$15.00 Refregerator Credit @ POP

    I am at POP now and do not have one of the new fridges-bummer.:)

    Has anyone tried asking for a refrigerator credit at POP?:)

    I asked on Tuesday and was told no by a manager. She said that since they sent letters and are in the process of replacing fridges that the credit was ended.

    I didn't bother trying to go back and ask someone else, but I may.

    Yes. In August I got the credit. When we got our room I saw there was no fridge so on the way out stopped by concierge desk and asked if we were given a credit. CM said no, fridge isn't an amenity. I asked, well what is an amenity. CM hedged around and finally said it was taken off the amenity list :rolleyes: sooo I said, when we booked it WAS on the amenity list!!! CM ungraciously gave us the credit. Was like pulling teeth. You'd have thought it was coming out if her personal bank acct.

    Stick to your guns and you should get it. They will try to not do it.

    I got it in Aug. as well. I must have been lucky, because they said, OK.
    No pulling teeth, no discussion, I just asked about it and got it.
    I have heard that it has gotten more difficult as time goes on.
    If the fridge was listed in the description when you chose POP, I would state that.

    I guess not all CMs are miserable like mine was. I think ( or hope) most CMs are like yours, who still give the service Disney is known for. The CM I had was so difficult I just dug in my heels on general principle.

    I agree. We got the credit in August, but I had to argue to get it.

    Letter or no letter, if you booked your room before the July announcement, and you still do not have a fridge, demand the credit and don't let them make you feel bad for asking and don't take no for an answer. Ask to speak to a manager.

    We just got back a few weeks ago and were denied a refund.

    It would be great if Disney made a decision about something and stuck to it. We had the exact opposite experience at Music. We checked in Aug. 4 and were informed that there was no fridge in the room. When I told the cm (a wonderful woman named Kathy) that I had read that they gave a credit she said "yes, that's right you can have one" with a big smile on her face. Because we did not leave charging info. on file we were paid the credit in cash.

    It was my understanding when the credit was originally being issued you had to have a refrigerator request on you reservation in order to qualify for the $15 a day credit ?

    This could be why some guests are being told no to the credit.

    Nope. It was just listed as an amenity when I booked my trip. I had no special request on my reservation.

    I think that guests are just being told a variety of reasons why they will not get a credit, because of course the resorts don't want to dole out the money. But it's frustrating when some cm's happily give the credit while others say no. :confused3

    Back when the letters were sent out to TA's it was stated you had to have it listed on your reservation but that was months ago.

    I can't believe There are still resorts without Frdges still.

    Hmm...I didn't know this. We booked directly through Disney and I received a letter when I returned home from my trip. :rotfl: But my letter just basically said sorry for the inconvienience. It didn't mention anything about having a fridge listed on my reservation and it did not mention anything about a credit.

    When I was at Pop in August I was given a $10 credit per night. I'm not sure why I didn't get $15, but at least it was something.

    Didn't feel like "fighting" them.:)

    here now at pop! our room has a fridge. upon check in it was explained that we may not have one, but if we needed/wanted one we could call down and one would be sent.

    Unceremonious is the word, my CM went from super-friendly to super-snooty in 0.2 seconds when I mentioned I'd "heard about the credit" if there was no fridge in the room. I was ready to fight for it although I really didn't want to because I hate confrontation lol, but there was a new fridge in the room so it was a moot point. Honestly I'd have preferred the credit but oh well!

    Anyone have an update on when the replacements are supposed to be complete. We check in 12/4 and I'd like a refrigerator.

    I am here now... if, upon checking into your room you don't have one, you can request that one be sent to your room. we arrived on 10/22 and there was one in the room (60's building). no issues at this time. but if you need one because your room doesn't have it when you arrive. let them know and they will bring you one

    Things may have changed since I was there 10/11-10/20,but I was told to call Housekeeping and they would bring me one-was then told by Housekeeping none were available.:)
