    Day 20 - Typhoon Lagoon (2) - T-Rex

In keeping with tradition, we met up with Martin, Wendy & Co. around 8:30 and made the short journey in convoy, to Typhoon Lagoon. Once inside we had another group photo before joining the queue waiting for rope drop.

Soon the crowd was heading in all directions as we made our way to our usual spot on the edge of the shore. Once bedded in, we headed for our first ride of the day, which was Crush n Gusher. We rode this a few times in succession, although it was disappointing to see that the three person rafts have now been removed from the ride. Next up was Storm Slides, which I think we rode all three options and then we headed off to the family raft ride.

The queue here always seems to be lengthy but the ride itself more than makes up for it. On exiting the ride, we returned back to the sunbeds via Castaway Creek, courtesy of a few vacant tubes floating by.

We chilled out for a while and had the odd dip in the wave pool before deciding to get some lunch at Leaning Palms.

Nigel: Chilli Dog with Fries Cheesecake Orange Juice.
Sue: Hot Dog with Fries Cheesecake Orange Juice.
Emma: Hot Dog with Fries Cheesecake Diet Coke.

Returning back to the sun loungers, I had a few minutes sleep whilst the others messed around in the wave pool. We all decided then to have a few circuits on Castaway Creek and met a few photopass photographers along the way.

One of the Lifeguards decided to have a little fun with one of his colleagues and was asking the guests on the passing tubes to wish the female lifeguard situated at the start of the tunnel, a Happy Birthday! This had obviously been going on for a while since we could hear Happy Birthdays being shouted way before we reached the tunnel and also long after we had passed through it. We finished the day off with a session enjoying the large waves, before calling it a day at 15:45.

Returning back to OKW we showered, changed and then met up with our friends Margaret and Geoff at OKW Hospitality House. I had previously made a group booking for both families at Hoop Dee Doo Review, so we needed to reallocate the credits on our respective dining plans. This was our second visit to Hoop this holiday (and our sixth in total!) but Geoff, Margaret and family had never been before and did not know what to expect. We all returned back to our room for a drink and then they made their way back to the Polynesian.

Tonights ADR was another first for us, with a visit planned to T-Rex. As we were a running a little behind time we decided to drive the short distance rather than taking the boat. On arrival we were greeted by a huge queue at the entrance, however checking in with our ADR we were soon shown to our seats within five minutes.

The theming inside is very well done with a spectacular meteor shower taking place at regular intervals. The constantly changing light show within the ice cave is also amazing.

One thing that distracted from the enjoyment was the constant shouting and screaming from over-excited children. It was LOUD!!!!!

Nigel: Tyrannosaurus T-bone Steak with Waffle Fries Vanilla Ice Cream Diet Coke.
Sue: Layers of Earth Lasagna Cosmic Key Lime Pie Diet Coke.
Emma: Lost World Chicken Salad Sandwich Sorbet Sampler Diet Coke.

The food was served quickly and was very enjoyable although it was noticeable that little thought had been given to the structure of the seating plan, since every little gap between the tables seemed to be used as a passageway by all. I find this most annoying when you are eating, and as such I think we will give it a miss for a few years. On leaving the restaurant we had a slow wander around Westside soaking up the atmosphere, before returning back to OKW and finally calling it a day.

Yeah i'm not a massive T-rex/Rainforest Cafe fan, I find them to always be too cold and they are very busy, I do like the food though.

We did RFC a few years ago at Animal Kingdom, and we felt it was rushed and the food was just so-so.
The T-Bone steak at T-Rex however was delicious! :thumbsup2

The food was great, I just feel that the layout was a little cramped, but the theme is first class. I am sure you will enjoy it. :thumbsup2
