Sorry about this!

    See you next week!

Thanks for letting us know. Have a great week! I had a Spanish witness with a speech impediment and a head injury today, so I think I'm just going to go bed! Ha!

So I'm guessing this makes your a courtroom stenographer or similar(considering the username)? If not, that's a very strange day!

Is anyone planning on chat this week? - I might plan to stay up again.

You are correct, sir! Though you don't actually win anything. Sorry. I am a courtroom stenographer sans courtroom. I do all the depo work leading up to the trial, but then a state/federal employee court reporter takes over at the courthouse. When I first started steno school my goal was to do a court reporter swap and go over to London for a year to work. About 20 seconds after I made that goal I met my future husband and that was 16 years ago now. Is that one of those situations where you win some you lose some, or is it more like win/win?

My goal is to attend chat this week. Jeri is just going to be coming back from a few days away for some training in geothermal stuff so I might get distracted getting him fed and his clothes going in the washer and all those things that go on after you've been away for a bit. I do have an alarm set on my calendar though.

The following has nothing to do with anything:

I have recently discovered that there is a Hello Kitty plane. I know, right!!!! I really feel that my life probably will not be complete until I fly on it. The boarding passes even have Hello Kitty on them. There's Hello Kitty pillows and Hello Kitty food and even Hello Kitty TP (which actually is a little gross.) Anyway, they pretty much fly to Taiwan from LAX as far as routes I would possibly have a sliver of a reason to fly. So I'm thinking LAX to Taiwan to Tokyo Disney! Excellent plan!!!! Yeah, there are some snags from the is she crazy angle, but, HELLO, HELLO KITTY! If it were Choco Cat the tickets would already be booked. Just saying. Choco Cat rulz!

Which the discovery of the Hello Kitty plane leads me weirdly into the next thing. I discover the plane (get way too excited) start searching the web for Disney Tokyo blogs/trip reports, find one with awesome photos (love me some photos) and settle in to basically waste an entire Saturday reading about Japan, get done with that (really want to go bad now) and start surfing around the rest of this guy's blog and see that he and his wife went to Disneyland for Christmas a few years ago so I start reading that 1)because I want to know what kind of layering I'll need to be doing so I'm basically stalking his wife to see what she's wearing every day and 2)because I really need to clean up the house and get some work done and this is some great procrastination.

So at the end of their vacation they do the Disneyland tour of holiday decorations and I have to say it seems pretty cool. Plus, a nice way to avoid some of the crowds that are always there during the holidays. Then he says he and his wife met this really cool person on their tour and they really hit it off and enjoyed meeting her and here is this photo of his wife with her. And I TOTALLY KNOW HER!!! What are the odds?!?! Her name is Heather, she's a Dis'er and I've been on a couple of ABDs with her now. And these people's blog has even more validity for me now because they said she was cool and I know she's cool so, ergo, I must go to Tokyo Disney!
What? You don't see the connection? Anyway, I call Jeri back to the office and show him the photo, and he said it's kind of like Where's Waldo but with Heather. What a great idea! I would totally play that game.

To try to bring this back around to topic (it's hard but watch me work my magic) Heather was supposed to go on our trip with us here in a bit but had to cancel for some family stuff, so it's sad you all are going to miss meeting her and seeing her awesome photos, but family first and all that! And also I'm kind of digging the idea of the holiday tour. We're staying an extra day after our Adventure so I'm wondering if a specific holiday tour will point out some things that we don't cover and help us navigate the crowds a bit better outside the ABD bubble. Plus, there's a nice pin, and who doesn't love that?

This sounds like a sitcom and made me laugh out loud.

I hope the person is okay.

    Lauren,

How I've missed my installments of "Life with Lauren"

You make me smile :) sorta like a big Cheshire Cat grin, then the giggles start.

You should be writing books or maybe even better, stand up comedy. I for one would come to the show. And we can Heather to do the musical interlude.

    Hugs to you and Jeri

I miss you, Lauren! I agree with Marilee...you need to write a book or something. The world is missing out on your wonderful story telling abilities!

I didn't realize that Heather had to cancel. Sad that she won't be with us but family definitely comes first!

I'm planning on being in chat on Thursday. Look forward to talking to everyone.

I'm in the Lauren Boxx comedienne extraordinaire fan club too!

I am completely for the Hello Kitty plane (kawaiiiiiii!!!!!) and the trip to Japan. Perhaps your new entertainment/writing career can help finance what could be the best scrapbook ever.

I am super sad to miss sharing this trip with all of you, but will look forward to the scrapbook pages! :goodvibes

    Absolutely!!
I have never seen World of Color- but the Winter Dreams version will do just fine!!

Last time we were at DL, they were testing World of Color in the overnight hours and we had a bit of a view of it from our DVC room at the Grand Californian. It looked beautiful, but not yet fully operational. I am so excited to be able to see it- with Glow Ears on??? (perhaps :duck:)

First, I don't even understand how you and Dino are not on this trip! You will sorely be missed. Plus, what could possibly be more fun than watching me try to use Jeri as a human warmer?

I should totally write a book. Except, looking back on my school work, I'm not that creative. My creativity seems to be situational. If I could only figure out a way to make it omni present that would be so cool.

BUT I actually have a book idea that would be wicked cool (I learned wicked cool from a friend from Boston!) So this is the true part. Years ago after my mom got out of secretary school she went to work for the CIA in D.C. and then later they sent her to Argentina. She actually has a real aptitude for picking up languages that she did not see fit to pass on to me. (so sad) So she worked for the "State Department" in Argentina for a year, and they actually used her apartment as a safe house for agent meetings. But after a year she got homesick, being only 18 years old believe it or not, came home went to court reporting school and settled down to a normal life.

Or did she? She claims to have no memory whatsoever of any of the work they did or anything she typed or did or anyone she met. uh-huh. Mom, okay, whatever. Maybe she was flashy thinged by the Men in Black? That would explain so much.

But what kind of cool book could I write just based on that? James Patterson would have a whole series by now.

Sadly, on stage I become the WB frog, ribbbiittt. Thanks for believing in me though!

You, me, Hello Kitty Plane, Japan = totally going to happen!

Count me in too! I am ready to do my duty and Glow With the Show so that others may appreciate my ears while I appreciate the ears of others! I loved cute Shaun talking about appreciating others' ears this week on the show.

My biggest look forward to is Cars Land though. I've been drooling over that ever since they opened the doors. :yay:

It was great to see everyone that could make it chat last night! :grouphug:

A couple of goodies from ABD...don't get too excited about the contents though. The real reason to get excited is that the BOX means that our trip is nearly upon us!!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana:

Yes The Box is much less exciting than it used to be in regards to contents. Mostly its function now is to say the trip is super close, like you can almost get out the suitcase close.

I don't want to ruin it for anyone by saying exactly what's enclosed. IMO The Box itself is now finally cuter than what's inside the box. But that's just my opinion! Feel free to love the contents!!
