Trading Pins in Carry On?

This may be a stupid question......

I started a collection of Disney pins for trading (Kelloggs, Energizer & Ebay). I was planning on putting them in my carry on... then I started thinking that maybe I shouldn't because they could pose a problem in airport security. So my question is where do you pack your pins?

TIA

i think i did

I am pretty sure i had my pins in my carry on bad in December. That's where I found them as I am getting ready to pack my bags again.

I shouldn't think that they would be an issue...there isn't a point on them long enough to be used as a weapon. But the amount of metal might make them take a look at the inside of you carry on bag.

And I think I saw kids wearing theirs in the MCO airport by the gates...so if they can get through..so should you.

Maybe someone else will be able to second this now that I gave it a little bump!

There shouldn't be a problem bringing them on the plane. We fly USAir and bring 3 of the large pin books as carry ons. After the books go through xray they are opened and looked at page by page. It doesn't take that long and my son usually has a nice conversation with security.

Did not need to resort to hissy fit
Why is it a his-sy fit and not a her-sy fit?

We had a bag of pins in Jan. No problem. I did mention to security what was in the bag, however as I put it in. (Southwest)

We always carry ours in our carry on. I personally jusat stuff my pin filled lanyard in backpack and send it through xray. My Dh carries a pin bag that usually gets searched since they can't tell what it is on xray. MCO sees them all the time so no searching there.

My bag always gets searched at bradley airport in hartford. The security people always think I am a bit strange because I have about 500 pins in my bag. However I never had a problem having them as carry on. WARNING: July, 2004 trip coming home, I was sick and packed my pins in my checked in luggage. Pins were stolen out of bag. TSA finally did reimburse me but not for the full amount and a lot of them were special pins that we traded with CM's. I strongly advise never to put the pins in checked in luggage. After the fact someone told me my pins were probably put on ebay.
