Family of 5 value resort

Hello,
We are starting to plan our trip for 2007. DH has never been and none of our 3 kids either 7, and 4 yr old twins. I went when I was a teen 20 years ago.

We want a magical experience but of course we have a budget too. I thought we would be fine staying in a value resort but it looks like we would have to get two rooms??? Sort of defeats the purpose. Do any of the value resorts offer roll away beds?

Hi,
I believe that you cannot have five in a room at the Values. You either need to get two rooms or stay in the moderate resort, Port Orleans. They have a trundle bed and allow 5 guests.

They will only permit 4 in a value, unless one of the children is under 3 years old. POR is a moderate that sleeps 5. There is a trundle bed under one of the beds. I'd check and see if 2 rooms at a value is more or less than 1 room in alligator buyou of POR.

For our November 2004 trip two rooms at a Value was just slightly more ($100 maybe?) than 1 room at POR. We opted for the extra bed and bathroom space and had a great time. It was fine for our 8 days and more than met our basic needs.

If your not going until 2007 you might be able to get a family sweet at a value resort. There are pictures of this at allearsnet.com. I do remember reading on the DIS you cannot book these yet but mabey by 2007 one can. I don't know how much these cost though.

Family of 5 with connecting rooms at POP...

that way we can put kids to bed and hang out in our room. It was just a little more than 1 room at POR. And young kids will like the theming of POP. We leave in 7 days. Can't wait! [All Star Movies was our First Choice but POP was less expensive because of the package deal].

this is the site that was mentioned

http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/g_asuites.htm

but with this suite (if WDW does this) - then you only get one bathroom. Although the kitchennett might make up for the 1-bathroom (there are plenty of restrooms near the pool for an emergency)

With 4 yo's...

you should be fine at POR. There is also much to do at that resort, including surreys, boating to DTD, etc.

You'll have to do 2 rooms when your kids get older. Might as well squish 'em in when you can!
