St. John Westin

Has anyone tried booking a day room at the Westin on St. John the way people do at Atlantis in Nassau?

I recently stayed there for a week. Althoug we had a great stay, I don't see any advantage to a day room. The Westin charges $70- 75 per person RT for their shuttle so there is no benefit there. Their beach is not very good. I would just take the ferry and grab a cab in Cruz Bay to one of the many great beaches.

That being said, as much as DH and I LOVE St john, we will stay in St. Thomas when we go on our Disney cruise. With two young kids, the travel time and fear of getting to the ship in time is not worth it to us.

I've moved this over to the main cruise forum for you - hopefully you'll get some more responses there.

We own a timeshare week at the Westin St. John villas. If you are looking for a beach I would also not recommend it - there are plenty of better beaches to visit on St. John (within 10 mins of Cruz Bay) - however you will need a taxi or rental car.

If you are looking for a very nice resort with lots of ammenties (pool, kids club, spa, meals) then it is a good choice - along with Caneel Bay. I do not know if Caneel Bay or the Westin offer day rooms.

St. John Westin

I didn't know the Westin is a timeshare? What Co. is it? We were there in 1997 it was the Hyatt but it was closed down. We rented a house for our honeymoon, that was great. With the cruise timing I think we'll stay on St. Thomas and check out Coral World and Coki Beach.

I can assure you that Caneel Bay does not offer day rooms.

You can get to the nicest beaches by taking the hiking trails right next to the ferry dock in Cruz Bay.

Westin took over the property from Hyatt (hotel) and Virgin Grand Villas (timeshare villas). Westin's timeshare company is owned/operated by Starwood Vacation Ownership. You can find more details at starwoodvo.com.

That would be Honeymoon Beach, which is great for snorkeling!
