Someone should invest in an actual Character Costume, like the ones at the park themselves. I think this would be hilarious.

They wouldn't let that person into the park. If a costume is so good that you could be confused with an actual CM, they will have you change clothes.

There will be a 10 and an Amy (hey, it makes sense... it's just all wibbly wobbly ) on Sept. 25th! We couldn't find inexpensive items for the suit and trench for DH, though, and he didn't want to be too hot, so we got a costume shirt from Forbidden Planet. We're going to look for some accessories and my costume so I will post pics when it comes together more. Can't wait!

My fiancee and I are attending the MNSSHP on the 30th as part of our honeymoon. Our current plan is for me to go as Frankenstein's Monster and for her to go as the Bride of Frankenstein, using her actual bridal gown as the main part of the costume. We have an ADR at CRT at 3:45 that day so we plan on just bringing our makeup and head gear in a bag. The CM who took our ADRs confirmed with her boss that we could get away with coming into the parks earlier than 4 in costume as long as it wasn't scary, gruesome, or something that could potentially get us confused for a CM.

Just wanted to make sure that you know that you will have to have a regular park ticket in addition to your MNSSHP ticket in order to get into MK early enough for your reservation. You will have to get your wristband for the party after your meal. Have fun and congrats on your upcoming wedding!

Yes that 15 year old was told she had to change her clothes but it wasn't Halloween. I'm part of another forum the RPF its for costumes. One of my friends over there made a Rapunzel costume. I mean like EXACT replica to the cartoon. She even had her own material custom printed to mach the design print on the center part of the skirt to be that exact. She went in all day like that even before the MNSSHP. She said Halloween anything goes (except gory or scary). They warned her not to sign autographs and that she could take pictures if some one asked as long as she told people she was not affiliated with the park. She said she did have a problem later in the night though that people were trying to jump in her photo pass pictures with them. (her b/f went as Flynn, she made that costume as well.) So according to her you can go into the park durring halloween as anything.
BUT as far as the big mascot type costume they could probably deny you access because your view and the view of others would be objected or something lol

I think she looks more like Rapunzel than that 15 year old looked like Tink! Here was her costume if your interested :

That is outstanding!!!

Last Oct... a group of girls saw our 6yo waiting for the parade to start.. They noticed her actions are identical to those of the real princess CM... They came over and asked to take pictures with her.. My daughter had her own line of people...

THIS.

The thing that EVERYONE must know about the costume rule, ESPECIALLY during Halloween, is that what Disney is trying to avoid with the policy is being seen as responsible for anyone in the park in a costume. If people start lining up for photos and autographs, there are bound to be people who think this is a character provided by Disney entertainment, and that Disney is responsible for that. Disney does not want to be responsible for any entertainment that they do not provide themselves, especially if they could do something that would get Disney in trouble.

So, to avoid that at all costs, they stop you from being dressed up if you are signing autographs and taking pictures, but if you are adamant about the fact that you are not there for Disney, you do not represent Disney, you are not a character, you just dress up, and you donít sign autographs, they are absolutely more lenient towards that. Doesnít mean that someone might not stop you from doing it because it technically is against policy- thatís just what the policy is there to prevent.

That makes perfect sense. It sees that would probably happen more likely with older kids and adults. Surly my younger kids could not be mistaken as representing the park could they?

an update:

my friends that I am going with do not know and do not care for Doctor Who, and they want to do something as a group. They've already decided... I'm upset... but at least I know I'll be there again at another party in October. So I won't be attending as the 11th on the 21st, but my costume will at least be kinda cool...

why? i mean i know people who have, but i dont understand the point. it would make for a hard night...

as it is, my cinderella dress is not park accurate, but it could make trouble afa cm's are concerned. and im worried, but less as it is not park accurate.

i know that rapunzel and flynn!!! they will be with us on sept 30th! (and she is movie accurate, not parks ) and is fab!

btw, has anyone LOOKED at that 15 yr old tinkerbell? to say it was "park accurate" is a severe stretch. and she was smoking and using vulgar language, so even IF they were ok with her breaking the costume rule, this girl was posing AS tinkerbell, she apparently even signed things, and was doing things inappropriate to the disney image. not cool.

I'm not a super girly person but I'd love to wear a froofy princess dress or even dress as Tinker Bell. The problem is, I can't really find a pre-made princess dress I like, and uh... Tinker Bell's dress is a little short. And by a little, I mean "a lot". No one needs to see that much of my leg! So right now I'm looking at other options. I found a couple ghostly costumes that make me think of Haunted Mansion ghosts so I might go with one of those.

For the first party I'm being lazy and wearing my Chip kigurumi. I'm super excited to wear it while getting my picture taken with Chip and Dale before the party starts. It's not overly warm, but if I do get too hot I can just take it off. It takes up surprisingly little room in a backpack.

I don't have a picture of me wearing mine, but I have the product shot.

The only downside is that the tail is really low so I'll probably end up getting it dirty. Plus when I sit down I have to make sure the tail is arranged right otherwise it ends up between my legs and looks a little... well you probably get the idea.
Holy smokes you're gonna melt in that! Cute though.
