We are considering taking US Air to Orlando out of Providence, RI. A friend mentioned she thought something like bankruptcy reorganization was going on w/ US Air, or some other problems.
Does anyone have info on US Air, recommendations, etc. We would save a substantial amount of $ on our tickets on US Air, our vacation is a prime week and the other airline prices are outrageous for that week. On the other hand, I don't want to take any big risks with an airline I know nothing about. |

IMHO, you would be fine. We have used USAirways for every WDW vacation trip....and we travel there at least once a year, often more if opportunity strikes. We are booked to use them again next month. I think that their service has slipped over the past few years and certainly since 9/11. If I were to choose an airline with better customer service in my area, it would be SW. However, their flights book very quickly and there are not as many of them yet. USAirways offer many more non-stop options from Philly and we often choose to leave on the first morning flight so we have nearly a full day in Orlando. Unfortunately, although I usually would pick service over price, airfares are so outrageous I cannot afford to be as picky as I would like. I try to remind myself that serving the public is a tough job - been there, done that - and sometimes people don't think before they talk or act. It's not perfect, but travel has changed so much for all of us since 9/11, we have to make some compromises.
As for their financial issues, they are not the only airline experiencing problems and so far they have been able to renegotiate their loans with creditors. I really have no concerns about using them. You might want to check out the postings on the attached website. They are from frequent flyers who have more day-to-day experiences with the airline. www.flyertalk.com |

You will do fine with USAirways. I am a preferred flyer with USAirways and haven't had any problems with them. I agree about going to Flyertalk. Be sure to go to the USAirways forum.
