Where can my Girl Scout troop meet?????

I am going crazy trying to find a location that is FREE other than the school cafeteria, which is too big and the girls run too wild in. I have called so many churches and they want a member to be in attendence, and I do not have a mambership right now (we are still looking) anywhere! Can anyone else think of another location I could try? We cannot do houses- our council frowns big time on that.

Our grocery superstores often have community meeting rooms. You can also try larger retirement homes. My son's boy scout troop met at an elementary school in the gym - and yes they ran wild in there too!

Have you tried somehow making the area in the cafeteria smaller? Are there any moveable chalk boards or dividers in the cafeteria that you could use?

No, no,no, those red signs with the word STOP on them are optional if they have a white border.
I hope you like Debbie Gibson? I did not and got busted at a DECA National Convention for skipping her concert!

We are talking about some crafty seven year olds!

WOW what fast replies! I will consider all options. The public Library and the Hen House supermarket have meeting places, I may try there for ease of location.

I will check back for any other ideas!

Yeah, no, I could tell you already our teachers at my school would have puppies if they had to loan out their classroom. I did think about it for a split second, but I have ten girls and I fear actually destroying something they shouldn't.

We met in classrooms for years.....most of the time we had no problem...
I know they tried to put us in the gym once....the afterschool program was on the other side of the divider....noisy chaos...!!

Actually the best space we had in the school was the Home ec room... great space..the teacher was fantastic ..even let us use the kitchens a couple of times and the tables were great for projects!!
unfortuanately it was turned into a computer room and the kitchens taken out..oh well....

good luck..how old are your girls?

We can use classrooms in our elementary school for different things.

Boyscouts and girlscouts both have used them. I also have used them for sport meetings with kids and adults etc..

No teacher here believes her classroom is too "good" for the youth in her community which she works...thank god they dont feel the same way as the teachers in your community!
