2011 USA trip - aka mice & wizards & pirates, oh my!

Thank you for doing a trip report! I really loved reading along. I agree with PIO, get him the PS3. It will give him something to do at home while you cruise the DIS and you both save. How exciting you have another trip to plan!

Thank you for the wonderful trip report. I keep hoping that there is more to come. :surfweb: Thoroughly enjoyed travelling with you. :thumbsup2

I have have huts finished reading, love your descriptions of WWOHP and am off to look up Serendipity in NY.

Just found and started reading your TR and really enjoying it! Looking forward to reading more :goodvibes

to all those that are reading along -- yay!! thank you for taking the time to read along on our journey with us.

we are planning another trip this year, probably end oct/nov trip encompassing dlr/wdw/wwohp/back to dlr for few days then home. a bigger trip, but with soooo much more time in the parks to explore & really see the things we want to see. we want to do so much more than what we managed to squeeze in last time.

please feel free to ask any questions/comment. it's all welcomed!!

Have just read your whole report Alicia (have been away so haven't been able to follow along).

What a great report! Really enjoyed it! I was drooling at Serendipity 3, I really wanted to go to the one in NY but I forgot :rotfl: So I really loved reading about that and seeing your food porn, I was drooling.

Your hotel drama sounded a nightmare! I have had the preauthorisation drama before and I was furious. I had card drama at DL once too, was adding a photopass photo at Goofy's Kitchen to room charge (had just charged dinner to our room), when we were declined room charge :scared1:
Back at the hotel to see what was going on (we had prepaid for our room in full too, so we were only room charging the odd meal or photopass etc). I had lost my credit card that day and had put a stop on it. Had planned to pay cash for our hotel bill when we left a week later, so whilst losing the card was a pain, we had another card and plenty of cash. I had put a stop on the card when I realised it was missing, went out for dinner, got the dinner charge in, before Disney cancelled our room charge. I just thought a credit card was held there, I didn't realise they would check after every room charge if the card was valid  Anyway we just gave them another card and it was sorted.

Sounds like you have had good service from the hotel now, pity you had to have that stress on your holiday. Sorry you got sick whilst away, it's terrible when that happens. Glad the holiday was amazing. Thanks for sharing your journey :goodvibes

hey aussietravellers -- thanks for reading along. so sorry to hear about your card dramas. i found it really embarassing and frustrating, especially when we had plenty of $$$ available and they treated us like we were broke or something. lol. i guess they get scammed by people too though, so by the time we got home, i could look back on it and brush it off as a small inconvenience, but at the time i was hopping mad!!

serendipity 3 was awesome. i missed it in nyc, but i've heard their storefront there is quite small and 'intimate' sized -- ie nyc speak for tiny :) the one at caesar's palace is quite large, a full sized restaurant, so to speak. they have a takeaway window where you can order your food to go, or you can do table service in the restaurant. we probably should have taken it to go, as it would have been cheaper, but it was nice to sit & eat indulgent & calorie-laden food and just people watch on the strip :) the footlong hotdog was nice, but the burgers were truly gorgeous, trina's pepper-vodka pasta with proscuitto was amazing and the desserts and frozen hot chocolate were to die for. hope you get to experience it either in the original or the vegas version!! no reservations were required when we went, we just walked up, requested a table, then after about a 20min wait, we were seated. service was prompt.. not too fast, so you have plenty of time to peruse their whole menu (and it's huge and fully of yumminess, so sometimes it's hard to decide) but from time to order to delivery was probably only 15 mins, if that. :)

when we go back to the states in 2013 (carlo wants to go to star wars weekend) we'll be making a quick stop through nyc and serendipity is def on the to do list :woohoo:
