Change Spirit of Aloha to Hoop Dee Doo???

My DD(6) and I are already booked to attend the Spirit of Aloha dinner show the last week in June. I read and read and am just very unsure if I made the right choice. I think the whole luau experience for her would be fun, but then maybe the jokes and entertainment of the HDD would be even better. I'm probably even too late to do HDD at this point. Should I just stay as is? I've never seen either so I am really relying on the posts on this site. I am torn, but I also know that if I want to try for the HDD I've got to make it snappy!!! Help! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I would go with the Hoop Dee Doo! It's so great and it's hysterical! We love it! I would assumed they still have seats - 3 shows every night. I made a PS there at 60 days out and had no problem snagging seats.

Another vote for Hoop De Doo! At six years old I think she will have much more fun...and so will you!...but be sure to bring your appetites!

If she likes horses be sure to go early and have a pony ride. The last time I was there I even saw some parents getting to lead the pony! The rides are inexpensive...$5 at most I think. Has anyone done this lately?

If she'd rather not have a pony ride there are goats to pet and feed...or just take a peek at the big Belgians and Percherons in their walk-through barn. Last time we watched a cowboy CM harness one of them up for a carriage ride...there is also a hay ride for less than $10 I believe. These things are all right there by the HDD. Right next to the HHD is a large restroom so you can wash your hands before you eat...lol...or eat early and then do these things while it is still light...except the hayride or carriage ride. I think those are only offered in the evening.

My daughter(4) and son (7) loved the Hoop de Doo. The entertainment and food was great. I wish I had some of the strawberry shortcake right now. Our waiter was the best. He saw that my son wasn't eating much and brought him pizza and maccoroni and cheese. The Hoop de Doo is at the top of our list for our next trip to Disney.

It's done!

Yea! I got the 7:15 show for the HDD on the same night I had booked the Spirit of Aloha! Thanks for your feedback! Anyone know how soon I should leave Magic Kingdom to get there by 6:45? Got to get my itinerary together, you know!

You will have a great time! If you are leaving the MK, I would take the ferry boat ride to Fort Wilderness. From what I remember the boat ride is about 15 min. And you are basically dropped off right near the Hoop de Doo. It doesn't matter if you are first in the Dinner Hall or last because seats are pre-assigned. So, I don't see why you need to arrive 30min. ahead of time. If you are staying at a Disney Hotel they can tell you exactly what time you should leave and what transportation is the best way.
