Our friends are a higher lever CC member, can they include us in Palos?

The five of us plan on eating at Palo's for brunch. Since our friends, in a linked cabin will be able to make reservations before us, can they include us since we'll need the larger table?

No. When their booking window opens, they will only be able to make Palo reservations for any adults that are in their stateroom. If you are in different rooms, you will have do your own booking when your window opens. Don't worry if it's not at exactly the same time as your friends. Once onboard, just go to where Palo dining changes are being handled and adjust the reservation to include everyone.

It's easier to make changes to already existing reservations then to get new ones onboard, typically.

When booking Palo, yes they can add you as long as your reservations are linked and you must be paid in full. If you are not paid in full, they will not be able to include you in the reservation. When they go to book, it will allow them to choose any adults on linked reservations to join them but again, everyone must be paid in full.

They cannot book anything else for you such as spa or excursions. You have to wait until your booking window opens to book those.

We traveled last month with DBF's mom and sister. They were in a connecting cabin and had their trip paid off long before the PIF date. We were able to check in 15 days earlier and could not have booked Palo with them. We would have had to wait till their check in day.

There used to be a loophole that linked reservations could book Palo together, regardless of CC status. That was closed some time ago. Now, each room is only allowed to book for those adults in their room when their window is open.

Our friends are Platinum and we're Silver. It doesn't make sense that they can't book the table for all of us; we want to sit at the same table; we are a group. Is it because there aren't enough tables?

I don't think so. It just has to do with the Castaway Club perks, and what's available at the different levels.

In our experience, those with the earlier windows should just go ahead and book the reservation they want. When the window opens for those with a lower level, they should make a reservation for whenever they can (ideally the same time, or as close to it as they can). Once onboard, you just go to where the Palo dining changes are being handled to adjust the reservations so they are together. They do hold back a significant number of spaces for booking once onboard, so theses sorts of changes are usually quite easy to make.

There are a limited number of reservations and only half are released online at the 120 day mark with the rest being available first come first served onboard. Getting a reservation at 120 days is something that platinum CC members earn after completing 10 cruises -- not them and anyone they want to link their reservation with who isn't platinum. If DCL allows anyone linked with a platinum member to make a palo reservation, that takes away spots that gold CC members have earned the right to reserve after completing 5 cruises. This was a complaint that many gold and even silver had if first time cruisers secured through platinum CC members, so DCL closed the loophole that allowed it to happen initially.

Weird, I couldn't book for my parents, who were lower. That was for WBTA in Sept. It was easy to add them when we were onboard, but I'm sure that the capacity of the ship had a lot to do with that.

I do agree that you should both make reservations and then get a table together when you embark.

I am Gold and the other two couples I am traveling with are Silver. I was not able to link them to my Palo reservation when attempting to make it online when my booking window opened up for Palo even though my TA had told me I could (she had checked with DCL beforehand for me). So I called DCL directly and they changed my reservation to a table for 6. There are no other specific names on my reservation other than my own even though I am linked to two other staterooms. I travel next month and I have received my info from DCL for our cruise and it states I have a table for 6 at Palo

We're signed up to go on our first cruise (Disney or otherwise) in Feb on Fantasy. Our 75 day window doesn't open until late Nov. We're traveling with friends who are concierge and they were able to include us on their CC Cabana reservation, their Remy brunch reservation, and their Palo dinner reservation. If I log into my Disney account, these show up on my itinerary, which is exciting! From what it sounds like, this must be a concierge perk?
